[Champion Concept] Tortuska, the Riftborn
Hi guys, this idea has been floating around on my computer for a couple of weeks now, and now that I've given it a final rework, here it is!
Tortuska is a tortoise, native to the Summoner's Rift and, like the monsters that inhibit the jungle, manipulated by its magic. However, Tortuska had evolved further than his friends, causing him to gain consciousness and be capable of speech. He is a wise and caring being, not caring for fighting as much as helping creatures in need. And that's about as far as the lore goes at the moment. :P
Sadly I am not very good at making graphics, so I'll try to explain his appearance instead. Tortuska is a large, pale brown tortoise with an even larger rocky shield. Between the cracks of his shield travels magical energy, through blue veins. He would have a slight smile on his wrinkly face, his eyes hanging low. Basically the typical facial expression of any cartoon turtle.

Pro's
- One of the most tanky champions in the game.
- Offers a great amount of sustain to his allies, in all phases of the game.
- Good at taking objectives with his team.
- While he is slow, enemy slows barely affect him.
- High burst damage if he gets close to his target.
Cons
- By far the most immobile champion in the game.
- Limited offensive capability.
- Mana hungry.

Passive - Testudo
Tortuska and allies within a 250-unit radius take 22% (+1% per level) less damage from one area-of-effect attack, after which it enters a 15 second cooldown. Every hit that Tortuska takes from enemy champions reduces the cooldown by 3 seconds.
- If Tortuska is withdrawn, the cooldown is reduced to 10 seconds.
Q - Tremble
Passive: Tortuska's basic attacks critically strike for 120/140/160/180/200% damage against enemy champions with impaired movement. This cannot occur on the same target more than once every 4 seconds.
Active: Tortuska stamps on the ground, causing a shockwave to travel towards a target location within 700 range. Upon reaching its destination, the ground erupts, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (+70% AP) magic damage to enemies within a 150-unit radius and stunning them for 1 second, followed by a 28/36/44/52/60% slow for 1.5 seconds. Enemies hit during its travel take 70% of the damage and are only slowed.
- If Tortuska is withdrawn, cast range is increased to 850/975/1100 units.
Mana cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12
W - Nurture
Toggle: Tortuska slows himself by 10% to increase his armor and magic resist by 12/18/24/30/36 (+3% AP), and the armor and magic resist of nearby allies by 8/12/16/20/24 (+3% AP). Additionally, slows affecting him have their strength reduced by 50%.
- If Tortuska is withdrawn, he sacrifices his own health regen to grant (5% max HP) + (50% health regen) health regen to nearby allies. This amount is increased by 0.5/1/1.5% for every 1% of health they're missing. Mana cost is increased by 4 for every allied champion healed.

E - Protect
Active: Covers an allied unit for 2.5 seconds in a barrier that reduces the damage taken from the next 3 attacks by 60/65/70/75/80%, 40/45/50/55/60%, and 20/25/30/35/40%, respectively. After taking 3 hits, the barrier shatters, dealing 60/85/110/135/160 (+30% AP) magic damage in a 150-unit radius.
- If Tortuska is withdrawn, the target ally becomes immune to disables for as long as the shield is active.

R - Withdraw
Toggle: Tortuska immobilizes himself to enhance his basic abilities. While he is withdrawn, he becomes immune to forced action (flee, taunt, charm), and gains a shield equal to 20% of his maximum health until destroyed. The shield refreshes after 60/50/40 seconds.

- Purchasing Warmog's armour as soon as possible greatly increases the sustain of your allies through enhanced Nurture (W).
- Withdraw (R) can be a decent zoning tool, especially near objectives like dragon, Baron or turrets.
- Building movement speed (through runes, masteries and items) is essential if you want to maximize Nurture (W)'s efficiency.
Playing against Tortuska
Spells:
Items: 





- Try to disable Tortuska's passive before launching a strong AoE-attack his way.
- Save a displacement ability for Tortuska, so that you can remove the Nurture (W) aura from his allies.
- Tortuska grants massive health regen to his team when he is withdrawn with Warmog’s armour. Poking him will deny most of it for 8 seconds.
Strong against champions with area-of-effect attacks, heavy slows and/or predictable CC abilities.



Weak against champions with true damage (of course) and heavy displacement abilities.



Synergizes with (ranged) champions that possess a decent amount of CC, enabling him to keep up with the fight.
