Redwood, is a ghost pirate, who died with a curse on his head, years before Gangplank's fall from power. With his skillful swordfighting ability, and lackluster shooting ability, Redwood wishes to return from his state of roaming the earth as a dead man, to sailing the seas as a Plunderer. He will prove that even after death, he can best Death once again.

Lore http://img.weburbanist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Ghost_Ships_EP.jpg “Gather round lads. I be’ spinnin’ ye a tale from me own grandpappy. Mythical stories speak of legends. They describe stories of kings, and monsters, and demons. But no story had ever mentioned of Redwood. Some say, he was the greatest plunderer the world had ever seen! His cutlass was made of diamond itself. I speak of no devil when I tell ya all this, however the man was clever, conniving, ‘n brutal. He had an old saying that went”
“I’ve bested death before.”
“No man’s ever stood up... And lived... HIs crew fear’d him til’ the sun burnt out. But then... He entered into a storm. His ship tossed ‘n turned. The waters threatened to rip his boards into pieces. And they would if he let ‘em. His crew on the other hand... They begged the man to turn around - didn’t wanna go through with it. He just kept utterin’ his phrase ‘I have bested death before.’ and kept goin forward. His boards broke, his sails ripped. They went down... But before that, he was met by a ghastly figure. And his voice was as deep as the sea. But Redwood wasn’t afraid o’ nothin’. He foolishly threatened to shoot the ghost, and his gun just... Exploded. After that, the ghost spoke. He cursed Redwood with death.”
“Bester of death You are now condemned for your actions. You will sail no longer. You will live your life as a ghost of a man. Following you will be a crew of skeletons. You will purchase their services And they will immediately die. They fight for you But tire of fighting. They help you But resent you. You will never rebuild your ship Or anything like it.”
“The fool, with nothin’ to lose, finished his conversation with the ghost. And said: ‘Amen to that’. Ah what’re ye shiverin’ about? It’s just a tale, you bunch ‘o cowards. “ -
Captain Gangplank to his crew.

Tips:
Playing As Redwood
- Your priority should be on farming and collecting Gold Pieces, as you'll end up with lots of gold efficiency and power as the game progresses.
- Use Cutlass Cutter when you know you'll be fighting for at least 2 seconds. It has a high mana cost, and a high cooldown, meaning you'll be unavailable to fight back properly for a long time.
- Swindler's Word makes for a great tool to buff yourself in the midst of a fight.
- The Plundering is Redwood's main ability. Do not mistakenly use it, or you will be able to be punished.
- Spend your Gold Pieces strategically. Putting them into more damage is a choice, but durability is also useful is scenarios.
Playing Against Redwood
- Redwood will scale very well if you allow him to farm. Deny him from collecting Gold Pieces as best as you can.
- Redwood is a strong trader due to Cutlass Cutter. Avoid being marked twice, or he will be able to take a quick bit your health.
- Absolutely do not fight while The Plunderer is active. The additional Pirates may prove to be overwhelming while solo.
- Ganking Redwood is an effective way to kill him outright without fear of losing too much health.
- Pay attention to the purchases Redwood makes using Gold Pieces. They might indicate what to build or how to play against him.
