[Champion Concept] Mimyx, the Glass Automaton
I've come up with an interesting idea for a new mid lane mage/tank. I'm calling her Mimyx and she's meant to be similar to Orianna, but at the same time different. For one thing she doesn't have a ball like Ori does and second all her abilities are different as well. What I mean by similar is that she's a automaton like Blitz and Ori, though this one is fitted with a mirror-like outer shell. Her abilities reflect(no pun intended) this. I wish I could draw, but I can't so I'm left to show an image that is near to what I have in mind. http://www.killershrike.com/Fate/Fae/Pathfinder/Content/Characters/Constructs/GlassGolem/GlassGolem.jpg It's not exactly like I envision her, but it's a starting point. Her abilities:
Passive - Reflection Reflection does not become active until level 6 and a point is put into the ultimate. Once active every enemy champion basic attack and ability that deals damage to Mimyx, a percentage of that damage(12%/18.5%/25%) is returned to the enemy champion as true damage.
This passive acts like Thornmail in a way, if an attack does 1000 damage, Reflection deals 120/185/250 true damage back to the enemy champion depending on the rank of her ultimate. I also made it to where it's not readily available at the start of the game, it would be too powerful to have at the very early stages of the game, I mean who would want to trade against a champion that will not only deal damage from their attacks, but also deal damage from your own?
Q - Mirror Shot Cost - 40/50/60/70/80 Mana Cooldown - 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 Seconds Range - 650 Explosion Radius - 250 A ball of energy is sent out in a straight line, dealing magic damage to the first target hit and each subsequent target until it reaches it's full extent, or the ability is activated again, which will then explode and cause damage to enemy units in an area around it. First target is dealt 30/40/50/60/70(+45% ability power) damage, subsequent targets are dealt 50% the amount. When Mirror Shot is activated again or reaches it's full extension it explodes dealing 20/30/40/50/60(+30% ability power) to all enemy units caught inside the explosion.
Her Q is her main damage dealing ability and is great for farming minions. Let it reach the back line and explode it to take out the caster minions. You can also catch unsuspecting enemy champions that are hiding behind the caster minions as they farm.
W - Blinding Light Cost - 50/55/60/65/70 Mana Cooldown - 15/14.5/14/13.5/13 Seconds Range - 300 units around Mimyx A radius of blinding light encircles Mimyx, dealing magic damage and temporarily blinds any enemy caught inside. Deals 20/25/30/35/40(+10% Ability Power) to all those caught within the radius around Mimyx and blinds them for 1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5 seconds.
This ability is meant as a defense against melee champions coming in for ganks or for anyone that tries to get in close, but it only works if they're already in close proximity to Mimyx. This is her only means of escape and has a long cooldown so not to be abused.
E - Glassmail Cost - 75 Mana Cooldown - 14/13/12/11/10 seconds Range - Self-cast Mimyx enhances the armor on her body to withstand more attacks. Passive - Grants bonus Armor and Magic Resistance equal to 5/10/15/20/25% of total Armor and Magic Resistance. Active - When activated the Armor and Magic Resist bonus is doubled for 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds. While this skill is on cooldown the bonus Armor and Magic Resistance from the passive is lost until the ability becomes available for activation.
I put this in here to give her some sustainability and not be a complete squishy. The activation is meant when she wants to do some hard trading with an opponent. However once the cooldown starts, Mimyx is just like glass: completely vulnerable.
R - Shatterstorm Cost - 100 Mana Cooldown - 120/100/80 Seconds Range - 1000 Radius - 750 Mimyx channels and shatters all the glass on her body and magically throws it at a target area, dealing magic damage to all enemy units within the area. Passive - For every rank increases the amount of True Damage Reflection does. Active - After channeling for 1.5 seconds Mimyx removes all her Armor and Magic Resistance(including the passive bonus of her E) and deals magic damage to a large area, including a percentage of lost Armor and Magic Resistance. Armor and Magic Resistance returns at the end of the cast. Deals 100/150/200(+50% Ability Power)(+50% Armor)(+50% Magic Resist) each second to any enemy champion at target location(minions are dealt 50% of the amount) for 3/4/5 seconds. 2/2.5/3 seconds after the cast is finished all the lost Armor and Magic Resist returns, minus the bonus from her E which goes on cooldown.
Mimyx's ultimate is meant to be an all-in ability. Since it is a channeling ability she'll need separation to be able to set it up before unleashing a rain of glass shards onto her enemies. While her ultimate is active she can be jumped on, and like a very squishy target can be brought down almost immediately as she'll have no armor or magic resist to help her defend until her ultimate's duration is over.
Meant to be a mid lane mage, Mimyx can also be played as a tanky support. The passive on her E allows her to absorb extra enemy damage depending on her build and her W can blind enemies if she gets in close to them.
Lore Vanity has it's upsides and it's downsides and it was because of both that Mimyx came into existence. There was once a young and handsome inventor by the name of Lance Durman and he was an expert in the field of Techmaturgy. His brilliant mind had only one competition: his dashing good looks. Wherever he went he made sure to bring a mirror with him so he can always see himself. After being able to look upon the Great Steam Golem Blitzcrank, Lance came up with an idea: he would create his own automaton, one ideally for a "unique" purpose. He toiled away for weeks on end and when he was done, Mimyx was born. She was a marvel of modern technology and in Lance's mind, the best part about her was instead of a metal shell he fitted her entire outer body with reflective panels, so whenever she moved he could always see himself in her. Every thing seemed to be going his way, until a fateful experiment gone wrong. Working with some volatile chemicals, Lance made a rare error and the results of such an error caused an explosion and a devastating fire. While recovering in the hospital, Lance had his servant Mimyx tend to him and though he could not see his face in her reflections because of the bandages wrapped around his head, he believed all would be fine. But that's not how it would be. After months of recovery the doctors removed the bandages. The first thing Lance did was call Mimyx to his side. When she did as she was told and the inventor could see himself again, he let out a fearful scream. The accident had left his once handsome face scarred and disfigured. Enraged by his plight, Lance sought out isolation and moved his works to a secluded place deep in the forest where no one could see him for the abomination he saw in himself. Slowly, the inventor began to go insane. He smashed all his beloved mirrors, his face too hideous for him to look at. All that remained was Mimyx, his pride and joy. It pained him to do it, but he shut her down and smashed all her reflective panels and even though he knew she had no real emotions, he could swear he saw a flicker of sorrow on her still face. Years later a wandering band of mages found an abandoned cottage and when they took a gander inside they saw the skeleton of a man hanging from the rafters. Upon further inspection of the home they found many broken mirrors among what looked like half-hearted experiments. It wasn't long before they found a in-operational female-like robot among the items strewn around the home and the mages were astonished to find it among a large pile of shattered glass. Using a little of their magic, they restored the robot to her former glory. However, they could not make her operational. In order to do so, the mages had to use a more complex spell that infused Mimyx's body with a core of concentrated magic. When the spell was complete, Mimyx immediately came to life. She had been made a sentient being. When she asked about her master the mages could only tell her what they had found. For the first time Mimyx felt emotions as she began to cry. Her master was her only reason for existence and now that he was gone she had nowhere to go. It was at this time the mages offered her a deal: they knew of a place she could go and she could follow them there or have her magical core removed and she could die in peace. She choose to go with them. Weeks later Mimyx found herself at the Institute of War. There she was offered a place among the League's champions and a chance to serve a new master every time she was summoned to the battlefield. In her robotic heart, Mimyx knew this was the place for her.
Well, that's my idea. I'd like to hear what any of you have to say about her. I really do hope there is a chance she'll be made into a champion for the game. Her name can also be changed if need be.
