This has probably been mentioned before but i'll make the post.
CSing seems to be a big part of getting an S rank in mastery, for supports this isn't possible. I've had some and seem some incredible support games where they had low CS and only got like a B or A rank. Maybe something something along the lines of which role you pick would change the factors for getting a decent mastery?

I'm still trying to find the actual criteria for getting S rank on supports, but you should do most of the following:
60% kill + objective participation

GLV Beamer1 votesThat's not how it works what it does is it takes the average stats of people who play your champion in the role you are playing and compares it to yours and if you do better you get a higher grade. (This is why playing op picks doesn't always get you an S) looking at you Lucian.
Oleandervine1 votesWarding and vision denial are big parts of a support'services grade. If you're not warding or shutting down enemy wards, it will hinder your score.
Mysticman891 votesRole is indeed taken into account for mastery grades, so if you're not getting an S grade, it just means enough people are doing even better than you on that champion in that role.
It's a rather common misconception that supports have it harder than other roles due to cs/kills, but since you're only being compared to others in the same role/champ combo, it's completely fair. It's just frequently the case that people aren't actually doing as good in the big picture as they think they are.
