[Champion Concept] Maura, The Ghost Painter
Maura - The Ghost Painter
Maura was a magic user and an apprentice of the Academy until she found a way to control ink and it's colour. With this ability, she could pull pranks on students that bullied her but teachers found out this ability and sent her away from the Academy. She moved out to her aunt's home but it got raided by bandits soon after; bandits killed them both. Her soul didn't find peace because of her incapability to save her aunt and her ghost started to roam and practice. With her ghost form, she could do much more than pranks and she found out this when she ripped the bandits apart, one by one. After that, she started to search for bandits and bullies.
Type: Support Caster / Mage
Abilities
Passive - Rainbow
Maura gains the benefits of her last spell. She gains the benefits twice if she mixes two inks (spells). She gains a temporary boost to all her abilities and stats (in addition to the benefits) when she uses all three colours (except black/ultimate).
Q - Red
When used on an ally, Maura increases the attack damage and attack range of the ally for a duration. When used on a terrain, she creates a clone of herself on the battlefield that melee attacks nearby enemies and launches herself back. The launch distance is the same between her and the clone location. (i.e. When she creates a clone 250 units to her right, she launches herself left 250 units and creates a distance that is twice of the cast distance.) The clone prioritises the enemy champions when in range; if they attack Maura, the clone moves to attack the opponent that attacked Maura (otherwise the clone is not mobile).
W - Green
When used on an ally, Maura increases the movement speed of the ally and they both gain the ability to move through units for a duration. When used on a terrain, she creates a circular area that slows enemies. When the duration of the spell ends, the enemies that still are in the zone gets rooted. Enemies that are in the zone get a moderate damage over time.
E - Blue
When used on an ally, Maura increases mana regeneration and ability power of an ally for a duration. When used on a terrain, she creates two portals in the terrain and the champions are moved between these portals (minions only get damaged). Every champion can move through the portals only once. Enemies get damaged moderately when they go through the portal.
R - Black
Maura lowers the status of an enemy "champion" to "minion" for the enemy team. The skills that only can be used on champions can't be used on the champion for the duration. The spell also applies base damage + damage over time.
Explanation: She denies every single ability that only can be done on champions (like Soraka's heal) and applies a moderate damage. For her team, nothing changes.
Now it gets interesting... Maura can combine the spells (except her ultimate) before applying on an ally. This way, spells get extra effects.
Q + W = Yellow
When used on an ally, Maura increases the attack damage, attack range, movement speed of the ally and they both gain the ability to move through units for a duration. They also get bonus health for every hit they do during the spell's effect.
Q + E = Magenta
When used on an ally, Maura increases the attack damage, attack range, mana regeneration and ability power of an ally for a duration. They do bonus magic damage per hit and slow the opponent during the spell's effect.
W + E = Cyan
When used on an ally, Maura increases the mana regeneration, ability power, movement speed of the ally and they both gain the ability to move through units for a duration. They also get bonus magic resist and armour for the duration.
Q + W + E = White
When used on an ally, Maura increases the attack damage, attack range, mana regeneration, ability power, the movement speed of the ally and they both gain the ability to move through units for a duration. The ally gets immune to Blind, Charm, Fear, Flee, Silence and Slow for the latter half of the spell duration and her cooldowns are lowered by 1 second for every champion the ally kills.
How do you mix the spells?
I thought of 2 possible ways;
1 - You use these spells consecutively, without an interruption. Normally the game replaces the spell when you press the button for another spell. For this champion, this can be adjusted to mixing, thus combining spells.
2 - Player may cast the ability on herself (this shouldn't be an issue since she doesn't have a single self-cast spell) for mixing purposes. Then add another by simply using the spell on an ally. Or self-cast that too to add the last colour. You cannot the same colour twice (duh!). The duration for mixing is the most cd duration of these three colours. (ie. If the CD's are "12|10|6", it's 12 seconds.)
When you combine the colours, you discard the ability to use it on enemies.
I hope you like it. Don't forget to comment! (:
Edit 1: "Mixing" will have the longest cooldown of whatever her spells have at any given moment. Let's say you have 12/10/6 cooldowns on your skills (Ulti is irrelevant cause you can't mix it). Whenever you start mixing or add colours to the mix, the cooldown of it will be 12 seconds (even if you only mix W & E which have 10/6 seconds). That way you can't spam the abilities you max out first but you'll be doing them faster and faster with each level. If you go for a balanced distribution, you'll have a moderate cooldown and moderate damage.
Mixing has the longest skill cooldown (other than the ultimate) Maura has for her abilities.
But you can do Q+W, apply on an ally, do E on terrain right afterwards. Only the mixed paints will go on cooldown; not all 3 of them.
Mixed effects will have lower effects than single abilities. They won't have the same ratio.
The idea behind this is, Maura is preparing the paint while waiting and she can apply any time while preparing it. If she adds another paint to the mixture, cooldown starts again and she has that time to choose. Or simply don't apply and go for a single spell. So basically you can see her mixing the spells, but you may not know what she'll actually do with it. Kinda like old Katarina skill Killer Instinct. You can see the spell effect on her but you can never know if she'll use Q or E, or even use any spell.
Her casting is interruptible. So you always have a chance to interrupt her spell before she applies.
