A Rift In Icathia(Short Story Concept for my champions)

This is just to kind of introduce my characters a bit, not going to involve existing champions in this one. Concepts taking part in this story are: Quest, Icathia's Blade Phylix, The Hexmage Xul'Ka, The Island Shaper Tay'Eth, Heart of the Void Omri, The Wonderful

Basically this is lore as to how they got more active in the League Universe, and the base lore for Tay'Eth. I'll probably add more to their individual lore some time in the future. But Idk.

>A Rift In Icathia.

>Minor tremors began to erupt across Runeterra, time to time the air would vibrate briefly... A warning was spreading throughout the land. This continued for 2 days, attracting people from all around who gathered closer to the origin... Icathia. Once people arrived many of them turned back, too afraid to continue onward towards the barren land. Among those who stayed to study the events were Quest-a time old warrior of Icathia-, Phylix-a powerful shuriman mage who augmented his magic in Zaun-, and Xul'Ka-a legendary island shaper who brought peace among his people-. Quest felt a disturbing presence in the land, and he know it was prone to attacks from the Void, if anything similar were to happen he vowed to stop it before it would break free toward the other lands. Xul'Ka a herald of his tribes, came on his own terms, in order to maintain the safety of his lands, the tremors had wrought terror on his island's inhabitants throwing them in a panic. Phylix, came not out of preventive measures against incoming threats, but rather out of intrigue. He desired rare materials to study and help him augment his magic even further. Each of these 3 had their own reasons and stayed to themselves, often encountering each other but turning away and minding their business. Quest made few attempts at conversation, Phylix brushed him off as uninteresting and Xul'Ka found him unwelcome and was slightly hostile against him.

>Hours later the air began to grow thicker, all 3 of them looked at each other to validate the sudden change. They put their hands up and felt the atmosphere around them, it was heavy and the weight increased every second. Soon after a strong vacuum pulled the air up towards a center point in the sky. The clouds grew black and the area darkened around them. Suddenly a flash of light erupted from above, and a screech filled the air. Otherworldly tendrils fell from the heavens, piercing the ground around them. A small orb descended from the clouds and stopped mid-way down. The orb began drawing in the energy around it. Quest, Phylix, and Xul'Ka all knew that something bad was happening; each one of their one accord started rushing towards the orb. Quest and Xul'Ka wanted to destroy it whilst Phylix decided he would enjoy studying it in his labs. Before they could get close more tendrils began falling and rifts began to open up around them, pouring out voidlings and other dark creatures. The tendrils began to encircle them, but Xul'Ka used his land-shaping powers to break pathways through them. Voidlings were being dispatched by Quest, swiftly moving through the dark force's ranks with ease. Other dark creatures began to assault them with deadly artillery, but Phylix conjured powerful mirrors to deflects their attacks, and blasted them with shards of magic glass. Quest, Phylix, and Xul'Ka looked at each other briefly; they had become a team if only temporarily, and had to put trust in each other to get through this and stop the event from finishing its course. They ran up the tendrils making their path with Xul'Ka's powers, defending with Phylix and killing all surrounding enemies with Quest. As they approached the dark orb, almost near enough to grasp it, all the giant tendrils around them began to fall to the ground... The orb had finished absorbing the energy it needed. The tendril they stood upon crashed down into the ground, but didn't collapse completely, leaving them on a plateau above the ground. After the clashing of tendrils had ceased the air grew still, silent, eerie. Quest, Phylix, and Xul'Ka looked at each other ready for something to transpire, for a giant being to emerge from the sky or the orb to blow up the land... but nothing.

>The orb fell to the ground, landing a small distance in front of them, it seemed as though everything had ceased. Suddenly they heard a voice in their heads:

>???: ...Quest... ???: ...Phy...lix... ???: ...Xul...ka...

>Their heads pounded in agony with every word, feeling like they were about to explode from immense pressure.

>???: ...Tay'Eth... Tay'Eth: ...I... I am Tay'Eth... I am the Void... I am the essence... I am the heart.

>The orb ascended and began to glow, shortly after it burst with purple light and dark mist. A shaded being appeared before them, large and menacing. It looked down toward them and spoke:

>Tay'Eth: Mortals? ...You are mortals. You tried to stop me. Tay'Eth: Your attempt has been acknowledged... Your existence no longer shall. The Void consumes all, and soon... you too shall become a part of the nothingness.

>Dark energy escaped the evil being, it lunged forward toward them. Phylix halted it in its wake, using all his power he conjured a spell onto the platform that forced the creature to the ground. Channeling it with his last bits of strength. The creature still slowly approached them, unrelenting. Xul'Ka slammed the ground with his might and caused pillars to erupt from beneath the creature piercing it through. The creature shrugged this off, as the body was comprised of dark energy it held no physical damage. Quest ran up to strike the orb with his blade; the dark creature looked at the orb inside it and then Quest's blade and sent out a deafening shriek pushing everything away.

>Tay'Eth: You resist... Why must you delay the inevitable?

>The creature stood tall, Phylix being weak from trying to restrain him couldn't hold his channel any longer. It looked down on them again, this time as though they were recognized threats, it let out a tormented growl.

>Tay'Eth: Embrace the Void!

>The creature pulled energy from in front of itself and then released a large dark wave toward the them.

>A blinding light... the energy had vanished. Quest, Phylix, and Xul'Ka looked up and saw another being standing in front of them facing the dark entity.

>???: Well... that was quite some showmanship! I am very impressed. But why are you attacking these 3... umm... beings? Tay'Eth: Another interruption? This is getting quite tiresome. ???: Oho! It speaks, I didn't see that one coming. Are you guys hearing this? I certainly hope I'm not going crazy over here. Tay'Eth: I am the Void reincarnate. I cannot be stopped until my course has ran. All of Runeterra will embrace me. Omri: I am Omri, and I see the nice work you've done to the place... but hmm... no. No it just won't do. I can feel the evil from inside your core. Omri: You seek ruin, for this entire land, and that certainly won't do.

>Omri looked back at the 3 people standing behind him.

>Omri: Come now comrades, we have a fight to win.

>Both otherworldly entities began to battle. Dark energies collided with strange magic. The beings seemed to be on par with each other, trading back and forth with magic blows. Omri turned and quickly cast a spell on Phylix, Quest, and Xul'Ka, which made them fight... it seemed to control their very movements. The dark being started to grow even larger, feasting on all the magic around him, and began to manifest its true form. The orb ascended into the air and the dark energy swirled around it. Soon the energy started to form an immense cyclone. Corruption from the void began to spread out from the evil being. Omri issued Quest and Xul'Ka towards the center of the platform, and Phylix was issued to shield them from the dark matter encircling them. Omri caused a magical geyser to erupt from beneath Xul'Ka, who was carrying Quest. And they flew into the sky towards the center of the dark entity. Once Xul'Ka stopped gaining altitude he threw Quest toward the blackened orb. Quest held his sword out straight, ready to pierce and shatter the sphere. Suddenly the energy was reabsorbed and the creature fled, preserving its life, having been defeated for now. Omri ran over and caught the two falling from the sky, placing them down on the ground.

>Omri: Well, good job lads. We defeated that demon. Though he managed to slip away... We will be ready if he resurfaces.

>He patted them on the back.

>Phylix: But... what are you? You are certainly no ordinary man. Omri: I am... hmm... wonderful, simply wonderful. Don't you think? Phylix: That's one way to word it I suppose... Quest: Whatever you are you saved us, and that is certain. We owe you a debt. Xul'Ka: Shlargh! Omri: Oh, I have only delayed the battle, you aren't saved yet... Xul'Ka: Bhoshkal Staaa Lom! Omri: Guys, I'm going to be honest here, I have absolutely no idea what this thing is trying to tell me.

>Omri pointing his hand toward Xul'Ka and released a faint magic spell.

>Omri: Okay, you can repeat that last thing. Xul'Ka: Tribe-member through battle. You are ally, and Xul'Ka fights for you. Quest: I do see us crossing paths again in the near future, and I will gladly lend me sword. Phylix: But... What ARE you? Omri: Ah, yes, don't fret. We will certainly meet again. And I am... wonderful! I already told you!

>Omri faded into a spirit looking being and left. The 3 champions looked around at the platform they stood on, looked toward the ground deep below them, looked at each other, and then looked toward Xul'Ka.

>Xul'Ka: Okay, fine, Xul'Ka will do the digging down.

>They made it to the bottom and parted ways as comrades in battle. Xul'Ka returned to his islands to spread the word of safety to his people. Quest wandered off, in search of the dark orb. Phylix returned to Zaun, bringing what he could harvest from the Void corpses... ready for his next experiment.

Interesting...speaking of collabs, before anything, I had an idea for a Demacian Battle-Dancer. Like the ones in Fire Emblem, who aren't really there to fight, but benefit their allies through a rejuvenating, "magic but not magic" dance.

I was wondering if I could ask for her to have been given her idea to do as such on the battlefield by Atlas, as he's currently about the only person other than Lux who would be keen on noticing these sort of hidden magical feats...and Lux is in exile. Of course, that would mean that if she ended up tied into any other stories you wanted to tell involving Atlas, you would have full creative authority. Just a thought.

As far as your actual story goes, that's pretty wicked. I may do one for my own soon, but right now I don't really have enough to tie together. I'm about a dozen behind you this month. xD
