Sylvia Frantz

Melee, Fighter

Sylvia has many different play styles and strengths depending on what type of magical stone she gets from her arsenal at the start of the game from the shop. All the stones can be seen listed in the shop and each stone can be bought for free. Once bought it does not show in the inventory, instead it appears to the right if the character sheet at the bottom of the screen.

Innate Passive: Stone Proficiency

This has 2 uses.

1: (Gain's part one of the passive depending on stone used.)

2: Sylvia uses her blade with expert precision causing her basic attacks to deal bonus true damage based on a small percentage of her maximum attack damage and gains +2 bonus true damage per champion level.

True damage: 16/17/18/19/20% +2 extra damage per champion level

As I’ve stated before Sylvia is very unique and uses several magical stones of Crystals to aid her in battle. The stones are stored in the hilt of the Sword which is enchanted, the sword and Sylvia draws power from the stone or crystal, so let’s take a look at her arsenal. Please be aware that Sylvia’s other passive will become the ability the stone has.

(NOTE: Sylvia can only equip ONE stone per game.)

Stones and Crystals

Title: Shadows Beacon (Soul Crystal)

Sylvia is not affected by unit collision. In addition every minion or monster she kills gives her a soul for the sword to carry. These soul stack indefinitely and each soul add to her power. Each soul allows for her basic attack to deal 0.25% bonus damage to enemy champions. If Sylvia kills an enemy champion she gains their soul gaining an extra 1.5% added to her soul count. Souls from champion stack up to 6 times. If Sylvia is killed she then loses 50% of the all the stacks gained from Champions. Sylvia will not lose soul stacks that she has gained from minions or monsters upon death.

Title: Red Dragon Eye (Fire Stone)

Sylvia’s basic attacks burn targets for a small percentage of their maximum health every 0.5 seconds for 1 second. In addition Sylvia will gain “Gift of the Dragon” which builds up stacks. (5) Stacks are built through successful basic attacks or skills. Once the requirement is met the next basic attack or skill will allow her to steal health from enemy champions only!

Stolen HP: 50/80/100/120 +5/ 6.5/8% Maximum AD

Title: Crystal of the North (Ice Crystal)

Sylvia’s basic attacks now gain permafrost, slowing the enemy by 20% for 0.5 seconds per basic attack. Once every 10 strikes against an enemy champion Sylvia's next basic attack will gain “Chilling Touch.” this will cause either one of her skills or basic attack to deal bonus damage to targets affected by any kind of crowd control. However, if the bonus damage was procced on a target that Sylvia attacked recently that target will be encased in ice for a short 1 second. Once trapped they cannot cast any spells or abilities until the spell is broken. After the Ice has broken that target cannot be stunned or slowed by Sylvia again until 15 seconds has passed.

Bonus damage: 8/12/16/22% Stun: 1 second Slow: 20% 0.5 seconds per successful strike

Title: Howl of the East (Wind Crystal)

This stone grants Sylvia “Prayer of the winds” this allows for her to gain a fleet of foot effect whenever she lands a successful basic attack or skill on enemy champions. In addition she can move through units.

Sylvia also gains the ability to physically Dodge any and all incoming attacks including certain skills. Once equipped the stone gives Sylvia a 10/12/17/20% Chance to dodge or block incoming damage. Sylvia can dodge or block any and all basic attacks and basic attack buffs. If blocked instead of Dodged Sylvia will take 50/45/40/35% of the damage from that attack. Please note Sylvia can only Dodge or block abilities that travel on a linear path, though certain abilities, specifically that go through enemies (like Varus’s Q or Viktor’s Laser, or Graves's new Q).

Simply put she won’t be able to dodge or block any ability that damages multiple enemies at a time. If it’s an ability that is a single target ability it can be dodged or Blocked. If it’s a case like Lissandra’s Ice Shard, Sylvia will be able to dodge it of block it if she was going to be hit by the shard itself. Sylvia would take full damage from the Ice Shard if it broke apart after hitting another enemy as she won’t be able to dodge or block it.

(NOTE: Dodging or Blocking is completely random and isn’t controllable. Players will NOT be able to know if she’ll choose to dodge or block.)

Skill set:

Q: Sword Dance

Sylvia will strike the target with a three slashing combo which makes her briefly immobile for 1 second and resets her basic attack timer. If all three strikes successfully deal damage to the target the cooldown will be halved. This skill also reads as a basic attack and will proc onhit effects, such as critical strike and lifesteal.

Recommended Items:

(Note: Sylvia Crystals don’t take up an inventory slot. And are free from the shop. They cannot be upgraded and when bought cannot be sold.)

Sylvia has her high cooldowns so to avoid falling behind you should stack CDR with items like Boots of Lucidity and Youmuu's Ghostblade or Black Cleaver.

Since Sylvia is extremely squishy I would recommend getting something for that late game tankiness. Try items like Spirit Visage and Warmogs for that extra survivability.

Play style: Sylvia is extremely squishy for a fighter. This is due to her insane amount of damage. Though she is classified as a Fighter there is no definitive play style due to her unique kit.

Instead to play her correctly you're going to have to think about your next move before you jump into a battle. Sylvia's kit can be played like Irelia by picking up the Shadows Beacon Stone and getting some early damage items for that sustain or you can try more of a Defensive approach and wait for jungle banks. A good bank with a combination of Sylvia's kit along with most jungler is going to make it really hard for the enemy lane to escape.

Sylvia is NOT tanky so don’t go doing turrets to get what may seem like an easy kill. One bad mistake and you could be behind for a while depending on the equipped Stone.

Playing Against

Sylvia's early game isn't that good unless she can farm up a ton to keep herself in the fame. Be aggressive and zone her out from obtaining much gold. But be careful...if you get ganked you could end up giving her a kill.

Sylvia depending on her stone in use is very hard to get away from. If you are behind be sure to get some resistances to try to survive her. A Sylvia that isn't snowballing isn't a good Sylvia.

Tips: Remember to pick up a stone that fits your play style for Sylvia. If you like defensive try to Shadows Beacon, if offense go Eye of the Dragon or Howl of the East. Careful though, once you choose a stone you can't sell it and replace after minions have spawned.

Your Masteries for Sylvia should be a set that fits your play style. Taking the offensive tree then going into HP and defenses isn't a bad start if your just trying her out. Remember that Sylvia's damage, skills, and effects are all based on her current stone. So you're going to have to match the masteries to suit which stone you enjoy using the most and or most comfortable with.

Speech: (Sylvia doesn't speak at all due to her Lore. (Not Finished yet.)

Laugh: (2 souls will come out of the sword and laugh sinisterly or playfully at an enemy.)

Sylvia’s body eminates a fog like sheet and the swords sheath has icicles growing off of it.

Sylvia seems shows no animations when she pulls the sword out to attack it emits white faded waves with each slash.

Sword Trivia:

Sylvia’s father had her sword made specifically to fit his requirements. Forged by some of Ionia’s best Sword smiths he had it made to resemble a Katana made with the Tachikana Sword smithing style. The Sword’s hilt was designed to be hollow and a metallic covering in order to house the ammunition that he planned on using for the sword. The sword's blade was also dipped in a very rich Crimson colour, tinting the blade to a beautiful red. Once the Sword was made to his exact measurement and specification it was sent back to him and he remastered it himself, outfitting the sword’s blade with Hextech applications and a spanking new Plasma edge that ran along the original blade. Once his masterwork was complete he made sure to have Sylvia’s name grafted onto the Hilt in Rune like symbols and then graft the name of the Sword onto the flat sides of the blade. He appropriately named the sword, “Spirit Edge.”

The Sword worked fine on it’s own as a normal katana. Though once a Magical Stone or Crystal was placed in the hilt the sword as it’s user would emanate the powers of that particular stone or crystal.

Clothing:

As depicted in the Photo.

Appearance: As depicted.

Age: 22

Sylvia doesn't speak due to her past. Though she communicates by writing or her body gestures. (Mostly Body Gestures.) Sylvia is normally really kind and shy, though when it comes to fighting it’s like a switch in her head turns on. From Sweet to Scary. Sylvia is young and inexperienced in both fighting and most things about the world. Though she hates evil and seeks to destroy all evil in the world.

LORE: Born in Piltover Sylvia was the daughter of an inventor. Her father normally worked in his lab within the city. Her father was a leading researcher alongside Jayce and other Scientist in creating a new line of weaponry for both magic users and non magic users. He was a happy man, a single father that cared deeply for his child and Jayce also helped to look after her. He would often ask Sylvia to be a temporary lab assistant for him when he needed some help and he would always pay her. Even when she refused to accept his money. Only 20 years old her understanding of hextech and techmaturgy was astounding. Sometimes she even taught Jayce a few things.

Though the path of an engineer was never in her interest, she always wanted to be a fighter. One that fought for what was right and to be and be a hero to others. This influence came from Jayce of course her fondness of him turned to love though she could never find the courage to tell him.

Jayce had suggested she take a tour to the Piltover police department since she was very justice like. She wanted to help others and what better way to do it than law enforcement. Upon letting her dad know her goals he told her that he would need to make to most special weapon for the most special person in his life. Though that weapon...was never completed.

Even though piltover may be a place of the law it’s not without it’s crime. One night as her father was working on his daughters weapon someone had broken into the house by smashing the window. Sylvia was out with her friends at a late night party with Caitlyn and Vi as they were both off duty. Jayce was working at the police office that night when he saw a burglary alarm pop up at the house he bolted out the door. Taking Cait’s PSV as he drove quickly to the scene. He called in in the radio for possible backup as he drove frantically. The father also heard the alarm. He had immediately locked up the weapon in a case with a coded electronic lock then headed up stairs. Unarmed the father grabbed the only protection he had. A large case filled with vials of unstable fluids.

As he entered his living room he saw a his office desk light on through the living room mirror. He entered the office armed with one of the vials. But the burglar hid himself behind the door. As soon as the father entered the office he heard a gun cock and then cold metal pressing on the back if his head.

Jayce was just a one minute away and decided to ring up Cait and Vi as he drove. Cait answered the phone as Vi could hear Jayces voice loudly on the line. Caut understood the situation and immediately told Vi. They both left the party with Sylvia and quickly drove off. Sylvia was super worried for her father but Vi and Cait were more concerned about keeping the daughter safe.

Back in the office the father was forced to turn and face his assailant. The father had no doubt recognised him in fact they both worked in the same lab. The father looked up at the man and saw that he had his life's work in his hands.

“Please...you can take my money anything but that...that's my life's work.” he said.

“Poor old Charles. What makes you think I need your money. Your work is worth millions, billion even and I’m going to make a fortune with this.” He said.

“Yousef, why are you doing this.” Clearly and utterly frightened. The father knew that he had left his recording device on in his pocket before going into the lab.

The man gritted his teeth. “Why? You dare ask why?!” He was clearly very angry at Charles over something. “For everything. Ever since we both graduated college you've always been better than me. Better grades, better inventions I’ve always been behind you...never able to catch up. Then you took her from me! The woman I loved you took her from me. You left me a broken man, and now after so many years I’ve finally been able to outsmart you.”

That moment many police lights could be seen through the window. “Goodbye Charles. And don’t worry about your daughter. I’ll take good care of her.” Jayce heard six gunshots fired in the house. And busted in the front door with his hammer. Several other officers surrounded the building and a few entered the house with Jayce. Cait and Vi along with Sylvia arrived shortly after Jayce entered the office.

“Search the building the killer may still be here.” Jayce looked knelt down to the corpse of late friend as the forensics officers came in. Though the suspect seemed to had found some way out as the building was empty. Cait and Vi finally entered the house with Sylvia. She saw her father corpse in the mirror in a pool of blood. His lab coat soaked with blood and his work scattered all over the floor.

She was about to run to his side when Jayce stopped her and threw his arms around her to stop her from contaminating the scene. She fought to reach for her dad. All Jayce did was hold her close and hug her tightly rocking from side to side slowly as he attempted to comfort her. Nothing but tears was shed that night. Jayce cried along with her. But he did so quietly as he held Sylvia safely in his arms.

Cait had arranged for Sylvia to live with her until the murderer was caught. Due to the recording device the murderer was quickly discovered but he was crafty and escaped custody and is now on the run. Sylvia was never the same after that day no matter who came to visit. She had lost her ability to speak and she wouldn't respond to any one or even blink or look at them.

She just sat in the living room, looking out the window in complete shock. Lifeless. A few days had passed and Jayce had visited her. He had a soft smile on his face as he look at her. Even though she couldn't respond to him she could still hear him. He spoke about her father's life before he had her. Though Jayce was younger than Sylvia when he first had met Charles. Jayce continued on with his story until he looked at the brown elongated wooden box that he had for her.

“Here,” he said as he grabbed it. “I have a gift for you. He opened the box for her and displayed to her to sword that the father left unfinished. “I finished it for you…” He said with a happy smile. The sword was beautiful. The blade was a lovely shade of crimson and had an intricate design etched into the blade on both sides. On the wooden hilt Sylvia's name was etched in the wood in Ionian style calligraphy is was in a language Jayce could not read though.

“Your father made a built in mechanism to allow the blade to vibrate.” On closer inspection Jayce realized the sword’s blade was remastered with high frequency technology. “and that the hilt had a cover. Inside was hollowed out and seemed to be able to hold some type of ammunition. “He put a lot of work into this.” Jayce reached into his pocket and pulled out another wooden box. But he didn't open it as he already knew what they were.

“Those are Magical Crystals to help you if you need them.” jayce then received a call on his communicator. “I see...I’ll be there in a few minutes.” He looked at Sylvia again, a small tear rolled down his face.

“I’m sorry it turned out like this for you Sylvy. I promised you, I’ll do everything in my power to protect you.” Jayce then gently placed a hand on her head and gave her a light kiss on the forehead.

“See you around kiddo.” And with the he left her sitting in the chair, staring at the fire as a tear rolled down her cheek.

After a few more days Jayce kept himself busy working and he wasn’t able to see her. Sylvia had gotten better she was walking around, cooking and cleaning even. Though she still could not speak she would normally just write to speak now. Jayce visited once more but Sylvia wasn’t there, Caitlynn greeted him at the door with a letter from Sylvia.

“Hi Jayce and Cait. Well by the time you read this I’ll be gone, but don’t worry, I’ll be coming back...eventually, I hope. I’m going to continue to honour my father memory by respecting his wishes and do what I want to do in my life. And I want to help others, so I left Piltover. I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for, but I’ll find it, I know I will. Jayce I could hear you when you visit, I wanted to respond, I really wanted to but for some reason I couldn’t.

To Cait, I appreciate you taking me in if it wasn’t for you I’d probably be in some hospital drying out like a prune. I love all of you, place don’t look for me. There are so many things I want to say to you Jayce, but I don’t have a voice anymore and I can’t just put them on a letter. Anyway I’m going now. Goodbye.”

Jayce dropped the letter and immediately jumped in his car hoping to get to the train station before she did, only, he was too late.

After that day, Jayce, Caitlynn nor Vi never seen Sylvia again. Three years later she appeared at the Institute accompanied by three normal summoners and one high summoner. She was to be implemented to be a champion. Upon hearing about Sylvia’s return, Jayce, Caitlynn and Vi all rushed to the Institute to see if it was true. Only to see her in the cafeteria having some tea with some of the champions and summoners. Jayce immediately went over to her and swung his arms around her, embracing her in a loving hug, Sylvia could hear his quiet sobs and she too embraced him as she haven't seen any of them for a long time. Cait and Vi could only look at the two of them with a smile. Though she could not speak she had no problem communicating with others as long as they understood her handwriting or gestures. She was happy to be back with her friends.

Heyo! Baron here or Zerichan as some people know me by that name. This is my latest concept that I've been thinking up for a while. And I tell you, this was a massive headache -.- . Anyway, Tell me what you think about it so far. Your honest opinions please. Please note that any and all idiotic, troll and otherwise non-beneficial comments will be completely ignored and or deleted. Thank you for reading and Critiquing my work.

PS: I figured that since League is in the state it's currently in that this type of champion was needed and I personally think that it adds alot of variety to the mix of champions currently available. Hyper Carry much? Maybe, maybe not... :)
