Replacement Players

I had a thought after yesterday's connectivity issues some players experienced.

What if you could queue as a replacement?

The idea is, veteran players (relative term) would have the option to queue as a replacement player. When the queue pops they would enter into an existing game as the plays champion who left, picking up right where the leaver left off using their masteries, runes, items, and gold.
