CCOS Champion Concept, Laminas
There was a period of 3 months some time ago where my laptop broke and I couldn't play League of Legends. However, I was fond enough of the game that I decided to make some champion concepts to pass the time. If anyone wants to use this idea for something- I fully give permission to go nuts. Laminas was my favorite champion concept by far, probably because he's a walking Easter Egg for Final Fantasy.
Name: Laminas, the Heroic Blade
Role: Primary- Fighter (Diver) Secondary- Assassin (Slayer) Race: Human Birthplace: Piltover Faction: Piltover Friends: Lux, Ezreal Rivals: Talon, Katarina
Abilities: Innate: Dancing Swords Laminas' basic attacks grant stacks of Blade-Bonding, stacking up to 3 times. The stacks will fade away one at a time when he stops attacking at 1 every 3 seconds. When Laminas reaches 3 stacks the next time a champion, cannon/siege minion, or epic monster damages him- his swords will whirl around him to grant a shield, blocking (80 + 20 x Level) damage. Duration is for 5 seconds. The shield has a 20 - 11 second cooldown (lowers by 1 every 2 levels) that starts when the shield is triggered, this cannot be reduced by CDR. Killing a champion will reset the cooldown timer, allowing another shield to be created once the first one expires or is destroyed. Laminas can only have one shield at a time. Note: Even with the shield's CD being reset, the interaction with the E still means he can't gain stacks until the E is off cooldown
Q: Sword of the Night Laminas throws his sword to the target area- damaging all enemies it strike on they way. Laminas can reactivate the ability to jump to the sword's location or wait for the sword to return after it expires. Physical Damage - 50 / 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 (+ 100% bonus AD) [Deals 10% less damage for every target struck, minimum is 50%] Maximum duration sword can stay in place: 5 seconds, after which it will return to Laminas Cooldown - 24 / 21 / 18 / 15 / 12 seconds (Starts after sword is picked up via activation or returned to Laminas by duration expiring) Cast Range - 900 Dash Range - 1000 Mana - 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 Laminas can be CC'd from reaching his sword. Note: Think of it like Olaf's axe but you can jump to it. And the cooldown will not start until you get the sword back. Also the width is fairly small- similar to Jinx Zap or Jhin W.
W: Lone Lion Gunblade Laminas deals physical damage to all nearby enemies in a circle around him and slows them for 1.5 seconds. The ability can be activated again for same mana cost for 2 more seconds after the first activation before it begins cooldown. Caps out at two uses in total. Will deal an extra 10% damage to enemy champions. Physical Damage - 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230) (+ 70% bonus attack damage) Slow - 14% / 21% / 28% / 35% / 42% (hitting them again will not increase the slow but will refresh duration) Cooldown (begins after 2nd use or 2nd use chance wears off) - 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 seconds Radius - 250 Mana - 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100
E: Angelic Dualsword Passive: For every stack of Blade Bonding Laminas has from his innate ability, he gains bonus attack speed. Attack Speed - 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% Active: Laminas' next basic attacks will be double strikes, dealing double damage and applying on-hit effects twice. Each time he attacks with a double-strike it will consume one stack and cost the bonus attack speed associated with it. Laminas will not gain stacks after using the active until the ability is off CD. Cooldown - 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 seconds Mana - 50 for active
R: Strife Blade Laminas leaps to target enemy champion and strikes a powerful blow, dealing physical damage. The ability can only be activated after he has struck a foe with at least one ability or auto-attack within the last 5 seconds. For each damage source he has landed on the target previously, a glowing copy of himself will strike with the additional swords, each increasing the damage by 30% of his bonus attack damage per copy. Physical Damage - 300 / 400 / 500 (+30% bonus attack damage) Cooldown - 100 / 80 / 60 Range - 300 Mana - 100 _Note: His W counts as one "damage source" no matter how many times he hits an enemy with it, as do his auto-attacks. So he can achieve a maximum of 3 copies in addition to the actual dash because his E isn't a new damage source- just a modifier. _
Lore "The dream of heroes is for their story to live on long after they do, but what happens to those whose stories are forgotten?"
The city-state of Piltover has its share of nobility, as does any place, one such family had once been prevalent in social circles but financial troubles had crippled the family business; the parents had fled the debtors, leaving their only son behind for reasons unknown. The young Laminas was placed into foster care; he was a quiet child, often sneaking away from the other children to read in the library. Through the books he learned of other lands, Ionia, Demacia, Noxus - there was a world out there to be traveled through and discovered - and legends of heroes inspired him to go off on his own. Laminas decided his path in life was to explore, to travel the lengths and width of Valoran. One night he left, leaving only a note behind saying, 'Nobody will miss me, but there's a whole world out there for me to find.'
The young man became a veteran explorer, demonstrating remarkable wit and fast reflexes to bypass traps and evade dangers while he wandered, more often than not finding forgotten troves of treasure. He was unusual for his preference for treasures, leaving the obvious relics of high price but favoring the small things so he could uncover their past. Many called him a lunatic, but he felt a special attachment to the lost items, perhaps remembering his own abandonment. Despite his apparent ability, Laminas was not often sought out for expeditions. His social skills were lacking, he often spoke only when spoken to, on occasion not even looking at his clients once after they hired him. It appeared he preferred the company of books more than people, his small house was reported to be home to tomes innumerable. He made a few friends along his travels, making fast pals with Ezreal as they explored together and once meeting Lux as she was running from some Noxian guards. Both encounters were brief, yet they softened the cold shell Laminas showed the world- Lux in particular gave him a fierce scolding after he didn't speak to her for an hour, causing the young man to blush.
One day, traveling through an unknown jungle, he found himself being chased by some beast, Laminas glimpsed teeth and glowing green eyes before he ran, the roar of the creature echoing behind him as the ground trembled beneath his feet. He suddenly fell down a hidden hole into an underground city, long abandoned, judging by the dust. Picking himself up, he wandered about the lifeless village. He came upon what looked like a temple with a long, winding stairway leading up to a door. Upon entering the room, he noticed four rust-covered swords arranged in a square, each older than the last by the looks of them. He wondered who had wielded them in the past, for clearly they had all seen heavy use.
The door suddenly sealed itself behind him as the blades rose into the air and began circling him, taunting him with knowledge of a thousand stories never told. Inexplicably, Laminas understood what the swords wanted- they wanted to be important to someone again, they wanted a place to belong. Laminas was familiar with the feeling and so made a decision. Accepting the pact, Laminas bonded with the swords - the rust streamed from the legendary weapons, each being returned to its former glory. Laminas felt the inherent power within the weapons entering him, strengthening him, changing him.
Exiting the cavern, Laminas saw a massive void-beast standing before him, but no longer did he run in fear. The blades flashed in the light as he fought- hurling a thin black sword at the creature. The sword stuck into the back as the creature roared- swiping at a nearby boulder and hurling a swarm of stones at Laminas. His other blades leaped into action, whirling around him to deflect the debris as he ran forwards, whirling around in a circle with a gun-shaped blade in hand, once, twice, cutting at the legs of the creature. The mighty beast was not finished, roaring and swiping at Laminas. The blow caught him and sent him sprawling as the beast dove towards him- mouth agape and exposing its teeth. Laminas felt an instinctive knowledge of his sword and willed himself to join the black blade- disappearing in a blur from where he had been and appearing on the creature's back. Drawing out a staff with a sword on either end- he repeatedly cut at the monster and it roared in fury- rearing back and throwing him into the air. Laminas kept his calm and placed a hand on the largest of his weapons, a massive sword nearly the length he was. As he descended he drew the blade and struck a mighty blow- to his astonishment- copies of himself had grabbed the other swords as well- striking the creature in unison with him. Landing on the ground as the creature staggered and exposed its throat- Laminas jumped forwards and struck the final blow- defeating the monster. The weapons floated back to him as he decided on his new future.
"I've read about heroes long enough, it's time to write my own story!"
Appearance A slight young man with a mess of dark hair hanging to his shoulders and getting in his eyes, attached to the many dreads are ornaments and small treasures he has found in his journeys. His tunic is a dark grey with an upright collar trimmed in blue, the tunic extends to about his knees. He wears several belts to accommodate a pouch on his left side, the sheathed Sword of the Night on his right, and the Lone Lion Gunblade on his left. The Strife Blade is a double-edged greatsword as tall as Laminas is and he carries it strapped to his back in a sheath, the weapon seems to have a set of three holes near the bottom of the blade- when using his ult energy can be seen emerging from them and leaving a thin trail following the arc of the weapon.

Degraded Laminas An alternate vision where the swords do not give Laminas hope and courage- but rage and pride. The weapons are dark and stained with the blood of the fallen. Laminas himself has donned pieces of dark metal armor and wears a red cape that billows behind him as he searches for foes to slay and swords to claim.
