Why I feel the new Gangplank E sucks

Lets just imagine a fight down mid lane, gangplank throws down his barrels and the enemy adc, who has range away from the barrels can just remove them out of the scenario. So you are out of what is now part of your main source of dmg where as before you could just use your E initiate in and everyone has a buffed move speed and dmg output. So I ask how are the barrels good in fights and should they just revert the E change to gangplank?

Its actually not bad in fact very easy and rewarding. Just have to get use to it, put a barrel down away from the enemy but close enough to chain onto then enemy. Once the last tick of your barrel is up put another barrel next to the enemy but chain the explosion and immediately hit your first barrel. I personally perfer to hit the barrel with my Q cause any CS caught in the explosion goes towards SS but regardless walla barrels are fun. Later in the game it isn't bad ether cause the 'ticks' of the barrel go down much faster.

GPs e can be monstrous when you can establish and enemy doesn't have vision in a certain area they are likely to enter and can set up a trap.

E.g. was blue side, had a ward between dragon and red buff, saw enemy elise get raptor buff and looking for ward as i was leaving base (and i could take her easily) so i head towards my jungle, first bush GP is waiting with at least 3 barrels set up and i died within 1 second of entering the bush. At most elo's, even with a good support using their 3 wards and you personally using extra wards (e.g. upgraded trinket, 2-3 wards out at s time) the jungle can't possibly be covered and GP can pull off some serious cheese. Dragon and Baron bushes can be good opportunities as well.

I think it's overpowered. You can proc AOE slows and Critical strikes. Not only that, with trinity force Ganplank closes gaps quickly with Help from E.
