Concept: How to make a Tank/Assassin

It's the one combination that seems truly impossible for League to create. An Assassin Tank. But I think I just cracked the code.

Assassins don't necessarily have to do damage quickly. What they have to do is assure the kill.

So here's what I'm thinking. An ultimate that does a severe damage over time effect, or worse yet, gradually reduces your maximum health as you waste away (no hope of healing it). If not stopped in time, it will undoubtably kill the target, with the counterplay being to kill the tank/assassin guy before his curse finishes you off.

Obviously, there remains quite a few problems with the idea (most notably, what if he just casts it and runs in the opposite direction?), but I feel like it's a good basis for a design to jump off of.

There are more qualities to make someone an assassin than just being able to secure a kill. Most divers are able to secure kills as well, but they still are not assassins since they go into a fight and stay in it instead of immediately escaping after getting the kill.

What makes an assassin an assassin is the ability to kill a key target in the middle of the team (good gap closers), then get out of it (good escapes).

A combination with a tank, who is by definition someone who is supposed to take alot of hits before he gets killed, should be close to impossible to realise. Because it would create too much frustration for the enemy, you have that guy with incredible mobility, but he also is a tank and therefore you need time to kill him. These 2 combined would mean that it is almost impossible to kill such a champion, you should never combine the ellusiveness of an assassin with the durability of a tank.

The question is:

Does League need a Tank Assassin?
