Vormigaunt: The Iron Chef (Noxian Support)

Lordk0z·7/6/2019, 11:04:32 AM·14 votes·10,090 views

"An army marches on it's stomach"

Playstyle: Tank/Enchanter (Like Taric, but more aggressive and team-oriented rather than defensive and partner-oriented)

Visual Guidelines (I'm no artist)

  • Big and stout, not corpulent or exaggerated like Gragas, but still visibly wide. Think Powerlifters and Strongmen.
  • Utilize armor to draw common themes with other Noxians. Grays and angular design. Use an apron-like design for the Tabard.
  • Weapon is a combination of a mace and a ladle. Round knobs on the bottom.
  • Pot is held on cart, by a short chain dragged behind him. Wheels visible. Some kind of furnace under the pot itself.
  • Potted stew is thick and brownish-red. Have "steam lines" coming off of it.
  • Should have other cooking utensils packed in a backpack. Possible idle/walk animation of throwing some vegetables or whatever into the stew.
  • Stern, "Father to his men" personality.

** Passive: Sustainer of Legions**

Vormigaunt permanently has the following effects on him, and can apply these effects to others via his abilities.

Well Fed: A Well Fed Champion is a happy Champion. Well Fed grants a percent bonus to maximum health and out-of-combat health and mana regeneration that improves significantly with levels.

Delicious: Nothing motivates people like the scent of good food. Vormigaunt (well his pot really) and enemies affected by his abilities are rendered delicious, causing allies to move towards them faster. In a unique interaction, if Chogath or TahmKench eat a Delicious enemy, they gain Well Fed.

Vormigaunt's Taunt consists of him ladling out a serving of soup and holding it out. An ally walking nearby can then pick up this soup to gain Well Fed outside of combat. It is upgraded to filling four bowls at once by level six, and by level eleven, "Noxian Stew" and "Noxian Stew and Biscuits" replace health potions in the shop. These enhanced potions grant Well Fed.

** Q: Soup's On!**

Vormigaunt tugs on the chain of his pot-cart, sending it barreling forward. While doing so, it will deal AP damage, knock aside and slow enemies (Draven E) and render them delicious as a result of the sloshing soup.

While the pot is out on the field, it is Delicious and allies can right click on it to take a quick helping of it, healing themselves and gaining Well Fed.

When either recast after 2 seconds, or it has been out for 10, Vormigaunt yanks back on the chain to pull his pot back to him, dealing the same damage and inflicting the same effects on it's way back.

The pot has a maximum distance it can be from Vormigaunt (1.5x casting range) and will still be dragged along behind him if he is too far away.

A smidge on the overcomplicated side, but simple to understand once you visualize it. He's throwing out pot that heals allies and knocking enemies aside. Basic peeling tool with a reactivation to knock em off twice.

** W: Iron Chef**

Vormigaunt gains a small (5% of Max HP) shield for 5s. As long as the shield remains up, and for 0.5s afterwards, he heals for a large percentage of the damage he takes (~125%). Leveling increases either the healing ratio, or reduces the cooldown, or both.

I went with a basic tank support laning tool for his main defensive. Iron Chef allows Vormigaunt to play actively against enemy harass and make it difficult to take him out of lane without an extended trade... the exact kind that his sustain makes favorable for him.

** E: Tenderizer**

Vormigaunt's next autoattack hits in a large arc infront of him and knocks enemies back. The intense spices and burning soup he just covered their heads causes them to be feared for a short duration and renders them Delicious.

** R: WIP**

So far I have three ideas for an ultimate. A poisoned stew that mesmerizes enemies and lures them in at a mid-short range, a potent feast of healing and buffs for before a fight, or spinning his pot around on it's chain like he's a Noxian Wukong.

Oh and one final note, a potential "Urfigaunt" skin where he turns into a anthropomorphic manatee with a spatula instead of a ladle and makes "Urf's Mana Tea" would be perfect.

Taunt Dialogue

General Here. Try some. You'll fight better with some fire in your belly. Beats dry rations that's for sure. Army food's good for ya. Try some. Hungry? I'll fix that. Eat when you can. We're gonna be busy soon.

"Small" Champions Tristana Ekko You look like you could use some feeding. Here. You look famished. Here. Chin up, you're in the Legion now. And the Legion doesn't let it's own go hungry. Pace yourself. Don't wanna get burned now. ** "Strange" Champions Blitzcrank Bard Velkoz ** Not sure if you even eat but...

**"Big" Champions Volibear Braum ** You'll need some filling that's for sure. Plenty more where that came from. Careful. Filled it to the brim for ya.

Ionians Hmmph. For now. Choke on it.

Alistar Yes. It's beef. Problem?

Ashe Azir JarvanIV Qiyana Apologies if it isn't up to your standards "your majesty".

Nunu Some for you and a whole heap for you.

Darius Even generals have to eat sometime sir.

Draven Eat now. Repeat your own name later.

Chogath Gonna need a bigger pot.

Pantheon Soldier's food. Supposed you're used to that.

Swain Would have prepared something special if I knew you were coming sir.

Katarina Have a spare. You know, for him

Talon Eat. Gonna be a long time before you get another square.

Instant upvote due 2 the title and I love cooking, now time 2 chop the kit 2 little pieces and perfect it!

Right off the bat I'd suggesting switching mana regen with something like Tenacity. Some champions are Mana-intoletant

Questions for the chef: What's the cook time on the passive buff and debuff? Is there a recommended max serving size per unit of time for allies? (Wouldn't want them 2 over eat right?)

For E u probably want a normal fear/flee CC. The FDA (Riot) outlawed the "uncontrollable random movement" of the old fear/flee bc it had unpredictable flavour compound; it could lead to ruining ur own or an allies combo, stuff like that, not very tasty.

I got an ult idea R- This'll put a fire in ur belly Chef prepares a special soup, for the next 8 seconds Well Fed allies spout flames dealing DoT and reduce the damage they take in the direction they are facing. After 2 seconds all Well fed allies are Granted Tenderizser.

Love the concept. We need a noxian support, and more lore around their military/conquest. Maybe tone that E down to be like a slow or something instead of old fiddle fear?

Q looks super fun. Always welcome new enchanter tank ideas! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I’m pretty sure Taric and arguably Braum are the only ones so far

The third one For his ultimate seems nice, but instead of a knocking them up or aside, it can mark them with; get this, "Very Delicious!" for a short time, Very Delicious working like Delicious but also reducing there MR and Armor by a Percentage.

I much prefer this over the generic "Noxian drill-sergeant support" idea people throw around. This has some flavour (heh) and allows Riot to show a different side of the Noxian military. A good chef is vital to keep your army's morale high and well fed so they can fight, and with how successful Noxus is they must have some great chefs.

The ult should be something inspired by the Iron Chef TV show, with a “Secret Ingredient” effect that stays on a specific enemy champion for several minutes, probably a snowball effect. I’ll let you figure out the specifics, since I can’t come up with anything decent. Just think outside the box.
