So today, I played some league games and i was wondering why I kept on getting 600+ ping spikes when I now should get 30-40 ping. This is really frustrating for me because, I feel like I am even more handicapped when I play. If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening please comment below. Thanks!
I'm no networks expert, I think some ISP's keep trying to redirect the traffic to Portland (where the servers use to be), where it's then forwarded to Chicago, which results in higher ping. The more times the information changes hands, the more likely it is to get dropped, adding even more delay.
I'm pretty positive all the issues will resolve themselves in a few weeks though.
This has happened me all day today (8-30-15) and I've been getting so upset about this. Hours later, after I reset the modem and my laptop and everything else that I can reset, my ping is constant again, BUT, now during game there are HUUUUUGE packet loss issues, while again, my ping stays exactly the same. I honestly hope Riot fixes this, and if it's not on Riots side, I guess I can't play League anymore.
