Riot does RP skin sales. How about adding a 10x IP price for those skins just on sale. This would allow veteran players to eventually (and depending on multiplier) and very quickly burn up their IP.

Example from this sale Star Guardian Lux original 1350rp sale 675rp. Maybe allow IP purchase at 13500 (or maybe 6750). The multiplier can be set up by Riot.

Maybe I don't understand the business model goal for RP skin sales. But it seems like a good way to allow IP to have a purpose. But it is only luxury and very expensive. 13000 x 10 = 100,000 IP so people will burn through it soon. For new players they can have a goal to collect IP, although it would take a long time. And since it is time limited, you still have to choose between waiting for the rotation or just buying it full rp.

Just an idea. Maybe they don't like taking away $$ just to reduce IP.

Riot would lose too much money by doing so.

Who would buy skins for RP when they know skins will be on IP sale in the future. They will just grind games to get mass IP, obviously there would be much more IP farming bots too.

Yeah way to much money would be lost thats why they give skin shards and not skins

But we are the consumers, not the company. That seems to be a major problem with these boards as a whole. Why do we defend Riot? Let Riot defend themselves, I am simply asking the consumers if they think this idea is a decent way to IP sink.

If Riot doesn't like it, of course they won't implement it. If users don't like it, that is fine. but having users constantly defend Riot like they have stock in the company makes no sense.

Sure we appreciate Riot. We don't want them to die. But we aren't actively killing them by throwing out ideas.

Well of course. I would not say no to free stuff, especially when it's skins.

I'm a veteran player myself and there are only just a very few champions I didn't buy yet because I'm not interested in them. I'm currently saving up IP for the next chroma IP sale most likely in august/october.

I'd also like to have a new IP sink in the game, but I wouldn't like the idea of getting skins for IP, because I spent multiple hundreds of Euros into the game over the years, almost all of that went into skins. Having the possibility to just grind the game instead of spending real money to get what I was previously paying money for would feel like a slap in the face.

Fair enough on that feedback then, that is the purpose of discussion. Not to discuss the financial complications for Riot, although those are fine points as well. But just shooting down an idea because "Lol Riot loses" is not a great argument, especially for the consumers.

Do you feel like you wasted your time even if the skins were on super limited schedules like the chromas? My idea tried to incorporate limiting time availability to still incentive paying with RP.

But again fair enough just an idea until other people come up with another/better IP sink.

Well for the time being I'm super excited for the mission system they're working on right now.

They could implement something like a casino thingy. Where you can bet IP and roll the dice or something. It wouldn't be a classic lottery with the restriction of being adult, because you don't play for real money or similiar things.

I imagine that would have potential to be a great IP sink.

I could see letting some of the cheaper, say, 450 RP skins be on sale for some IP value, but probably not the Ultimate or Legendary skins.

With hextech crafting in place I think Riot would be insane if they just started handing out free discount skins for IP. Unfortunatly never going to happen.

Just saying the older community wants a cool IP sink and this is one possible way. It is still limited by a random sale schedule. And they can jack therice as ,uch as they want.
