Maokai mini rework
Q - Arcane Smash
- if used on a sapling within the small area of Arcane Smash where the knockback and shockwave effects overlap, the sapling detonates so as to increase the range and damage of the Arcane Smash shockwave by 50% (sorry if that's confusing, but you just smash sapling for bigger and stronger shockwave). W - Twisted Advance:
- root duration changed from 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds to 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/1.6 seconds.
- range decreased from 525 to 500.
- now casts as a "skillshot" rather than a targeted ability, with an area of effect and cast animation time similar to Karthus Q.
- if used while Vengeful Maelstrom is active, area of effect is increased by 50%.
- if used on top of an inactive sapling, the sapling is consumed and 40% of Twisted Advance's cooldown (after CDR) is refunded. E - Sapling Toss:
- mana cost reduced from 60/70/80/90/100 to 50/55/60/65/70.
- sapling detonation damage reduced from 80/120/160/200/240 (+60% AP) to 80/100/120/140/160 (+40% AP).
- cooldown reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds at all ranks.
- now stores up to 3 saplings, which can be used in rapid succession.
NOTE: these changes are a mesh of ideas meant to make Maokai's kit more interesting and drive the player to make choices, which is more fun. the focus is on mechanical changes, although there are some examples of statistical power being traded off as compensation for mechanical buffs. nonetheless, anything thought to be too strong (or weak) would be tweaked via playtesting and should not be seen as reason for bashing the listed ideas. thanks!
