Unifying Factions across Gameplay
So, a lot of the champions who belong to factions obviously have very similar aesthetics. Demacia's white, gold and blue colour scheme and winged crests, Noxus' blood red colouration and skulls, The Shadow Isles' spooky green and teal colouring and ethereal flames and spirit fire of course.
But what if steps were taken to, at least partially, unify champions based on their gameplay by faction as well? Obviously champions cannot be too similar based purely on faction, champions in different roles and positions can't have too much overlap. I had this idea when I noticed that Zz'rot portal, Baron Nashor's buff, and Rift Herald all revolved around pushing lanes and creating objective taking pressure. They're also all tied to the void from a thematic aspect. Likewise a lot of Noxus champs are strong early game bullies, Darius, Draven, Talon, LeBlanc, Sion support, they have few hard scaling champs. The majority of Ionia champs are highly mobile mostly because of the ninja martial arts aesthetic they share, and a lot of the Ionia based weapons like ghost blade and lucidity boots favour caster heavy champs.
What do you guys think, is it worth pursuing this sort of gameplay-faction synergy, even partially?
