Vae, the prince of grief
Lore - Vae was born to the shadow isles, but quickly grew tired of the pain and suffering that it endorsed. He left the isle for a happier place, but he could not escape what he was. A being of mist and shadow Vae was persecuted in every city he visited. Pain and suffering followed him wherever he went until he could no longer handle it. Giving in to his true nature he became the lord of sorrow and now roams the earth to bring terror to those who would ignore the suffering of those long since lost. Some believe Vae to be the child of the Ruined King, and that it was Vae that drove his father into grief and death, however no one knows for sure if this is true.
Strategy - Vae is a longer ranged disruptor who is most effective while keeping his distance and forcing enemies to focus on dodging his attacks rather than farming or attacking allies. In lane Vae can use his passive to disrupt enemies that like to poke him, and get away from more dangerous situations with his fear. In team fights he is able to cause massive disruption with his ultimate and extending his passive duration via his W.

Abilities
Passive - Aberrant Woes -
Every 60 seconds, if an enemy targets Vae with an ability or auto attack they are affected with apparitions. Skill shots do not apply this effect. An affected enemy has their vision ranged reduced to 1300 units, lose all allied vision, and they suffer misty apparitions for the next 12 seconds. An apparition appears every 2 seconds 200 units into the mist (where the affected champion cannot see) and charges on a direct path toward the affected champion (6 apparitions over the duration). Other enemies and allies can see these apparitions, but they appear much more translucent. Other enemies are also unaffected by them. The apparition soldiers spawn and after a 0.3 second delay charge forth with ~600 movement speed. Each apparition deals 10% of the target’s maximum health +(30% AP) in magic damage if it collides with them.
‘Aberrant Woes’ is Vae’s main source of damage, although it may seem very powerful enemies will find it easy to dodge his apparitions if that is their focus. The purpose is for these to be a deterrent to enemies. They can either focus on dodging and most likely make it out unhindered, or fight and risk being hit multiple times.
**Q - Cursed Memories - Cooldown: 22/20/18/16/14 - Cost: 75 mana - Range: 600 - **
After channeling for 1 second Vae causes the target enemy to flee. Enemies that are fleeing do not have their speed reduced by 33%, but instead increased by 60%. After the fear ends, the enemy is slowed significantly for 2 seconds.
- Fear duration: 1 seconds, 40% slow
- Fear duration: 1.5 seconds, 50% slow
- Fear duration: 2 seconds, 60% slow
- Fear duration: 2.5 seconds, 70% slow
- Fear duration: 3 seconds, 80% slow
Cursed Memories allows Vae to play it safe when threatened by short ranged opponents. By fearing an enemy who has just attacked him Vae can force an enemy afflicted with ‘Aberrant Woes’ to run in a straight line almost guaranteeing one hit (since the apparitions will lead their target). After it ends they are slowed, increasing the chance of a second hit. Fiddlestick's fear is 2.25 seconds on a 11s cd at max rank, it also slows you 33% for the whole duration.
W - Restless Mind - Cooldown: 40/38/36/34/32 - Cost: 100 mana -
**Passive:** Enemies who are affected by 'Aberrant Woes' have their sight ranged reduced even further, causing the apparitions to spawn closer to them as well.
**Active:** Refreshes the duration of all enemies inflicted with ‘Aberrant Woes,’ if an enemy dies to one of the apparitions, the cooldown of this ability is refreshed.
- Sight reduction: 100 units (max vision is now 1200).
- Sight reduction: 200 units (max vision is now 1100).
- Sight reduction: 300 units (max vision is now 1000).
- Sight reduction: 400 units (max vision is now 900).
- Sight reduction: 500 units (max vision is now 800).
The passive effect on Restless Mind causes enemies who are already afflicted with ‘Aberrant Woes’ to have greater trouble dodging the apparitions. This means they must focus more on when and where the apparitions are coming or risk fighting and getting hit.
**E - Apparition - Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 - Cost: 30 mana - Range: 800/850/900/950/1000 - **
Causes an apparition to appear at the target location and charge out in the target direction after a 0.3 second delay. This apparition deals a portion of the maximum health of each target hit plus a flat value as magic damage to all enemies in a line up to 600 units long.
- Health Damage: 4%, Flat Scaling +(30% AP)
- Health Damage: 5%, Flat Scaling +(40% AP)
- Health Damage: 6%, Flat Scaling +(50% AP)
- Health Damage: 7%, Flat Scaling +(60% AP)
- Health Damage: 8%, Flat Scaling +(70% AP)
Apparition creates a variant form of those from Vae’s passive. This ability allows Vae a more consistent source of damage while continuing his disruptive, back line play style. This is similar to Viktor's deathray.
R - Empathy - Cooldown: 160/140/120 - Cost: 100 mana -
Afflicts all enemy champions with ‘Aberrant Woes.’
A simple ultimate that cements Vae’s kit. Afflicting all enemies at once forces them to either back off or take serious risks in low mobility situations. An enemy is snared or otherwise impaired while afflicted it means serious danger for them. Additionally Vae can force an entire team off of an objective by using his ‘Restless Mind’ ability to increase the duration to 24 seconds.
