So Riot's releasing new lores & facts of certain factions, great, cool, w/e.
How bout we get some lores & facts of why Godzilla-sized champions like Aurelion Sol & new Galio gets shrunk to the size of the guinea pig in Summoner's Rift?

Do you seriously think the game represents the lore? Well, sure, then let's make Galio as big as Summoners Rift itself. Let Aurelion Sol just be the sky over it, sure. You see how that won't work?
Then they really need to stop creating "giant" champions. At least some lores & facts needed for Summoner's Rift itself for its cause of shrinking champions.
The champions don't really fight in Summoners Rift. It's not part of the lore, so it isn't bound to the same rules.

Well, League isn't the only game that does this kind of thing, many games too either ignore the aspects of height entirely (Dota2? Yeah it's the same over there. Some heroes are 10s or even hundreds of times larger than another and that's still not stopping them from all having roughly the same game model sizes), some attempt to put in some emphasis on lore-correct sizes but not really accurate (see most strategy games, including but not limited to Starcraft), some others use it creatively for other reasons such as balancing (say in TF2, Heavy as a frontline tank has the largest height for the purpose of soaking, Sniper is the second tallest character in the roaster solely for balancing reasons).
So no, it depends, I wouldn't worry too much about correct sizes here in the context of League though.
