#!!! Important !!! I do not think there is anything mechanically wrong with Amumu, however he is comparitively outdated and somewhat boring when compared with more updated champions, and some parts of his kit do not really fit the playstyle and role for the champion! These are some hypothetical changes I would make to Amumu, the Sad Mummy!

##Rework Goals:

  • Update Amumu's kit to be more thematically fitting
  • Update Amumu's kit to make him feel more at home with the evolving roster
  • Update Amumu's kit to fit his dual roles (Jungle and Tank)
  • Keep Amumu's basic playstyle's core concepts while tweaking them to add something new

Hopefully you all feel like this rework meets all of these goals!

##(P) Unnoticed: Amumu gains movement speed if he has not been revealed on the enemy's map for a short amount of time (between .5 and 1 second). This Movement speed rapidly drops off as soon as he is revealed. Furthermore, whenever an effect that would reveal an enemy on an allies map effects Amumu (i.e. entering a ward's line of site) there is a short delay between the activation of the effect on Amumu and when he is actually revealed on the map

Purpose: Amumu is, at heart, a jungler. While top lane and support amumu have been tried in the past, he finds his home in the jungle. What would a better effect be for a jungler who, lore wise, has issues with being noticed and making friends? While this is not a true invisibility, such as Evelynn's, it still assists our little mummy in setting up ganks and clearing camps while ensuring he can't udyr his way out of a fight!

##(Q) Bandage Toss: Largely unchanged.

Purpose: This is the reason people play Amumu. It's what makes him thematically. Also, it's cute to imagine him being so desperate that he's literally throwing himself at people. If there was to be a change, I would recommend either an increase in damage or a lower CD, but both are fine as is

##(W) Despair: [added] Passive component: Similar to the effect of item 3082, Amumu lowers a target's attack speed when hit with basic attacks. This attack speed scales with ability level

Purpose: Amumu is a tank. It will help him trade, and it will help him clear camps (or at least survive it!). Thematically, it still fits. You'd be hesitant to make this cutie cry even more too!

##(E) Bandage wraps !! name suggestions welcome!! Passive component: Amumu's resistances are increased by an ammount based off of the ability level (and probably resistance ratios, maybe?). Damage taken causes Amumu to store charges, up to a maximum amount.

Active component: Amumu consumes all of his stored charges, healing based off of a percentage of his max health (and charges consumed)

Purpose: Amumu's always been an awkward tank. He only ever had a minor passive on his E, tantrum, which increased his armor (which helped marginally in the jungle!) However, Tantrum itself was not thematic to the character. Amumu's character is largely based on the idea that he is sad, not angry. Tantrum was a decent damaging ability that you could spam against camps, but was only really handy for a single burst of damage after Qing onto someone. This new ability does a few things. Firstly, it feels more thematic (he's a mummy. Bandages are like, his thing). It fits his role better (He can tank a bit better and has a way to heal up damage outside of buying sustain items), and it replaces an weirdly unnecessary damaging ability. (Seriously, he's a tank who has four damaging abilities.)

##(R) Curse of The Sad Mummy The ult works in a similar fashion, but instead has a slightly longer duration and works on a ring system (similarly to zigg's ult's damage or Darius' Q.)

Inside of the inner ring (very small), Amumu does a decent amount of magic damage and stuns whoever's inside.

The Outer ring (larger) heavily slows enemies. (see: Wither)

Allies get movement speed inside of the zone

Purpose: There was nothing wrong with the original instance of Amumu's ult. A full team stun is often times a great way to make a fight happen, or turn a fight in your team's favor. However! This version fo the ult has a bit more utility (Using your ult can move your team up in lane faster, It can help you single out one target from the team, and still help your allies chunk your enemies.) Thematically, it still has much of the same effect as Amumu's original ult, with some added extras!

Well, tell me what you guys think, and thanks for Noticing me Amumu! Amumu

Hey,

I used to main amumu like die hard and he is still okay overall but he is not like he used to be reason for it for me was the change to his passive. I dont understand why riot ever changed his passive from doing 25 magic pen on max rank to 10% extra true dmg its just not the same. I tought that riot wanted to promote diversity but with changes like these they just make it impossible to play him with different builds. With the magic pen passive full tank amumu was okay and it got better with the new one but i used to play him like a bruiser and those kinds of builds are litterally impossible now. Something like cinderhulk--> boots --> rylai's --> protobelt --> zonyas --> liandry's/abbysal something like that. These items have all been changes / nerfed this last half year in benefit to tank amumu so has is passive. This is all nice and all but it only benefits 1 type of playstyle. I understand where it is comming from but im sad to see it. I would love to see his old passive come back and i think allot of his problems now will be solved with it.

The E could build stacks of "Solidarity" or, "Woe", and maybe the ability could be called Melancholy.

Like, every time he gets hit, he takes it as rejection to his presence. Or something like that.

This IS Amumu. And how many charges would the ability have? And how much would each charge affect? (Hopefully not as bad as Taric's heal).
