A Champion That The Community Creates VIA In-Game Events?

Awhile back the item 3158 's were created in honor of Ionia's victory or Noxus. That was super cool that the community (let it be, a small part, but the community none the less) had a direct result in how the game changed. I am not sure how many people have played/heard of Splatoon (made by Nintendo), but every once in awhile they have events such as Dogs or Cats. You play as which ever you prefer and your points add into a large community pile and after awhile they announce who won. What if we had a large amount of events one after another shaping how a new champion was made. I really think this would be extremely cool and the entire community can be a part of it instead of just two pro-teams.

That is my opinion, what's yours. I love reading other people's ideas. As always thanks again to Riot for creating this amazing game!

Not sure how something like this could/would work. In my mind I picture a series of events, similar to Burning Tides, where players earn Summoner icons, through completing challenges which represents some aspect of a champion. The event could last a month or so with each stage being a week. Granting Summoner Icons for challenges also incentivises more players to participate.

So for example, the first event could be choosing a faction/location, and players could earn an icon by playing a champion from a faction/location, they liked adding points to the pool for their favorite point of origin. Next could be a role, where players complete yet another challenge to choose a primary and secondary role for the champion, thus allowing players to win two icons at this stage.

I think that would be fun.
