Since Warwick is getting a rework, I though about a new way for his Blood Scent:

I love Warwick. Hes one of my favorite jungler ever (If I am lucky enough to actually get the jungle), and honestly, seeing him getting a rework really makes me happy. One of his abilities that always felt kinda meh to me was Blood Scent, especially since I barely ever used it to full potential. I am pretty sure It helped enemys way more than it helped me, when i accidently forgot to switch it of when ganking...

When you think about removing the "Hit to heal" passive, that ability could also become his new passive(in that case i would cut the movement speed part and give him another way to get to his target), I always thought it wasnt nearly good enough to justify putting points into it anyway...

So I was thinking of a reworked version that fit his hunter theme and has the same purpose, but isnt totaly useless in 90% of all scenarios.

Blood Scent

Warwick can smell the blood of his Enemies. His ability to smell them becomes stronger depending on how wounded they are. This Ability has a very large, maybe even global, range 10-20% missing HP: Warwick can smell if they were around within the last 10 seconds. An Aura below his feet tells the player that Warwick is smelling the presence of Prey.

20-40% missing HP: Warwick can smell the general direction of his prey. It doesn’t show him exactly which direction they are, it only works in 8 directions around Warwick (see red arrows around Warwick).

40-60% missing HP: Warwick can pin his prey down to an area of the map. He still can’t see them, but a mist of blood in the fog of war tells him the area his prey is in. It’s not directly in the center, the mist is kinda randomly moving but the low HP Champion is always within the mist. When he gets closer to his prey, he gains slightly increased movement speed while moving towards his prey.

>60% missing HP: Warwick gains sight of the enemy. When he gets closer to his prey, he gains massively increased movement speed while moving towards his prey.

>80% Missing HP: Warwick gains true sight of the enemy.

That one is just because I think its stupid that a hunter who smells blood can somehow lose the scent because his target became invisible.

Making the ability usefull as soon as an enemy is wounded would really improve Warwicks performance as a hunter Champion and would give him a very powerful tool for counter jungeling, while the numbers would stop it from becoming too strong. He can now kinda know the enemy position 10% missing HP earlier, but therefore gets the sight 10% later.

I like it, seems fairly balanced.

Not a big ww fan but that could be an interesting mechanic.

And maybe when he gets sight he runs on all fours towards them to clarify the movement speed buff

Honestly one of the better ideas I've ever seen for a champion. The passive itself isn't "overloaded" in that it does 28 different things, it is utility based so no shield, heals, or damage. It (could) be team utility if allies get to see the enemy when below the true vision threshold, and is easily balanced by tweaking around the numbers to hit at different % health.

I would love to see a tracking mechanic on WW. It seems so fitting.

Shit's crazy, good job mate! +1!

I've thought about replacements/reworks for this too, and one idea I really liked was that wounded enemies leave a trail of 'scent' on them (like Singed poison) and when Warwick moves along this he gains movement speed, ideally more than what it currently gives.

Someone has been playing BloodSeeker

Or not

Either way this is a cool idea

Troll for Trump5/13/2016, 8:50:18 PM4 votes

Well CertainlyT is in charge of it... and almost all his champs are broken or horrible(Mordekaiser Rework).

Also doesn't seem to communicate that well.

But yeah his ideas are really innovative, just really hard to balance.

If this were to be added to Warwick's kit i think it would be pretty nice if they made a special ping for the mini-map to let your allies know that Warwick is hunting down a teammate and instead, its a trail of scent that fades away after a short amount of time like a singed Q and if Warwick keeps directly on this trail he begins to ramp up speed. But thats just my idea, either way your idea is really good*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

I will bump this because it sways toward the predator aspect in real life. Nice concept and makes his e a little more viable

Hunting Mechanics cool enough to make Rengar Jealous!!

+1

My idea for Warwick's new passive was to replace it with Blood Scent as well, however in my version Warwick can track wounded enemies by following a scent trail that the wounded enemy leaves (Think Ekko's time shadow) which gets longer the more injured they are

This would really lend itself to the warewolf fantasy. I would tweak a couple of things about it, but the general idea is great.

I would have it to be a hot or cold game essentially. If WW is travelling in the correct direction of a wounded enemy he gets a small burst of speed, almost like a small dash. If you go in the correct direction you will be able to hunt your enemy down far quicker. This would need to be balanced by giving him a relatively low base movement speed.

I LIKE IT. Have an +1

On a side note, what do you think is the most essential parts of Warwick I believe it is sustain and easy accessibility for new players.

I hope it is like shen's update, New Passive, New W, Updated E, Updated R, Don't know about Q though (AP Warwick Mid is kinda Awesome )

Smithney5/14/2016, 12:24:31 PM1 votes

I was toying with something similar in one of my own champion concepts. It's definitely a mechanic I would welcome in the League. The sad thing is, however, that CertainlyT is likely already through with his own kit, probably smoothing it out at this time.

Regardless it's nice to see people thinking up stuff like this. Good work! :)

From what I've read, there are some very good ideas for WW here. I'll be sure to link this thread if I decide to touch up on Warwick.

I have only one thing to say about this idea....... http://images-cdn.9gag.com/photo/a5dnn7q_700b.jpg?noredirect

GigaPube5/14/2016, 4:11:56 PM1 votes

probably not happening for a year. theres another 'ick with higher priority

Lightspawn5/15/2016, 11:20:21 PM1 votes

What about early game counter jungling? That seems broken for champs that get really low early...but when i think about it that could be fixed easily. Good idea

iamthegoatofwar5/13/2016, 10:52:10 PM1 votes

hmmm seems interesting and I play a good bit of warwick. I was thinking of making him feel like he was truly tracking and having him sniff the areas they were injured at or something like that.

AverageSpoon5/17/2016, 7:43:35 PM1 votes

I was thinking about a similar idea for a new Rengar ult. I thought instead of him being about deleting a champion in half a second he could have the same ultimate as now except instead of just jumping on them he marks them dealing damage, then immediately becomes invisible again. The "marked" target is then heavily slowed and then slightly slowed for a certain duration and very slowly bleeds. that blood can be seen on the ground by Rengar. Marked targets take 25% increased damage from Rengar.

IDK needs a lot of work but I feel like it would be more fair on the receiving end because you know he is hunting you. and I think it's awesome for the Rengar player. Making him feel like he is hunting a target and can track them.

LEAVE MY BOY WW ALONE [zombie-nunu-tears]

Greenheath5/14/2016, 3:35:00 AM1 votes

I've thought the same. Your idea's a little more fleshed out than mine tho. Woud be a LOT more thematic imo

Corrupto1235/14/2016, 8:51:09 AM1 votes

just curious. what happens if the opponent has less than 60% missing HP (let's take 61%) then he uses heal? will ww lose sight of the enemy? this can be too buggy. but i love the idea. TAKE THIS SHIT TO SHARK TANK NAAAAAO
