Debuffs are part of a design space that Riot has a love-hate relationship with. They're really cool and fun to the kind of players who have a head for keeping track of mechanics, and almost completely unnoticed (despite their power) by the grand majority unless they are MASSIVE in effect or have horrendously obnoxious particle effects.

Riot wages a constant war with this tendency of their playerbase, and it can be seen everywhere. Wherever there is mention of "invisible power", it's talking about a Champion's spell effect that nobody knows about because nobody reads tooltips.

There are more debuffs in this game than there appear to be at first glance, but they are hidden away as secondary effects of other spells. They are, once again, very useful and cool for the players that know about them, but most have no idea, even if they play that Champion.

For example, Gragas' Q used to have a huge attack speed slow on it. When it got removed in the patch notes, everybody went "Wait, it had an AS slow?" The complexity and utility of any effect in LoL is inherently limited by what the playerbase can handle, and an entire Champion devoted to debuffs would certainly be out of their grasp.

Well Said. You think it would sick tho right?.. if there was a support champ that just puts the pain on you.. Have a q called "maim" and he just punishes you for chasing.
