Orion Lash "The Pathfinder"

Origins: Ironspike Mountains Known Relatives: [Parents]: Issac and Alexis Lash (Status: deceased), [Sister]: Lynn Lash (Status: Unknown) Allies: Caitlyn, Jayce, Ezreal Rivals: Anyone in his way Most effective role: Jungler Weapons: Combat Knife/Pistol

Lore: When Orion was young, he and his family lived in a small village in the Ironspike Mountains. He and his sister were always out in the woods hunting so they were both very familiar and comfortable in the forest. One day, the village was attacked, Orion's parents were killed but he and his sister ran off into their hunting grounds. They were followed so they used their traps and were able to get away. They ran for nearly an entire day before they came to the coast of the Guardians Sea, there was only two ways to go from there, Piltover or Zaun. They chose to go to Piltover and seek help. They walked for another day, laying traps along the way. They made it to the city and found a man named Jayce, he took them to the sheriffs office, and there they met Caitlyn. Caitlyn allowed them to stay there with her until they made sure they weren't followed. They stayed in Piltover for a week, but one night while Orion and his sister were sleeping, someone broke into the building. The noise woke Orion up but as soon as he realized what was happening, he was hit in the temple and knocked unconscious. When he awoke, Caitlyn and Jayce were at his bedside. Caitlyn had tears in her eyes. Lynn had been kidnapped that night and there was nothing Orion could do. After he had healed, he grabbed a knife, pistol and some extra gear and left Piltover, on a mission to find his little sister, a vengeful anger in his heart.

I think this is a great place to start, and with some polish the jungle tracking mechanic could be made really cool! At the moment there are a few issues with Orion to work out.

His Kit Judging by his lore, I got the impression of a flighty, trap-based fighter who wants to set up traps and make picks for his team. The theme of laying traps isn't delivered upon by most of his kit, his one trap doesn't interact with any of his other spells and simply feels more like a placeholder right now. Overall, his kit seems extremely stat-checky. Point and click damage on Q like Parrrley, point and click pounce like Rengar passive on W, and a massive range blink/nuke that is also a point and click. On top of that his passive is just providing him with raw stats rather than something that he can actually play around. There isn't much room for skill expression nor is there much for the enemy to play around. Orion seems like a champion that will beat you every time if you meet him in the jungle, but in a fight in lane he will be next to useless.

I recommend shaking his kit up a bit. Tripwire is an interesting spell that his kit could work with, but as a standalone it's very lackluster. Also, consider what Orion would do if he were ganking a lane? Everything about him is designed for ambushes in the jungle and chasing down a fleeing target. If he is fighting someone head on and has no advantage he seems 100% to lose, and his ganks feel like they would be very weak since he has no tools to get to or lock down an enemy laner when he exits the jungle.

I would recommend changes to his passive, ult and W at the very least. Make the passive from his ultimate become his actual passive, it allows him to track enemies/see where they have been in order to know their paths, hunt them down, or lay traps where he thinks they may go. Give the man something that can miss!

Suggestions for a cool ability: A huge net trap he can lay on the map with a large range for placing it, enemies who step in it are knocked up for 2-3 seconds or something. It would make a cool ulti and let him make picks in lane as well as jungle if he can predict his enemies movements.

What if tripwire didn't slow/give any indication that it had been triggered? Orion just gets vision and a bunch of movement speed towards the target or something?

I like the fear on his W, it would work nicely with his track/ambush theme, but at the moment it is simply a souped up rengar passive. He needs something that would make him able to gank a lane, and this slot would be a good place for it.

Of course, these are only ideas and you can go with whatever you want. But definitely try to make him a viable ganker and not just a stat-check that can't leave the jungle.
