Could someone please review this lore?

Hello, it has been quite sometime since I last made a champion concept and I was hoping I could get a little help with the lore I am currently writing for my newest creation: Keel, the Deep Stalker. Any opinions would be appreciated!

"Just as the light has its champions, so to does the dark. Unlike the light however, the dark is patient. It can wait centuries or more for the light’s luck to run out. It can wait for no hero of light to come and challenge it’s depths. The dark creeps in closer each time the light dims. One foot at a time. It’s record is almost at the city’s border when the light had been late with it’s champion. That was a wonderful for the dark. To be so close to touching it’s mortal coil. It was glorious.

Now, the light is dimming again. It’s hero already gone to retrieve the stone. The dark it has been patient. It has brought it’s own hero for this chance. A champion created from those that have fallen to the abyss. Given life by the dark. Given purpose by it’s soul. Given a name by the world above. To finally reach the light, the dark has created Keel, the Deep Stalker."
