Wouldn't the buff to riven q not change anything?

she can auto cancel with her q...would that mean would have just made the E nerf meaningless?

The E is a vital part of a lot of her combos.

Having 4 seconds added on at all ranks is pretty impactful.

9.9 E - 10/9/8/7/6 seconds cooldown before CDR. With 45% cdr a maxed shield had 3.3 seconds cooldown in 9.9

9.10 E - 14/13/12/11/10 seconds cooldown before CDR. With 45% CDR a maxed shield has 5.5 seconds cooldown in 9.10

This nerf is pretty big in the sense that it hits her ability to shrug off bad trades with her shield and reduces the ability for her to keep herself healthy during all in's.

I'm no Riven player but I can definitely see it's going to sting, especially early game where she has limited access to CDR.

All of that'd have made sense if not for insane sustain riven gets from runes/hydra. The shrugging off "bad trade" via shield is just about 200hp or so. And that's few minins tops.

I'd have totally agreed with what Riven getting being a nerf if not for the Q buffs that show Riot is looking for a way to only act as if they want to balance her.

If she rushes hydra, you're gonna win lane against her easy. She's getting waveclear in exchange for CDR, lethality, tank stats, or mobility. She also can't get it at levels 1-7 so...
