Is there any updates on him, or is he getting scrapped completely at this point?
I will have to stand by Riot's comment from earlier. I would rather them take their time and bring us an awesome champ, than to rush it and drop some sht on our faces. Illaoi looks awesome, so I expect that Ao Shin will be too.
Hes delayed because riot cant decided if he should be an AD assassin or a marksmen (jk, but If hes either Im quitting, Ao Shin should be a Tank, Juggernaut or some kind of Mage-Tan thing like chogath imo). I think it has something to do with his bodys animation but i dont know. EDIT: I dont think they will scrap him because of the huge backlash we would give Riot if they did.
They said he was nearly done design wise, but they had difficulties with animating a flying serpent like creature.
I hope they won't give up on Ao Shin and that we get him in due time. As long as they work on him and don't consider scrapping him, I'm content with waiting :D
I'm going to upvote you because you did some research and I know lots of people like the concept. I just wanted to verbally express however that some of us really don't care about Ao Shin that much. There's been too many otherworldly/spiritual champions as of late. Give me a guy (or woman) with a big ass halberd that just cuts through people. I'm simple that way.
After seeing his Ability Concepts, I am hoping he is an AP Fighter champion. But we will see.
As for the champion work: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ao_Shin It is assumed he will come out early 2016. However, it is likely he will get delayed again, but I am hoping he finally does come out IN 2016.
And last but not least.... after this many years, let's hope his kit is freakin' awesome.

lets remove galeo and use ao shin instead, galeo is a useless champ in this season anyways, and ao shin could be the better version with a lot more tankyness
