(2019 update) - VIAL, the Spectrum of Colour
Fore notes: Nearly 3 years ago I created this concept, but there were some that said it was "too complicated" for LoL. I feel with Aphelios on the way that this concept is simple. I took some time to revise and edit the concept as a whole and would like some honest opinions.
Appearance This champion is a genderless humanoid that begins the game black and white. Upon selecting and casting abilities they begin to become more vibrant with the colours used and mixed. Colours swirl around and about in a playful manner. When Vial dies, the swirling colours freeze as their bright colour drains becoming black and white, then drop to the ground and shatter like glass. Auto attacks too are the colour most recently cast.
Vial is a Hybrid Caster adapt at providing supporting damage in team fights while boosting allies in the process. This champion uses the Primary colors, Red, Yellow and Blue as its Q, W and E with R being the Secondary colors achieved by mixing 2 Primary colors together to make Green, Purple or Orange. Example: Cast Q RED > Cast W BLUE = R is now PURPLE This champion does not use mana, and simply uses cooldowns.
Lore Subject Vitalized Incandescent Artifice Liquid, VIAL, was found within the old ruins of an artisan town along the road to Mt Targon. Contained within an arcane vessel no larger than one's hand was held a rare form liquid. Upon opening this phial a myriad of colours burst forth, then coalesced to a faceless form resembling the one whom released it. A living; spirit of arcane colour.
Subject VIAL is kept in containment to be studied within Lab 6 at Zaun Institute of Chemtech. VIAL has been shown to follow any order given to it without emotion. As such, it is classified under C class weaponry and must be kept under lockdown to prevent misuse.
Ability Rundown Vial does not use mana. A ‘Colour Bar’ sits under Vial’s health. This shows players what secondary colour is being held on R. R is available at level 2, as it requires two colours to mix. Using Blue then Red (or visa versa) for example, will make R purple and will stay there for 2 minutes or until used. Q, W and E level up to 5. R can be leveled up to 3, but is always available from level 2 when 2 colours are mixed.
Passive - Colour Projection As you level up, your ability cast range is increased.
Q - RED - Fury Fires a wave of red in a cone in front of you that damages enemies. Additionally allies in the cone of effect gain a decaying %AD boost.
W - YELLOW - Hope/Cowardice (Cast on Ally) - Ally is given a degrading shield, Vial is also shielded. (Cast on Enemy) - Enemy is briefly Disarmed (preventing auto attacks). Additionally the ground around them begins to spread like spilled paint slowing their allies caught in it (they themselves are not slowed). If the affected remains still the aoe will grow in place. If the enemy moves the aoe trail will thin. (Think of this pouring paint across a surface vs pouring it in place.)
E - BLUE - Stability In a circle around Vial a total of 100% MS is shared with all allies quickly decaying over 3* seconds. Enemies caught in this aoe have up to 50% MS stolen. More enemies caught will divide this %. If Vial or an ally are under the effect of CC the effect is broken at the cost of total movement speed shared. Enemies with speed boosts active have more MS stolen. (Sorry this is worded oddly. Does it make any sense?)
R - SECONDARY Green - Vigor Sends out streams of Green to heal up to 4 nearby allies. Vial is then healed for a percentage of the total amount healed.
Orange - Attention A linear skill-shot deals damage to the first enemy champion hit and provides True Sight for X seconds.
Purple - Wisdom/Arrogance (Cast on ally) - Ally - Increases healing and shields on this target for X seconds and grants bonus Adaptive dmg. (Cast on enemy) - Small adaptive DoT poison and marks target for duration. Marked target takes more damage from allies.
