Recolors. We will buy them.

Allowing players to choose a color, seems simple in concept. But you know, some people just go ape over hats.

Giving us the option for a feasible amount of RP to allocate our own color/and or effect color to a champion may have it's drawbacks. But we believe in you riot. Skins do the same thing. And you can find a way to make it work.

Please leave suggestions and vote on the poll if you are interested. It only takes a second.

I'm gonna keep commenting on this, but Recolors for charity. Make it happen.

So after only receiving maybe 50 votes after 4 days. I thought I would go further into explaining in detail the concept that I'm kind of gung ho about and also add personal notes.

  1. The ability to choose your own Main/Secondary Color for a champion. Eg. Red/White Taric. Instead of Blue/Blue Taric.

  2. The ability to choose your own Main/Secondary Color for an effect that champions use. Eg. Pink Taric Stun.

  3. Someone pointed out that this is a thing of the past and a very "cheap" thing to do. Riot could easily (by easily I mean of course it's time consuming but the abilities already exist, so the work is mostly done), recolor skins and or effects.

  4. Here are some problems.

How do you make 4-5 versions of a spell/skin without consuming a large amount of space/resources? How do you present color changes in a way that is simple and elegant like the skins section.

How do you keep a champion from looking vastly unlike, the champion he represents. Perhaps a limited pallet for certain themed characters. If mf is allowed Red/Purple/Blue-purple. Or such, or twitch is allowed Green/Yellow/Orange-Yellow. Something to keep things in line with the character but offer change. Because change is good.

Do you just simply add a mechanic in the game that allows people to use a Hue slider? I mean that would be pretty cool. If from game to game I could shift my style. That's more hats than the steam market has and that's a fact.

And people love hats.

I think that would be an incredibly cheap thing for a company like Riot to do. They can afford top artists and making recolors would be an incredibly half-assed move. Recolors are thing of the past, lets keep it that way.

If they make a silver Blitzcrank for example I willing to spend around $2 if they have no custom sounds or animation.

I'd buy recolors if they treated them like fighting games do (mainly Arksys fightings game.) Where they recolor a character to have the color scheme of some other popular anime/popstar/cult icon. If you change a champion who fights with their fists to have a color scheme of blonde hair, red shirt, black belt, and red pants, some people might be able to identify it with Ken from Street Fighter.
