Ashaya, Demonic Heritage
LORE: Back when before the Shadow Isles became what they were today, there existed the Kingdom of the Radiant Isles. Though despite the name, like the other kingdoms in Valoran, they too had their share of evil, monsters, and superstitions. Many years ago during this time a woman by the name of Nisha was on a hunting trip with a group of hunters they meant to stay deep in the forests to find the biggest creatures to hunt and return home victorious after a few days. However during the chase for one of the most dangerous creatures that plagued the citizens of the Radiant Isles Nisha fell. She made a bad step and the floor caved in causing her to fall several hundred feet under ground. Though her fall was broken by a steep slide on the dirt and rocks, she fractured one of her legs upon landing. Now trapped in a deep hole she tried yelling for her friends, but to no avail, her hunting party was to occupied with killing the creature they hunted that they failed to hear her fall or even hear her voice. Nisha tried her best to remain calm in her situation, taking in her surrounding she could see nothing but blackness outside of the the light that shone down from the hole. Nisha was trapped inside a hole, No way to climb back out. Eventually she decided to explore where she fell, realizing that she landed in a series of tunnel systems all leading to different places. She had no time to chose, upon hearing the wretched snarls and growls of the creatures she helped to hunt and kill one of the tunnels she made her way to the adjacent one feeling her way through on the moss covered, cold walls she eventually stopped when she felt what seemed to be tree roots. Using a small lighter she lit up the section of the cave and broke off one of the roots, using it to wrap her fractured leg so that the bone would not be damaged anymore that it already was. Bearing immense pain she continued through the cave only using her lighter when she felt something off.
Eventually after many hours of walking on a fractured leg, she collapsed on the cold, moss covered floor. Her eyes faded to black as she accepted her fate. Several hours later she awoke in a different location, her body wrapped in a thick blanket and her fractured leg properly wrapped and cared for. As she looked around she saw a hulking figure sitting in the corner in the darkness. Nisha immediately looked around for her dagger only to hear the voice of the creature.
"If you're looking for your weapon, it's in the drawer on the table to your right."
Nisha was amazed, she never knew that the creatures she hunted for so long could speak let alone form a proper and understandable sentence. As a child she was always told that the creatures were nothing more than beasts, hunting and killing humans for many years.
"You're wondering why I can speak...unlike the others that you've fought or seen."
"How did you..." She was curious, even though she hunted these creatures her whole life, she never felt any sort of threat from this particular creature. The hulking figure came into the view of the candles that lit up the room she was in. Surprisingly the creature had a human face, despite its intimidating appearance it made it clear that it meant her no harm as it was the one that care for her injury and nursed her back to health.
"I can't read your mind. Unlike the others I'm much older and wiser than they are." it spoke again. It's voice was like piercing heat, making Nisha feel both scared of him and yet...safe. "There is no need to be afraid of me, unlike the others, I don't kill needlessly, besides, you seemed like you needed help since you were screaming for help in your head." He explained.
Nisha didn't seem to need to speak, she thought of the words but he always answered before she said them. "Rest now, you'll be safe here. I'll be back."
Accepting his offer and seeing that her leg was still to bad to actually walk on anymore for the time being she rested her head on the rather comfortable bed drifting off to sleep. Eventually she was awoken by him entering the room again, though she never got the chance to properly look around.
"I've brought food..." He appeared to have a freshly killed wild boar over her shoulders as well as some water and what appeared to be a handful of herbs and plants from the surface strangely enough...she's seen the same herbs and plants before. She thought that maybe she was close to her home.
"Why take care of me, my kind has killed many of your own species, why take care of the enemy?" She asked him.
He looked at her then chopped of the head of the dead boar with a massive cleaver before answering. Giving her some water he explained. "Nisha not all creatures are mindless monsters that roam the surface, many of the more um...civilized of us lived deep in caves or mostly underground. Sometime they live on the surface, hiding from your kind because of the war between both human and monster. Many of us including myself, believe it or not prefer that the fighting stops. Some of us like killing, others like myself do not. Some of us prefer to live in peace and tend to our own lives rather than having to look over our shoulders for an arrow or a gun. I saved you, because you're young, I saved you because your life has yet to be lived, I saved you because I'm not a killer like the others."
He seemed to speak sincerely, Nisha could hear comfort and truth in his voice. "All I've been taught about your kind from a child was wrong...maybe, we are wrong for hunting you down. Maybe we shouldn't fight."
"Everyone fights what they don't understand...but it's not your kinds fault to believe that what you believe about us. After all it was the mindless hunger driven types of my kind that drove you to want to exterminate us."
The two spoke day after day after that, eventually Nisha was able to walk again. Her leg fully healed, eventually the creature that healed her now named Cha'Zar lead her back to the surface and to the edge of the forest where she had a clear path and sight of her home. Cha'Zar urged her to visit him anytime she wanted to as they were both now friends and maybe one day Cha'Zar would be accepted into human society.
Over time their relationship became more, intimate. Friendly visits became urges of lust and a craving for each other, and though Nisha knew that she was falling in love with a creature that didn't seem to bother her. Cha'Zar was more human that she realized, despite his rock like arms, his tail and bat like wings. He never actually posed a threat to Nisha nor any of the hunters that came into the massive forest looking for things to hunt. The village that though Nisha was dead realized that she had returned. In her efforts after spending many nights and days with Cha'Zar she wanted to know if he would like to move forward with his vision for peace between humans and creatures. And so they both went to their king for a listening ear.
Given that Nisha thinks highly of her king, she assumed that he would hear them out, and he did. The king personally invited Cha'Zar in the kingdom after Nisha explained to the king what he did to save her life in the cave, this intrigued him to know that a creature saved the life of one of his citizens, with special conditions Cha'Zar entered the village with Nisha by his side.
Many of the other humans looked on with disgust and they held hands walking through the streets accompanied by the royal guard. The common people viewed their friendship as blasphemous and an insult to humankind. Afterall Cha'Zar is one of the oldest of his kind which has been hunted because of the mindless creatures.
The kind eventually heard both of them out when they got to the palace. Cha'Zar went first as the king asked him to step forward.
"Good afternoon, human." He spoke clear as day.
A guard pointed hi spear at Cha'Zar, Cha'Zar could see the hatred the guard had for creatures though Cha'Zar did not act. "It's "Your majesty" to you." He said in anger.
"Stand down! You can forgive him for any formalities, it's a stranger to our ways." The king declared.
The soldier backed off, still looking on with utter disgust and hatred.
"I must apologize for the attitude of the people around you Cha'Zar, they bare great hatred for the creature you call your own. In fact I can imagine many of them wanting to kill you right now. Though as a King I can only try my best to rectify the situation of our two races I can't fully change the mind of those around you." He paused. "I've heared of what you did in order to save the life of Nisha, I thank you. I knew her father a long time ago. I'm willing to hear what you have to say."
Cha'Zar took no offense to the hatred for him around him, he knew the reasons why it was like that. He spoke up.
"I cannot apologize for the creature I grew up around, though you need to know that not all of us are mindless beast that only crave hunger. Many of us like myself are much older than the rest, we have grown wise, learned to speak and can even learn magic. I myself have learned to read the minds of human, which is why I've stayed hidden for so long. They are many like myself that seek a peace between our races, and though the vast majority of us are the young mindless beast that you hunt the rest of us refuse to even approach you because of the prejudice of the races. Nisha is proof of my peaceful nature and I hoped that we could come to some kind of agreement that would n't separate our races, but bind them together." Cha'Zar spoke with pride.
The king listened to his words intensely, he hopes that his citizens did to. "Are you the only one of your kind that seeks for a peaceful solution? After all it was your kind that started killing my citizens, which is why I gave the order to start hunting you down."
"I'm not the only one, many of the old ones that were on this island before human occupation seek nothing more than to live in peace, though we maybe what we are, Creatures, that does not mean that our races should kill each other." Cha'Zar hoped that the king would listen to reason, but he was prepare to protect Nisha and himself should things happen.
"Nisha. What are your views on this matter?" The king asked.
"I believe him." She answered instantly.
Everyone gasped, they weren't expecting an answer like that so quickly. "No hesitation...very interesting." He said to himself. A smile came over his face.
"It seems as though the relationship between you too has grown to something more than just friends, you don't have to explain, though you look a little pale Nisha. Are you alright?" Nisha held her head.
"I feel...dizzy." And with that she collapsed in Cha'Zar's arms.
With quick reactions, the king commanded that she be taken to the healers. Whilst Cha'Zar refused to leave her side the king despite his calm and understanding nature, chose to have him watched as a way to show the citizens that he is still doing his job as king.
Nisha awoke in the middle of the night to see Cha'Zar and the healer speaking. The healer didn't seem to have any sort of hatred towards Cha'Zar though she seemed cautious around him. After she spoke to him she left the room to return.
"Why didn't you say anything Nisha?" He asked.
"Why didn't I tell you what?" She asked confused.
"You didn't know? You are bearing our child." He responded.
"I see," a happy smile came over her, then tears of joy. "At last we can be a family."
"I doubt the humans will agree, they probably think I did something to you. You felt their gazes, their hatred." He held her hand. As the healer returned.
"You can stop it all though, how did the conversation go with the King while I was out?"
Cha'Zar explain how he was asked to be the diplomatic ambassador for his kind in order to mend the relationship between their races, the King wanted nothing more than to protect his people, and this seemed like a very logical and peaceful solution, though the humans still have to defend themselves from the hunger driven creatures during the diplomatic relations but it was a price to pay for what was to come.
The king gave Nisha a bigger home to help give space for her new daughter and even allowed Cha'Zar citizenship in his kingdom. He hoped that maybe the citizens can interact with Cha'Zar and see that he is genuine and can be treated like they treat each other. The king blessed their daughter and she was named Ashaya, though as a baby she looked completely human. She had no features of a creature as yet, though the healers speculated that her creature mentality will bloom into fruition at a later stage. Ashaya was a cute little girl, she made Cha'Zar and Nisha happy. Diplomatic relations between the two races seemed to be going well...and despite Cha'Zars efforts to keep the youngest monsters at bay he can't even with him being well known, he cannot stop the mindless ones as they are to young to grown intelligence. Eventually Cha'Zar became the Kings personal diplomat and life for the two races thrived.
Though all good things must come to an end eventually, some humans still bore hatred towards Cha'Zar and Ashaya was starting to develop a craving for raw meat as she exhibited traits from her father, her hands to her elbows started to grow a rock like substance that seemed to be as soft as skin until threatened. Then her legs from her feet to her thighs, then she grow horns and a long tail. Her wings grow to full size last. Eventually she was flying around the town despite her fathers best efforts to tame her child like behavior, though as a child, there is only so much you can do, she did not yet understand the relationship between the humans and the creatures, and he feared that Ashaya may one day be attacked.
Eventually his concerns came to be, whilst Cha'Zar was away for many days on a diplomating mission with the king as the King himself agreed to take the chance and show his face to the creatures that sought a forever peace. Ashaya was attacked in her own home by the children of a hunters family. No one knows how they got inside, it was speculated that Ashaya brought them inside due to her still being a child and has yet to see understand rules. The children took advantage of her lack of intelligence and bullied her in her own home, causing her terror. One of the children in particular was extremely violent with Ashaya he tossed her around the house and even tried to cut her with a knife that he stole from his father's hunting set.
He stabbed at Ashaya's raising her hand to block the blade, it cut a part of her skin that wasn't covered in rock. It was at that moment that she snapped. The smell of blood activated her latent creature mentality she pounced on the child that cut her first, ripping his body to shreds with her claws on her rock like hands. With all the blood now in the air she attacked the other children killing four out of five of them. one of the children managed to escape though the main door but only but up on a group of guards that heared the commotion in the house and came to investigate. One of the guards was a close friend to Nisha. He saw Ashaya leap out at the child, quickly grabbing her by the wings and holding her in place he looked at the child.
"Why were you in Ashaya's home, and what did you make her do?" He demanded. Unlike the other humans, he felt no hatred towards the creatures, and often visited the family himself, he knew Ashaya would never attack someone without a reason.
The child said that she killed his friends, the rest of the guards went inside the home and what they saw was nothing but body parts all over the living room, kitchen and walls. Blood everywhere, but one of the guards took up a knife that had a single spray of blood on it. And took it to the guard that held Ashaya who calmed down. Examining the blood he saw that it wasn't human blood, instead he saw a wound on Ashaya's arm.
"You tried to kill Ashaya? This is her blood!" He claimed. The child then cowered in fear.
"Take him and his family to the courts chamber and await the king, he showed be returning with Ashaya's father soon.
NIsha returned home only to see her door opened and house left in the state that Ashaya left it in. The other villagers told her that Ashaya was taken to the court house along with the child she attacked. Rushing over to her childs aid, she stood in the court room where Ashaya was tied up and several guards stood around her. With happiness Ashaya smiled and made weird creature like sounds when she saw her mother. Demanding the guards to untie her daughter, they refused, waiting on the king to return.
"Untie Ashaya!" the King commanded as he entered the court house.
She leaped into her mothers arms the moment the ropes came lose, Cha'Zar stroke her silvery hair now drenched in blood. "First of all I will say this." The king looked especially angry. "You should be ashamed of yourselves, never before has the children of my own citizens dared to enter the home of another and tried to kill on of my citizens." He spoke angrily to the parents of the children that died and to the parents of the child that escaped.
He commanded the boy that escaped to tell the truth as he spoke. The boy explained what they intended to do to Ashaya, but they never expected her to react the way she did. The King was especially angry, "You realize that your son may have just jeopardized all that we've worked for for peace?"
he eventually calmed himself. "I'm sorry for the deaths of your children, I won't say that they deserved it, but their deaths are on your hands. Ashaya was already the child of a creature and knowing that you refused to teach your children the correct standards of dealing with creatures and different races. But...as a king I must be very clear. Ashaya must be watched everyday from now on, until she is old enough to understand what she did. She must not be left alone in her home at all times and must NOT have any interaction with the people around her until she is old enough."
With that said Cha'Zar Ashaya decided to stay home and care for Ashaya. Eventually she cleaned up all the blood and got rid of the smell before Ashaya stepped into the house again. mayn years passed after that and the Runewars came. Ashaya was now fourteen years old in human years, but the years and growth of a creature is much slower than a humans.
Cha'Zar fought in the rune Wars with several of the soldiers that grew to like the creatures and so did many of the creatures that allied with Cha'Zar in his vision for peace. eventually Cha'Zar died, leaving his wife behind with his only child. After the first rune War was over, the Radiant Isles started turning dark and sinister, the forests and it's creatures became what they are today and the island itself was starting to be shrouded in shadow with dark and unstable magics swirling in the air.
Ashaya still being very young was very susceptible to these magics, her body absorbed the magic like a sponge and she gained abilities and magic powers just like her father a lot faster than he did. The king knowing that the fate of his kingdom was inevitable, he took Ashaya and her mother to a deep cavern under the palace to keep them safe along with several other of his healers and mages. The surface was almost over taken by shadow and the creatures of the forests started attacking and killing humans once again. Driven to madness by the corrupted magic that loamed over his once beautiful kingdom.
Nisha now and old woman, didn't want to let her daughter suffer the same fate as she would, she convinced the king to let her daughter live. The only solution, was to imprison her in the crystal that powered the palace, the source of the magic that once protected the Radiant Isles. Working with the healers and due to his friendship between the family he agreed and sealed her away in hopes that someone would one day come across the crystal and release her from her prison.
Hundred of years after these events the institute of War conducted an expedition to the Shadow Isles in order to learn what was the cause of the Radiant Isles to become the way it is now. Ten people were sent to investigate, making their way to the palace that was stood proud over the now destroyed villages and town. One of the summoners, the youngest fell into a cavern that connected to the Crystal prison where Ashaya was held. The other summoners and soldiers that accompanied him made their way into the cavern through the ruined palace as they found the entrance to the cavern through a trap door under neath the ruined kings throne. They all gazed at the crystal, still booming with an enticing and beautiful glow, seemingly untouched by the darkness that consumed the Radiant Isles.
They saw the woman trapped inside the crystal, as Summoners they are tasked with retrieving magical items and bringing newly found mages and creatures to the institute for study. Eventually they found a way to free her from her Crystal prison, floating effortlessly into the air, she seemed to gently turn around as if scanning the room in her unconscious state eventually gently floating into the arms of the youngest Summoner. Her eyes opened, revealing her creature like amber coloured eyes that seemed to glow in the dark cavern.
Calling out her fathers named to the youngest summoner she stroked the side of his cheek gently then fell unconscious again. The summoners took her back to the institute where she was studied by the high summoners and went through the champion evaluation process. Many that saw what happened in her past as they read her memories cried for her, while others pitied her. Though her intelligence was still that of a child, she understand their language at least. Now an adult in human years she was yet to start thinking like an adult. The summoner that she mistook for her father when they first found her was tasked with raising her and being her guardian.
Ashaya lived out the rest of her days learning and attempting to control her animalistic urges, as she lived among humans.

TIPS: When playing Ashaya, don't be afraid to go all when trading with opponents as her "Bladed Lashing" and "Deadly Strike" combo will be enough to make the enemy back off.
Ashaya kit isn't designed for fighting multiple opponents early game. Be sure to ward often and keep yourself safe until you get a few core items to start snowballing.
Playing Against: Unless you are playing a champion the is tanky, or has a heal, be sure to give Ashaya some room, an aggressive Ashaya might bully you out of lane. Or be sure to wait until you mid laner or Jungler comes to gank to get ahead of her in lane.
Keep in mind that Ashaya can execute you if your HP is too low, avoid this by getting items that increase resistances or HP to combat her burst.

Item Tips: Building an early attack speed item on Ashaya would be a good start as it would benefit her greatly in landing enough basic attacks for the "Bladed Lashing" "Deadly Strike" combo. Ashaya also isn't a very tanky champion so building resistances will be a great help if your being bullied out of lane as she deals a decent amount of damage.
Lastly, lifesteal is a MUST on Ashaya, not having lifesteal will put her at a significant disadvantage when using her ultimate. Remember that it drains her HP so lifesteal is very helpful.
