Champion Concept: Vance, the Puppeteer

Wow, it's been a while since I posed one of these...anyway, this is a champion I whipped up preeeety quickly, so defiantly a rough draft.

Passive: Soul Leeching. Whenever the Puppet hits an enemy champion with an auto attacks, it steals a flat amount of mana (based on level) from the target. This mana is stored in the Puppet, and is given to Vance whenever he recalls it. This ability will make more sense when you read W, which is how Vance conjures his puppet, but it grants him some nice mana sustain (the W is expensive mana-wise), so he can continue to poke frequently.

Q: Shadow Mine. Passive: The Puppet gains increased Attack Speed when inside the range of a Shadow Mine. Active: Vance consumes a charge (gains 1 charge every few seconds) to place down a shadow mine nearby. enemy units inside of the shadow mine range are revealed and tethered to it and receive damage every 0.5sec. If tethered for long enough, enemy units are snared. Shadow mines last _ seconds or until killed (a few hit points, only takes damage from AAs, like a ward). A nice zoning tool and provides some safety from jungles.

W: The Puppet. Toggle: Vance channels his soul into a Puppet. This Puppet can be moved about with Ctrl+Rclick. The Puppet has a melee AA that deals damage based on Vance's AP, and has AS equal to Vance's AS. The Puppet fully applies on-hit effects. This ability costs mana every second. The Puppet is Vance's Bread and Butter. Use it to harass in lane, even regaining some of the mana. The Puppet is where a lot of Vance's Damage comes from, especially since it fully applies item 3115.

E: Envelope. The Puppet envelopes a nearby enemy champion (W is toggled off, the enemy champion has to be near Vance), causing them to lose all vision and glide slowly toward Vance (like an Ahri charm). This ability deals no damage, and the Puppet can't attack during it, but it still provides solid CC, and can keep enemies inside of Q tether range for more CC. Since the puppet cannot be killed, its not a matter of if you cast this, but when you cast this, in a team fight. Useful for locking down targets trying to escape or jump on you, allowing nearby allies to lay the smacketh down.

R: Soul's Embrace. Passive: this ability can only be cast while W is toggled on. Active: Vance recalls his Puppet instantly, but continues channeling for a few seconds. Upon completing the channel, Vance unleashes a massive energy blast, damaging all enemies struck (think Lux

Some notes: I see Vance as a mid laner. Ranged auto attacks (for Vance, the Puppet is melee). AP scalings, obviously,

I hope you like Vance, please feel free to place constructing criticism in the comment section below. I apologize for the lack of art-work, I'm a horrible artist.

Edit: the ability I'm least in love with is the Q. While I wanted Vance to do things besides his Puppet, I may change this ability in the future.

I've been playing around with a puppeteer concept of my own and yours is great. The biggest problem i can see is being to use the puppet to dive and kill your enemy without any consequence. Vance could be a difficult jg but very effective given his ability to basically kidnap other champions. I might post the puppeteer idea I have so you could see it. Here's some recommended items based on Vance's kit : item 3153 item 3124 item 3115 item 3091 item 3135 item 3022 I play very aggressive hybrids if you couldn't tell
