What are your thoughts on a melee Varus?

I've been thinking lately on Varus, one of my favorite champions in the league if not my favorite, and I have been thinking how much he severely lacks when it comes to cqb and how he gets into cqb more often than not due to stuns, slows, champions jumping to him, etc. Ranged characters are rarely EVER far enough away unless you have amazing CC teammates and they're helping or you're against a ranged champ.

So, I've been thinking how awesome it would be to gain a melee like Varus. Possibly as another champion that is Varus, but a melee counterpart? Or maybe even a toggle for him using his W. I think it would be interesting.

A lot of people said that he should stay Ranged, but no one really commented on why. I personally would love a melee Varus using twin Katana or twin curved blades made from his bow or something?

I have a feeling people don't like Varus much, but all my matches I've had with him or against him a lot of ranged fighters get into melee, and a lot can easily stand up in melee unless severely outmatched or outnumbered.

Just let me know your thoughts on a Varus Melee Champ ^_^ Whether, if you want one, whether it should be toggled or an alternate Varus, while still being Varus.
