**Passive: Arcane mastery **Ryze gains 5% increased maximum mana per 100 AP. REMOVED: Ryze’s spells deal extra damage based off his bonus mana.

**R: Desperate power (could probably use a better name but meh) ** Innate: Ryze cannot level up Desperate power, but can instead put six ranks into all his basic abilities TOGGLE: Ryze’s spells deal extra damage based off his maximum mana.

Cost: Drains mana per second, not sure about exact numbers, but substantial. Maybe % max mana or just high scaling with level so that he still has to think about using it late game.

**Proposed ability base numbers if interested since everything has an extra rank. ** **Q: Overload **AP ratio: (40% AP) >> (+50%AP)

**W: Rune prison **Base Damage: 80/100/120/140/160 >> 80/100/120/140/160/180
Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 >> 14/13/12/11/10/9
Mana cost: 50/60/70/80/90 >> 50/60/70/80/90/100

E: Spell flux Damage: 70/90/110/130/150 >> 50/70/90/110/130/150 + (40% AP)
Cooldown: 3.25/3/2.75/2.5/2.25 >> 3/2.75/2.5/2.25/2/1.75
Mana cost: 60/70/80/90/100 >> 50/60/70/80/90/100

R: Spell max mana damage: Q: 3% W: 4% E: 2%
Cooldown: 5 seconds Mana cost: 25+25 per second active

As someone whose played Ryze back then, and still an avid Ryze player (Previous account, of course. Had nearly 250k points on him) Desperate power as an ability was never healthy for him. It was the root of why people hated him just as much as brand. I appreciate how Riot kept his identity whilst removing this ability, still being a spam mage. Even then, he's hard to balance since he's weak in the hands of someone who hasn't mastered him (Much like Azir )

So old Ryze ult?

Can't see a reason for this to be a toggle because I can't see a situation where you'd want it toggled off. It'd just end up being a passive ultimate that's half of what his passive use to be. Overall you've just taken away his ult and slapped half of his passive on instead and given nothing new to the champ.

Seems a tad pointless. [sg-lux-2]

Maybe the ult could drain a percent of his missing mana, and disable all forms of mana regen while it's active?

Okay maybe I wasn’t clear, but this Desperate Power is NOT the same as old Desperate power, I am aware how busted that used to be and how unhealthy it was. Sorry for the confusion, probably shouldve picked a different name.
