What Constitutes as a Pentakill?

I have a question that pertains to Pentakills. In two recent games I felt I was denied the accomplishment of having a Pentakill announced. The first game http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1900396630/44920842 it happened at 28:46. I was playing Jinx and I managed to kill the 5 players on Red Team in 22 seconds, but the game did not recognize it as a Pentakill. The second game http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1903955324/44920842 it happened again, this time it was at the 42:57 mark right before the end of the game. It took 30 seconds and again the game did not recognize the Pentakill.

My question is this: is there a time limit to getting a Pentakill? You would think as long as no one on the other team had respawned by the time a player took out the entire opposing team it would count. So.... what gives?

Edit: even if they are "unofficial" Pentakills, to me they still count.

It is within 10 seconds of each other. So if you blew up 4 people and then got a kill 11 seconds later, it doesn't count. The one exception here is when no enemies are alive after a Quadra. The timer between kills is then 30 seconds.

You have I believe 10 seconds between each kill so if you killed entire team besides that last person in 4 seconds and than took 11 seconds to kill the last guy you wont get it.

I think Pluribus explained it well. It isn't the time from kill one to kill five. It is the time between one and two, two and three, and so on. With this in mind, you need high DPS to get pentakills. AOE could help, but it's also good to be able to keep the opponents from fleeing, go it also helps to have heavy CC or chasing ability. If you really want a Pentagon, pick good champions for it. Yi, Katerina, and karthus are decent in my opinion (it's a bronze 4 opinion. Flip a coin to see if it has value).

I believe if you are considered out of combat between any of the kills, no penta for you.
