. Those damn shrooms and never knowing where he might be stealthed is seriously annoying. I thought it would be cool if he could jungle but, well, hes
, one hit from gromp and he is running for the hills. I wanted to have a ranged jungler who is sneaky and can do more than just fight, but set traps for enemies and pick them off. Thus mixing a champion of
and
as well as introducing some jungle mobility and monster specific abilities I was left with Marian. I named her that because the champion reminded me of Robin Hood but I didn't want a guy jungler so I named her after Maid Marian.
Lore - Marian has been hunting for her village ever since her husband was killed by
i when he tried to cross the desert to find better lands for their people. She took up her husband's job of hunting for her people and fell in love with it. One day when she returned she found that her entire village was dead. There was no evidence other than the tracks of some sort of monster. After that day Marian's attitude changed, she became bitter and angry, she no longer hunted for the fun of it, but instead to take the lives of all the beasts that could harm people. After years of hunting she found the den of the horrid creature. Unfortunately the monster was not home, but it's young were. Marian returned the pain the creature caused her and left. With her revenge complete she became emotionless and wandered the world hunting dangerous monsters that they might never harm another person. One day when she was hunting in the jungles she discovered the creature
and could not kill it because of how cute he was. Finally she had a friend, but this only made her more desperate to destroy the monster. Marian then had a brilliant idea, together with
she would join the league of legends. There
would be safe with her and if the monster ever wanted to fight her one on one she would be ready.
Basic Stats
- Health: 530 (+82 per level)
- Attack Damage: 50 (+3 per level)
- Attack Speed: 0.65 (+4% per level)
- Movement Speed: 350
- Health Regen: 10 (+0.5 per level)
- Armor: 28 (+3.5 per level)
- Magic Resist: 30 (+0 per level)
- Range: 600
Note: These stats are made this way to allow for more survivability in the jungle. The high base armor, health regen, and health should allow for this jungler to stay longer than if you tried to play a normal ADC in the jungle. She uses no mana and is entirely based on cooldowns.
ABILITIES
- Passive – Eagle Eye – Marian has a pet eagle that she can command to move using the normal ctrl-click method. This pet is invisible to enemies and cannot take damage. However, the eagle cannot attack and functions essentially as a moving ward. The eagle can be no further than 1000 units from Marian and has a movement speed equal to hers. The eagle ignores unit collisions and can move over walls.
Note: Because Marian is meant to be behind enemy lines she needs to have some way of staying safe, this bird allows her to remain unseen and at the same time keep an eye on the enemy. It also helps her check bushes for ambushes. I know
already has an eagle, but this could easily be changed to any other sort of bird or flying creature.
- Q – Monster's Weakness – Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6s Passive: Takes 10% reduced damage from non-epic monsters. Active: Fires three arrows out of her bow in a thin cone. These arrows stop after hitting the first target dealing physical damage. An enemy can be hit by more than one arrow and take full damage from each of them. Deals 50% bonus damage to minions and monsters. 1 - 20 (+120% AD) 2 - 40 (+120% AD) 3 - 60 (+120% AD) 4 - 80 (+120% AD) 5 - 100 (+120% AD)
Note: This ability would be the obvious start for anyone playing Marian. The damage reduction from monsters allows her to clear more camps without building tanky. The damage is relatively low so that people are less likely to play her as an adc, but she can still deal damage to monsters because of the 50% bonus.
- W – Hunter's Agility – Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10s
Passive: Enemies leave a trail behind them where ever they walk (think
Q but more subtle) that is only visible to Marian. The trail remains for five seconds and while walking on one of these trails Marian gains 10% bonus movement speed. The trail cannot be seen in a bush unless Marian is also in the same bush.
Active: Marian jumps up to 400 units (
range) in any direction (can go over walls). Can be cast twice within 3 seconds before going on cooldown. After each jump Marian's next basic attack deals bonus damage equal to her attack damage.
1 - 10% of total AD
2 - 15% of total AD
3 - 20% of total AD
4 - 25% of total AD
5 - 30% of total AD
Note: The active on this ability is based on
's head shot which deals 50% of her attack damage. This gives Marian an escape if she does get caught out, on the other hand it is also a great damaging ability. I decided to give this two casts because it can be used to jump in, deal some quick damage and jump back out. It also works as a powerful kiting tool. The passive half is meant so that she can run down an enemy that is low health or one that just stole her red buff. However, I added the part about not being able so see it in bushes because that allows enemies to exploit this in an ambush tactic.
- E – Snare – Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16s
Active: Places a snare on the ground that remains there for 5 minutes, or until activated. These are visible to enemies. A snare is activated when an enemy champion steps within 67.5 units of if (just like stepping on a
trap). The enemy champion is knocked airborne and held up for a few moments before being dropped back to the ground and then slowed by 10% for 2 seconds. An enemy that triggers a snare is revealed for 2.5 seconds.
1 - 1.6s airborne
2 - 1.7s airborne
3 - 1.8s airborne
4 - 1.9s airborne
5 - 2.0s airborne
Note: She is a hunter and a hunter should have traps. Using this along with her sneakiness Marian can slip behind enemy lines a place a bunch of snares that can really ruin an enemy retreat. This is one of the weakest abilities she has, I think it needs something else to make you want to scale it up.
- R – Pass without Trace – Cooldown: 80/65/50s
Passive: After not moving for 2/1.75/1.5 seconds Marian becomes stealthed. Taking any action or moving breaks this stealth (first part of
's passive).
Active: Reveals all enemy champions (unknown to them) and then becomes stealthed. This ability lasts up to 7 seconds or until Marian breaks the stealth by casting an ability or attacking. When the stealth is broken, the next basic attack has a 100% critical hit chance. After attacking Marian gains movement speed for 3 seconds.
1 - 20% bonus movement speed
2 - 40% bonus movement speed
3 - 60% bonus movement speed
Note: The idea here is for Marian to stealth during a fight drop a snare behind enemy lines, then immediately perform a jump from hunter's agility and pick off the enemy adc or mid lanner. The other main use of this ability is ganking. Here are some calculations I made for ONE VERY POWERFUL 18th level attack using this ability and a 301 ad stat: Total AD - 301 (101 base, 200 bonus)
+202, Hunter's Agility - +391. Total attack - 894,
- 250% damage, DAMAGE - 2235. I know that is a significant amount, but at this point in the game most assassins will be one shoting each other, plus this ability can be countered by anything from
's wind wall to a
.
_I hope you guys think this is a cool idea, I always wanted someone who would be in the jungle and just set up traps for enemies to walk back into, plus the idea of a ranged jungler is something I have been working on for a long time now. _
