Barbed Cloak of the Blood Magus

+120 Ability Power +400 Health -30% Total Ability Power

Unique PASSIVE - Blood Ward: Damage that exceeds 30% of your maximum health is dealt as a bleed effect dealing true damage every second over 5 seconds.

Cannot be owned if you have a Rabadon's Deathcap already.


The basic premise of this item is to give mages an option that halts the insta-gibbing of certain champions, the damage is still dealt but it is spread out over a 5 second period. This allows the mage or support, to have time to react to high damage rather than dying in less than 1 second. As a trade-off you lose a lot of AP and cannot counteract the effect with ![item 3089](https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/16.13.1/img/item/3089.png) because you cannot have both items bought at the same time.

Losing that match AP, AP champs aren't going to buy that. They would actually just be making themselves useless.

The passive isn't clear, is it like item 3812 ? Is it everyhit after you lose 30% of your hp? Is it just one hit? So it occurs when your HP goes from like 100% to 70%, but what about 50% to 20%?

The way it sounds is that one single ability thats deals more than 30%,will deal that 30%, then the rest of it is a bleed in true damage. You would take more damage this way. An item for surviability that is like this is item 3053 , but that saves you from damage and not being bursted, while this item saves you from getting bursted, but you will take more damage than normal.
