Mastery for Supports and CSing

This has probably been mentioned before but i'll make the post.

CSing seems to be a big part of getting an S rank in mastery, for supports this isn't possible. I've had some and seem some incredible support games where they had low CS and only got like a B or A rank. Maybe something something along the lines of which role you pick would change the factors for getting a decent mastery?

Huh, I just got an S rank last night. I won't say it's impossible, but I will say it's not that easy.

I'm still trying to find the actual criteria for getting S rank on supports, but you should do most of the following:

  • 60% kill + objective participation

  • a few kills, 2-3 is good enough
  • a very sharp KDA, getting 3+ KDA on supports is nothing if you know how to steal assists
  • some lane and jungle creeps, you want to have a little bit of everything if possible
  • more damage dealt
  • lots of wards bought, placed, and destroyed

Good luck.

Warding and vision denial are big parts of a support'services grade. If you're not warding or shutting down enemy wards, it will hinder your score.

Role is indeed taken into account for mastery grades, so if you're not getting an S grade, it just means enough people are doing even better than you on that champion in that role.

It's a rather common misconception that supports have it harder than other roles due to cs/kills, but since you're only being compared to others in the same role/champ combo, it's completely fair. It's just frequently the case that people aren't actually doing as good in the big picture as they think they are.

That's not how it works what it does is it takes the average stats of people who play your champion in the role you are playing and compares it to yours and if you do better you get a higher grade. (This is why playing op picks doesn't always get you an S) looking at you Lucian.

though i have seen some off the chart games where people only got an A or B, not sure what to think of that.

ah alright, so just didn't understand it. I wonder if there are guides then to each champion and how their mastery works. Thanks guys
