Ryze revert concept
So I've been thinking about a way to revert Ryze. Why? I'm bored. Old Ryze was a champion based on the idea of "Windows of power" he was busted because of his infinite root combo, lack of counter play and difference in performance between pros and solo que. This revert concept keeps basically everything the same but with some changes to his ultimate.
Here's a quick recap of what Ryze's old kit used to be.
Arcane mastery Ryze gains an Arcane Mastery stack for 6 seconds every time he uses an ability, stacking up to 5 times. At 5 stacks, Ryze becomes supercharged for his next 5 ability casts or for 2.5 − 5 (based on Overload's Rank) seconds, shielding himself for 25 − 110 (based on level) (+ 8% maximum mana) and causing his supercharged ability casts to reduce each of his cooldowns by Overload's amount.
Overload Passive: Arcane Mastery's supercharged effect gains increased duration. Active: Ryze unleashes a runic blast in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy struck.
Magic Damage: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 55% AP) (+ 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4% maximum mana) Cooldown: 4
Rune Prison Active: Ryze instantly deals magic damage and roots the target enemy for 1 second.
Magic Damage: 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+ 40% AP) (+ 2.5% maximum mana) Cooldown: 14
Spell Flux Active: Ryze hurls an orb of runic energy at the target enemy, dealing magic damage and reducing their magic resistance for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.
After striking the target, the orb splits and bounces to Ryze and up to 6 nearby enemies around the primary target, dealing the same magic damage to each. The secondary orbs then bounce back to the primary target (deals half the initial damage)
Magic Damage: 36 / 52 / 68 / 84 / 100 (+ 20% AP) (+ 2% maximum mana) Maximum Damage: 144 / 208 / 272 / 336 / 400 (+ 80% AP) (+ 8% maximum mana) Cooldown: 7 seconds
Minimum Reduction: 6/7/8/9/10% R: Desperate power Passive: Ryze gains Desperate power whenever he procs arcane mastery, gaining movespeed and causing his spells to deal % aoe damage around the original target Movespeed: 10/20/30% AOE damage: 30/40/50%
The idea is that since the ultimate is a passive it cannot be used to stack arcane mastery or reset the cooldowns of his abilities with arcane mastery. Also means that it is harder for Ryze players to actually get the jump on enemies by surprising them with the instant cast Desperate power. This in theory, nerfs the perma root combo. Not only that but it also enforces the "Windows of power" Philosophy.
Now in exchange for Desperate power being available basically every five spell casts, I nerfed his W duration scaling and his E Mr shred. I didn't give him spell vamp because I feel he would already get enough from runes (Ravenous hunter).
So in conclusion. Idk I just had this as a random thought and decided to post it. So yeah, I'm pretty sure its just a nerf over what he used to be but who knows.
P.S. If they did revert Ryze they should make his passive look similar to Annie's cause it used to be hard to see and totally baited people.
