So after a while of waiting, It's time to start this again, now since this is a part 2 I guess i'll restate the rules I follow 1: I'll accept any form of criticism or critique's to improve the champion concept, I wanna make it the best I can. 2: I'm using the old lore, which means the summoners and institute of war are in effect. 3: Expect for the update schedule on this to be a little sketchy, I have a life and high school to do. 4: Understand that I'm doing this just to share a creative concept with the members of this community, so I don't really care about views or if a riot employee see's this, as long as you guys enjoy it and be honest with your opinion, i'll be happy. Well that sums it up for the rules, here we go.

Did you know?: Suzami takes 1 less damage from wolves Suzami regains 10 health every time he kills Asama, Shen, Zed, Akali, or Kennen

Backstory: Come, let me tell you a story of the 3 siblings, a story of growing bitterness, betrayal, and kinship. Years ago 3 children were born, at first they looked like they were normal children but when the youngest turned 3, strange things happened to them. No one knew how or why this had happened, it was a completely unexplained event, the children began to grow animal features. The oldest began to grow panther ears and eyes, the 2nd oldest had wolf claws and legs, and the youngest grew fox ears and legs. Despite this they were still accepted among Ionia and soon they became animal spirits and defenders of Ionia. The fox was an excellent bowsman, the wolf held a scythe in his hand and appeared to have some kind of connection to the moon as wolves usually do, and the panther wielded a katana and had some kind of magic that was waiting to get out. However despite this there was unrest among them, the fox and the wolf were always butting heads with each other and getting into many fights because of how they act. The fox was headstrong and very cocky, often getting into fights over the smallest things. The wolf was a prankster and would often get his little brother into trouble, he was also very childish despite his age. The panther was usually there too calm them down and stop the arguments, until one day.

The panther was bore from a very powerful Ionian sorceress, but it appeared her animal spirit and the magic did not mix, so it became corrupted and it would threaten to kill many if it wasn't controlled. So the panther was forced to leave and let the wolf and the fox to themselves. The wolf out of immaturity because of how the fox was acting, decided to play a prank, that almost costed the fox it's life, the fox was told that there was a shooting tournament going on, and that they wanted him to be their, he gave him instructions an how to go there. What was really there was a pack of mercenaries that the wolf hired, they were their to beat the fox until it died, however before the deed was nearly done the fox's secret power came out, it disappeared into thin air. The wolf was told that the deed was done and simply smiled, now all the fame and glory could be his. Yet the fox was plotting and soon the fox struck back, and it was much worse than the wolf's plot. Soon the fox and others who didn't like the wolf surprised him and tried to beet him until all he was, was a bloody mess without any human parts on him, yet after they took his eye he unleashed all his rage and transformed, into a werewolf. Soon he murdered every last person their except for the fox. the fox, badly injured and without his bloodlust satisfied, ran off, and the werewolf, when he heard soldiers coming, also ran off.

How do I know all of this, well it's because I am one of them, I'm Suzama the Wolf, and there is more to the story that people do not know. When i got into the forest and had gone a long way, I woke up and saw what I had become, all alone, without any wealth or any person with me, I could reminisce about my actions and what they had caused. I cried out in complete misery and anger for in my head, I deserved this all along because I realized that this whole time I was a monster, trying to bring my siblings down. Without anywhere else to go I walked further away from my home town, I knew that I had to teach myself to change, if I didn't want to be a monster I would have to learn how to not be a monster.

After how many days of wandering I found a group called the Suzaku, a group of ninjas that offered me home and shelter, I told them what I wanted, a teacher who could show me how to use my magic and how to be more disciplined, they showed me to their leader, and after he saw my wolf parts, he took me in and more than happily began to train me, after about 4 years of training I decided to leave, yet my master told me that if I wanted to prove that I could live out there, I had to prove it by beating him in a duel. The fight was hard and took very long, yet eventually I won, and was allowed to leave, then I had my chance to show how much I matured, I helped him up after I won, I bowed to him and thanked him when I left, and promised to continue training no matter what.

At this point the story of The Wolf and The Fox was surprisingly popular and told too many children, this caught the ear of a weird creature, I encountered it about halfway through my travels too see where my siblings where. When I first met it I mistook it for some kind of weird, tree, monkey, bull, however it introduced itself as Ivern, The Father of the Forest, and soon explained that it heard of the story and wanted to meet the fox and the wolf so that it could solve whatever they were argueing about, he immediately recognized me as the wolf and asked me where the fox was. I told him all the story you had just heard and he simply nodded in understanding and told me what a great story it was. Then I asked him a favor, could he help me out with the werewolf problem? He accepted immediately and began soon after, after another 3 years of becoming one with nature and quelling the anger in me, he said I was all done with the practicing, and wished me a merry life and said if I ever met the fox again, howl to him so that he can help.

When I had turned 22 (1 year after I was done practicing) I found a small encampment with ninjas who appeared to be cloaked in a type of garb that I couldn't recognize, I decided to see if anyone had seen my siblings yet as soon as I got their they immediately surrounded me and told me that I was not welcome and that I would be taken to their master. I met up with an imposing man who had 2 arm blades and wore a very scary mask. He introduced himself as Zed, their was a woman next too him wearing a similar build but she had long white hair, a bit more armor, and she had a katana instead of arm blades. She introduced herself as Shana, she appeared to be, interested in me, as in she was staring at me the whole time and never moved her eyes once. Before Zed could decide what to do to me Shana simply leaned over and whispered something in Zed's ear, and before I could figure out what was going on, Shana, still staring at me, had me carried off with her, soon we were on a balcony, overlooking the outside world and she asked me to remove my mask, knowing that I was in a captive situation and that I might die if I do not do what i'm told I decided to agree. Almost immediately after I removed my mask she stepped back in shock and then rammed into me and hugged me really tightly with tears in her eyes crying out "BROTHER, I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!!" and soon I remembered, my sister's name was Shana, and I was right here with her, eventually I was asked about my eye, I explained the whole story, and apologized for what had happened, she immediately accepted my apology and said that she was so happy to see me again.

After a year the clan had accepted me and Zed appeared to have accepted me as his apprentice. Soon however, during a night where I was simply watching the night sky, a figure snuck up behind me and attacked me, the figure had a bow and appeared to be mostly robotic. They charged me and soon we got into a fight, yet soon when the figures face hit the moonlight I saw who it was, my brother Asama had found me, and he still wanted my head. However despite this he still couldn't beat me, and I tried to show him the error of this path yet he refused to listen, saying "You're a fool to believe you can redeem yourself in my eyes." perhaps I am a fool to have all this hope in him, but I still do, because I love my brother so much. * Promotional Video: You see it from his point of view as he is seen running through the woods, you see the wolf hands, he then runs out to the moonlight and looks up to the moon as the camera will zoom back and you see the marking on his hair.

Skin at Release Date: Shockblade Suzama: similar to Zed's Shockblade skin, yeah it's unoriginal but hey most release date skins aren't the best.

Now one thing before I go, before you say "Hey you're taking what made Diana Unique." tell me, did Sion take what was unique to Urgot? , did Akali take what was unique about Shen?, did Yasuo take what was unique about Janna?, it's not the concept that makes the champion fully unique, it's the gameplay and personality, so yeah now you shouldn't need to complain. Hope you enjoyed the concept and i'll see you all later, ta-ta. Also, his kit just seems a bit all over the place. His passive made me think he was going to be an assassin with stances like Udyr, but then suddenly I see his E works like the Conjurer from DOTA where he basically gets way more powers than normal thanks to a combo system, and then for his ult he turns into a werewolf to... automatically Thresh Chain everyone in a radius?

I came away from reading this thinking more thought was put into how cool this champ would be than how much sense it would make from either a gameplay or lore standpoint.

My complaint I have about the lore is not quite about the whole "Diana" thing, but rather that depending on the timeframe I'm not sure Zed has been apart from his clan long enough to have established acolytes like this. Also I don't think there even are "servants of the moon" other than Diana at the moment, and the other implied interactions he has with other champs just sounds a bit arbitrary and not particularly compelling, IMO.

Also, how the heck do you pronounce that name, and is there a reason it also sounds similar to Master Yi?

CobaltTheMadMage11/5/2016, 5:02:58 AM1 votes

Ok... right now my current opinion is that this has taken two steps forward, one step back, a couple hobbled steps off to the left, then fell on its rear.

Lore is still a bit mediocre; -apprenticeship with Zed feels arbitrary and has little meaningful impact on the concept except to tack it to a "cool and edgy" canon champ in hopes of riding on their coattails even though as it stands anyone could be their master and it would change nothing. -orphan kids inexplicably have animal powers and this is neither explained nor explored as part of their lore -rivalries leading to fatal blows with no detail or explanation given; I realize brother-against-brother is a common trope in anime and the like, but there usually has to be a good reason for it otherwise it just feels cliche'. -Suddenly, Ivern. Why exactly did it have to be Ivern to help him when he had like three other masters beforehand?

Frankly, I think you could build a better lore if you had started with the fact that their animal forms are innate with no explanation and made them some sort of resident Ionian animal spirits and built up the story of their fights to be more like some sort of local Ionian fable about the Fox and the Wolf, and then Ivern's eventual involvement would make more sense.

Now on to abilities:

Passive: Ooh, this looks like this is gonna be a dual-kit champ that rewards strategically switching kits and synergizing their different abilities to maximize damage. Let's see what else they do...

Q: I... ok I'm completely lost. Is the idea that you physically draw a trail for your attack to follow or something? Viktor's W already works a bit like this except you can only draw a nice and practical line with it. Why does it need 3 seconds? Most stuns don't even take that long. Honestly I don't think this would work very well in the heat of combat unless maybe you just specified a limited number of points it had to travel through before ending and then it would automatically draw a continuous curving line between those points to deal damage. Understood that it applies a stack like the Scythe basic, but not the 300 radius thing after.

W: Ok this makes a bit more sense. First hit is a skillshot that marks a target, recasting with a marked target teleports you to their location and strikes them three times, dealing... a ton of damage, actually; in total a minimum of 220 at level 1 to 600 at level 18, plus on-hit effects. Might want to re-think those numbers a bit. Also switches into claw form to help stick to their target and shred whatever health remains, but now that we see casting these abilities is required to switch weapon forms the passive just seems underwhelming and encourages really only one good combo.

E: Damage, stun, and reposition. Were it not for Talon's rework I would suggest letting it also vault terrain and then halve the cooldown for vaulting a victim, but that's Talon's thing now so this just seems a bit bland. For what it's worth though it at least has a clear and beneficial purpose- catching a fleeing opponent and positioning you in their way of escape, so with that in mind it's not too bad.

R: Took me a while to figure out this ult did different things based on which stance you were using. So scythe mode gets an additional hit per AA with its own base values, while claw mode gets an MS boost and can recast to close gaps and regain health. Does casting the ult only benefit one stance for the duration of the effect, or does the ult boost carry over to whichever stance you switch into? Because if the former scythe mode seems like it kinda got ripped off.

I feel like this champ is still focused too much on trying to be cool rather than trying to fill a sensible gameplay niche. Really as it stands it seems like there's only really one good combo on this one and not much reason to go any other way. The fact that you have to blow a power on switching stances doesn't help much, either.
