There was no way to make his over-reliance on his W into a balanced kit. So they changed it entirely because a functional version of his kit already exists.
That's what happens when it's a completely unsalvageable kit.
When there is next to nothing healthy in a champion's kit, the kit needs to be scrapped and replaced with one that is healthy. It happens.
boards will tell you an unhealthy kit had to be replaced but go silent when you point out that new Aatrox has had far more impact on game health in not even a year than the old one had for his entire existence
Not being an asshole but the whole point of the rework was to get old Aatrox out of the game because they never liked him ever since release, why do you think they ignored him for as long as they did?

I agree that Aatrox was unhealthy and needed a full VGU, but this new champion Notaatrox persevered absolutely nothing from him!
