Yasuo Rework Idea

I really doubt anyone's going to enjoy this, and I doubt it'll be taken seriously by riot but I figure I'd post it anyways.

Now most of the issue with the current yasuo kit is way too tanky and does way too much damage.

I've elected to design this rework.

some things of note:

  • yes, I am aware that precise strikes is very similar to Ashe new passive. That was done somewhat intentionally. Most yasuos wind up with 90-100% crit anyway.

  • Resolve no longer grants a shield. functionally it does a similar thing to its predecessor of the same name, but instead of completely negating the damage (as if it was a free item 3102) it now mitigates some damage

  • I removed his wind wall completely and instead turned it into something like a parry.

Yasuo is thematically based off of Musashi Miyamoto, who was known for his quick work with the blade. Keeping with that theme, I think he should be less tanky in lane (with his current Resolve skill literally negating attacks every few seconds)

His wind wall can shut down large amounts of the team at a time (when you consider that most supports are ranged, most mid laners are ranged, and that nearly every single ADC is ranged), essentially negating their damage.

Passive - Precise Strikes

Yasuo always has a 100% chance to crit. His crits deal (75+50% attack speed)% in attack damage. (meaning that the total would be, of course, 200 at max attack speed).

Resolve - As yasuo moves about, he gains stacks of Flow. at 100 stacks of resolve, the next damage he takes is reduced by 35%

Q - steel tempest

no changes.

W - Like The Wind

activating this will have yasuo prep his blade for 1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5 seconds. he can still move around at this time

if he is hit with a ranged attack, he simply blocks the ranged attack.

if he is hit with a melee attack he blocks the attack and deals 50% of the enemy's attack's damge +25/30/35/40/45% of his attack damage to them an attack, which can crit.

E - Sweeping blade no changes.

R - last breath same, but instead of armor pen: instantly generates max stacks of resolve and can cast sweeping blade on allies for 3 seconds.

I voted no. I really like the concept, but I voted no since I would like you to expand on it. Marked my suggestions and questions with asterisks (*).

  1. The new passive is just free crit without a trade off - 90% crit - since it will allow Yasuo to just build Attack speed and Attack Damage, and IE will be even stronger on him. The second part sounds really random (the +movespeed if no crit lands (10% chance of it happening)) and I feel that Resolve is enough. The Damage reduction on Resolve could be lowered a bit, but I like it way more than complete damage negation or the current Flow shield Yasuo has. * Maybe if Flow is fully stacked, he gains bonus movespeed instead?*

  2. The idea that his attack speed/critical damage/critical chance influences his actual critical damage is neat, albeit confusing @.@ . It could be made more like Ashe's Critical Strikes. * I was thinking along the lines of removing his base AD and scaling the damage of his abilities and autoattacks off of his bonus crit chance/attack speed/crit damage. He will always (100%) critically strike, however, he will rely more on items to give him those "damage" stats that he needs, and he will be discouraged from buying many of the AD items - armor penetration, lifesteal, even Infinity Edge since his critical damage would now be relying on crit chance/ crit damage/ attack speed, and not just critical damage/Attack Damage. It would make him more of a duelist/assassin than an all around fighter since I feel that is how he is most effective.*

  3. The new W-ability sounds a lot like Jax's E - Counterstrike. I like your concept more than the current Windwall, because the current feels so useless against melee champions and too good against Ranged champions. The only problem is its duration and how many auto attacks it will block/mitigate. * Were you thinking a charge based system? like it only blocks a few auto attacks, or only one auto attack and it goes on cooldown? Maybe it can use Flow as a resource, like 50 flow to use with a few seconds of cooldown, this would make it even more so that Yasuo is encouraged to be Like the Wind, constantly in motion.*

  4. The sweeping blade on allies from his new Last Breath feels forced - Resolve and the new W "Like the Wind" are good enough defensive abilities. Could just make his Resolve AND his Like the Wind refresh once Last Breath has been casted. Last Breath could also grant Yasuo tenacity or bonus movespeed once its been casted and decay a while after.

That is all. Your concept let me see a different perspective and I would like to see more. P.S. I love that you included movespeed in the passive, because it reminded me how the current Yasuo is more Like a Stone than Like the Wind, lol.

This sounds incredible stupid, so you want to give him a banshee, a 3.5 second long parry that scales with ad, and a passive that acts like a free exhaust anytime he gets stacks with a free phage or a free critical that procs frenzy.

This shit won't fly.

~~ ~~

Passive - Precise Strikes

Yasuo always has a 100% chance to crit. His crits deal (75+50% attack speed)% in attack damage. (meaning that the total would be, of course, 200 at max attack speed).

Resolve - As yasuo moves about, he gains stacks of Flow. at 100 stacks of resolve, the next damage he takes is reduced by 35%

~~ ~~ Instead of creative and fun mechanic you want to give him tons of crits and some boring damage reduction effect? No, he is already too op, and you want him crit even more?

~~ ~~

W - Like The Wind

activating this will have yasuo prep his blade for 1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5 seconds. he can still move around at this time

if he is hit with a ranged attack, he simply blocks the ranged attack.

if he is hit with a melee attack he blocks the attack and deals 50% of the enemy's attack's damge +25/30/35/40/45% of his attack damage to them an attack, which can crit.

~~ ~~ So, instead of creative and unique wind wall ability you want to make into simple boring parry skill? Even op at that? Yea, just let him black all enemies attack and see what happens. You can't just make op shits op and hope for the to fly.

"as I've told you many times, there are ideas that are conceptually broken. please fix your kits before you post, or please stop wasting riot's server space with this. you can't find a neato burrito picture and just decide that you want it to be a champion" burn, doesn't it?
