Should IP Boosts be consumed on Custom Games?

I have IP Boosts but i play custom games frequently with friends burning them up much quicker, and since customs give less IP they are less rewarding or worth it. I'm not 100% sure if that's entirely fair or not, but it does seem a little crappy. What do you guys think?
