Why is it called Infernal Drake??
Every other Dragon is based off of a noun, but then you have "Infernal" which is an adjective.
Why is it not called "Volcano Drake" or "Inferno Drake" instead, to be consistent?

It's sad because it's true.
Because "Rocky", "Breezy" and "Splashy" didnt make the cut.

+1 this made me laugh
but it also make my wonder why the hell we spell "fiery" not "firey", why swap the E and the R? that's English for you..
The real question is how did it come to Fire when Fier fits both phonetically and it follows a clear line from Old English (fyr) to Middle English (fier) to Modern English (fire).
It's been a long time since I took linguistics but when a language acquires new vowels and dipthongs (smashing two vowels together in a single syllable) it approximates them with current writing characters, and English was missing quite a few vowels and dipthongs back in the really old days and today it's still missing a whole class of vowels (it also lost some from Old to Middle English). And typically English speakers don't bother trying to maintain the phonetic characteristics of words it borrows from other languages with American English being an exception (look up how to pronounce Don Quixote if you want a good example). And Fyr was a borrowed word from another language which was borrowed from another and another.
But if I had to guess as to why it's Fire and not still Fier is because Fier was a noun and only a noun and as it acquired verbal usage (something Germanic languages are good at) and moved from the noun phrase to the predicate or verb phrase usage it also acquired the ability to be used as an adjective and adverb. And Old English handled that VERY differently than modern English. Housen and Moosen and Oxen for houses more than one moose and such and adverbs and adjectives were even more strange. The s was used at the end of a word to indicate past tense whereas ed was later used. And because of these differences the Fier became Fire so you could say things like Fiery and Fired and with it the spelling also changed to enable this usage. If I had to put a timestamp on this I'd say around the time gunpowder started appearing you see a change which ought to be Middle Englishy time.
Water: Easy Wind: Breezy Earth: Covergirl
Volcano drake sounds terrible. Infernal drake sounds good. So looks like they chose what sounds good over consistency.
Inferno drake
Cause nobody cares what they are called lol
Internal Drake is special, people go after it like celebrities.
Ya know, that's a really good point. Ocean, Mountain, Cloud, ... infernal.
[zombie-brand-mindblown]
Riot can't be consistent, that'd actually make sense, and we know they don't like doing that.
Expecting consistency from Riot..
WHEEZE
Oh boy..
Water, earth, air, fire
The four elements coexisted in harmony, each taking a noun specific name.
But then one day, the fire dragon attacked, because he wanted to troll the nitpicks out there [sg-miss-fortune]
Because it doesn't matter
Because that infernal dragon is made to make somebody's life utter hell.
I'd personally like to cast a vote for "Spicy Drake"
you have my upvote
Why are they even called drakes when they are actually dragons?
I always call them fire, water, air and erath dragon. Doesn't matter anyways.
