Cadwin, the Former Summoner Support/Mage

"They tried to bind me... HAH! I've turned what I thought was my weakness into my greatest strength! Tremble before my might!"

Back when the Institute of War existed, Cadwyn was widely revered as one of the best summoners to have ever existed. He quickly rose through the hierarchy of summoners until he became the right-hand man to the High Summoner herself. However, he went mad with power, and he wanted more and more of it. Xerath used Cadwyn's thirst for power and convinced him to fight the Institute. Cadwyn's power was mighty enough to destroy the Institute of War, but was not great enough to kill all of the summoners. As a result, he was banished from the League of Legends for eternity, and his magic was dampened as much as the summoners could restrain it. However, it was too great, and could not be fully restrained. After the summoners tried to control Cadwyn's magic, he wanted revenge. He found as many sources of power as he could. He went to Zaun first, to see if he could augment his ability with hextech technology. However, that wasn't enough, because he knew that that was only borrowed power. Next he went to Mount Targon to achieve the power Taric did. However, he was not found worthy, and was rejected. As a last resort, Cadwyn, deranged and insane, came back to Xerath and asked if he could be granted power. Xerath smiled, and told him to become an immortal through the Sun Disk of Shurima. Cadwyn, using what remained of his magic, summoned the Ancient Sun Disk of Shurima, and the light of the sun bathed onto him. The disc acknolwledged the power and ambition Cadwyn posessed, but also acknowledged the fact that Cadwyn's intent was not pure. As a result, he was reborn as an immortal with all of the power that he had ever wanted, but unbreakable arcane chains now wrapped around him, restricting his movement. Cadwyn was furious, but at the same time he knew it was more power than he had ever had. He slowly traveled back to the League of Legends, and sneaked in as a Champion. He knew he had power, he just needed to train it. Cadwyn decided that once he was ready, he would utterly destroy everyone in the League of Legends to finally fulfill his quest for revenge.

Cadwyn looks like an arclight version of Xerath's core: a stick figure made of yellow light. However, glowing yellow chains wrap around his entire body. His hitbox is slightly smaller than Xerath's. A small helmet with tiny wings at the sides mark his head. He has glowing red eyes.

Primary resource bar: Health Secondary resource bar: Mana

Base Stats: Health: 590-1740 Health Regen: 2.3-5.2/sec Mana: 350-650 Mana Regen: 1.2-3.6/sec Movement Speed: 345 Attack Range: 450 Attack Speed: 0.56-1.05 Attack Damage: 56-118

Basic attack animation: He throws a single yellow glowing chain link at target enemy. Critical attack animation: He throws a small orange glowing chain at target enemy.

Abilities: Passive: Eternal Chains Cadwyn's chains bind him, but that doesn't mean they can't be used for other things. Each time Cadwyn casts an ability that damages an enemy champion, a chain will strike in a line towards wherever the enemy is dealing 5-90(+5(+Level)%AP) magic damage to all enemies hit. (Range: 600 units) 2 second cooldown.

Passive Concept art idea: Fires a glowing chain out of Cadwyn's body in a direction.

Q- Chained Malice Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 sec Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana 600 units Cadwyn fires a chain in target direction, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+50% AP) magic damage and stunning the first enemy hit for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds. If the enemy hit was a Champion, a bond of arcane energy will form between Cadwyn and the affected target for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, snaring all enemies that walk through it for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. The targeted champion cannot be snared. If the target is anywhere 1300 units away or more from Cadwyn, the chain breaks, snaring the enemy for 3 seconds.

Q Concept art idea: Cadwin throws a chain with a spiked tip in a direction that goes taut and turns into energy once it hits someone.

W- Arcane Oversight Passive: Enemies with a Lockdown debuff can be hit by Cadwyn's basic attacks an additional 400 units away. If Cadwyn attacks an enemy with a Lockdown debuff, they gain a stack of Chained. An enemy with three stacks of Chained will be stunned for 1 second after a brief delay.

W Passive Concept art idea: A circle with three segments shows up over any champion with the Lockdown debuff. Each time a basic attack hits, a segment is filled with light. When all three are filled, it spins 360 degrees and then explodes, stunning the target.

Active: 60/65/70/75/80 mana Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 sec 600 units Cadwin fires a ball of energy in target direction. If it hits an enemy champion, it will stay on the champion and deal 50/60/70/80/90 (+40% AP) magic damage. Within 5 seconds of hitting an enemy Champion, Cadwin can recast this ability for 0 mana to have the energy ball fly back to Cadwin, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+20% AP) magic damage to all enemies hit, and gives all enemy champions hit a Lockdown debuff. Once it reaches Cadwyn, it explodes, healing all allies for 10/20/30/40/50 (+20% AP) health.

W Active Concept art idea: A disc-shaped ball is fired then rotates the enemy champion like how Orianna's ball will circle a protected ally. When recalled, it will zoom back to Cadwyn and explode once it reaches him.

E- Restrained Insanity Cooldown: 30/26/22/18/14 sec 400 units Cadwin forms a statue made out of chains in target location. After 1 second, the statue will send chains out in every direction (250 units), then retract them after 1 second. While the chains are retracting, they will drag enemies towards the center for 1 second. The area of dragging will be reduced as the chains retract. The statue will then burst and deal 20/40/60/80/100 (+40% AP) magic damage to all enemies within 150 units of the statue.

The Statue can be hit by Cadwyn's Q, Chained Malice. If a statue is hit, Cadwyn can recast Q out of the statue within 5 seconds.

Specific interaction idea: If an enemy dashes into the circle, or blinks into the circle, or is knocked into the circle, etc. then they will be dragged for the rest of the duration. Cadwyn's Q will still form a chain between Cadwyn and the Statue, snaring all enemies it passes through.

E Concept art idea: A faint coil of chains moves in target direction, then forms a statue of Cadwyn (such a narcissist!). It then shoots out the chains, highlighting a circle 250 units around the statue. While the chains are retracting, the circle grows smaller until enemies touch the statue. Then it will explode in a burst of light, dealing damage and flinging a few stray chain links.

R- Unleashed Chains Cost: 100/150/200 mana Cooldown: 80/70/60 seconds 1200 units

Cadwyn binds an ally or enemy to himself for 10 seconds. Cadwyn's movement is increased by 30% while moving towards the bound target, and is reduced by 10% while moving away. Cadwyn can reactivate this ability for no cost for the entire duration of the spell to cancel it.

Ally bound: Cadwyn's bond with the ally will grow stronger and stronger until the very end. Each second that Cadwyn is bound with an ally, the ally will gain an additional 4/5/6% attack speed, 15/20/25 health, 2/3/4 attack damage, and 3/4/5 ability power per second, up to a max of 40/50/60% bonus attack speed, 150/200/250 health, 20/30/40 attack damage, and 30/40/50 ability power. At the end of the duration, all buffs are lost with the exception of any health healed.

Enemy bound: Cadwyn's bond with the enemy will grow stronger and stronger until the very end. Each second that Cadwyn is bound with an enemy, the enemy will lose an additional 3/4/5% bonus attack speed gained from items, 2/3/4 attack damage, and 6/7/8 ability power per second, up to a max of 30/40/50% bonus attack speed, 20/30/40 attack damage, and 60/70/80 ability power. At the end of the duration, all debuffs are lost, and the enemy is dealt 150/300/450 (+80% AP) magic damage and snared for 3 seconds.

If Cadwyn reactivates the ability, or if the target is 1400 units away from Cadwyn at any point during the spell, the bond is broken and all buffs and debuffs will instantly be lost, and Cadwyn's movement speed will no longer be affected by the target.

R Concept Art idea: The bond is a big chain that encircles the target and extends from Cadwyn to the target. At the end, it unwraps around the target if it was an ally and returns to Cadwyn, or constricts if the target was an enemy before returning to Cadwyn.

First skin idea: Tech Team Cadwyn

Model: Tech Team Cadwyn no longer has chains but is instead wrapped in wires. His model is now blue.

Passive: A steel chain crackling with electricity fires out.

Q: A jumble of wires is thrown with a plug at the end. If it connects, electricity charges along the wire.

W:

Passive: A sniper's scope with 3 prongs appears. Each attack will make one fill in. At the end, the sniper's scope will rotate and enlarge as if a bullet has been fired, then disappear.

Active: Cadwyn throws a tiny satellite that behaves the same way as the energy ball. When it is recalled, the satellite will instead rise up above Cadwyn and beam a cone-shaped blue ray of light that heals everyone in the zone.

E: Cadwyn throws a bunch of scrap metal which then is formed into a radio tower. The radio tower will send out waves instead of chains, then recall them, dragging enemies in. It'll then explode with random bits of metal flying out.

R: Cadwyn's bond is a twisted cord of electricity that behaves the same way as the chain.

This would actually be really fun to play in my opinion, so I would love it if Riot made this a real thing! Also I think Cadwyn means Chain in Welsh, hence the name.

It seems like a solid idea. Similarities to Thresh and Illaoi , yet unique enough to be its own thing. very cool.

The only thing I take issue with it is

Q:

[...] stunning the first enemy hit for 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds. If the enemy hit was a Champion, a bond of arcane energy will form between Cadwyn and the affected target for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, snaring all enemies that walk through it [...]

If you're in a teamfight, chances are you're not gonna hit the back line, since you have low mobility. And the front line tanks shouldn't be walking behind their ADCs. so you _could _ snare 4 people, but it relies on them sucking. Not that its the worst thing, but why not also allow it to connect to

E- Restrained Insanity

It would give more kit synergy, and give the opportunity to make important decisions like:

''Do I stun 1 person, or cast E, bind it with Q, and use the 3 seconds to move the chain and snare multiple people?''

Last thing is, why doesn't the ult scale? be it a time thing, where the buff goes faster, or a stat scaling. otherwise the champ ends up in the bin of ''either OP or terrible'' depending on gametime and raw stats.

Thats my 2 cents, but I really like the idea [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
