1. Personnality and appearance Artheis is calm and collected, but also kindhearted and extremely empathetic. He is curious, but mostly keeps to himself because of his incertitude about his own origin. Artheis appears as a young man with pale skin, short white-blond hair and deep purple eyes with cat-like pupils. He is dressed entirely in immaculate white clothes rimmed with gold. He wears knee-high boots of supple leather, loosely fitting pants and a airy tunic made of a light cloth. His hands and his neck are covered in intricate, flowing tattoos of a very pale blue color that crawl up his wrists and down his collarbone, hinting at more tattoos. In his left hand he wields a massive bow of pure silver that is adorned with gold, but he carries no quiver and no arrows. Artheis' voice is soft and calm, almost reassuring. His walking animation has him lightly bouncing forward. He moves quickly and gracefully on the balls of his feet. His heels only touch the ground when he is standing still. His attack animation is similar to Varus' in the sense that he does not draw from a quiver, instead he creates a stream of pure silvery light with a tapered end that he launches at his target. When the attack is a critical strike, the arrow is larger, brighter and looks more like an arrow than a simple beam of light with a sharp end. For his death animation, Artheis' body is lifted in the air with head thrown back and his hands on either side of him. His bow floats right next to him. A silvery mist rushes out of Artheis' eyes and mouth while the bow quickly dissipates into tiny motes of light. Once this is done, his lifeless body falls to the ground.

2. Lore The strange being known as Artheis is as mysterious to himself as he is to others. Despite his generally human appearance, upon closer inspection it is obvious to all that Artheis is no mere young man. Upon seeing his strange eyes, most are scared, but those who dare to fight back their fear soon discover that those unsettling eyes hide a polite and considerate person. Always eager to help, the amnesiac Artheis hopes that by helping others, he will one day discover where he came from. To any who would listen, he will tell the simple tale of what he remembers. One night, he awoke in a dungeon, surrounded by a glowing circle of arcane runes and the sounds of men chanting in a strange tongue. One of them, wielding a stone carved with runes similar to the markings that cover Artheis' own skin, commanded him to kneel and so he did. For months, the young man was bent to this man's will, never allowed to utter a word unless spoken to, never capable of resisting even his most gruesome demands. Operating within the dark walls of Noxus, Artheis soon became a feared phantom assassin, slipping unseen and unheard through mighty fortresses and ending the lives of men and women he knew nothing about. His destiny seemed to change for the better when, as he was about to loose an arrow from his deadly bow, the compulsion that had driven him simply faded. Relieved but wary, Artheis made his way back to his master's sprawling mansion, only to find the house set aflame and its owner being dragged in chains by a large man with white-streaked, onyx hair wielding an immense axe. Artheis watched as the man was summarily beheaded in the streets for all to see. Hours later, he sifted through the rubbles of his prison, hoping to find the stone that had controlled him, but he never did. The young man, who holds no memories prior to his capture and abuse, now roams the land, looking for someone who might have answers. Following the advice of an elderly crone, he has set his sight on the island nation of Ionia, whose mystics are reputed to be the wisest across all Valoran. Artheis knows not what answers he will find, if any, but he is determined to find the origins of his strange appearance and even stranger powers.

3. Role Primary: Mage Secondary: Assassin

Attack Power: 5 Defense Power: 4 Ability Power: 7 Difficulty: 6

Artheis is a long range, fairly mobile magic damage dealer that specializes in single target damage. However, under the right circumstances, he can deal large amounts of area of effect damage. Artheis pays for his high damage potential with his lack of reliable damage, lack of burst damage and his very conditional crowd control effect. Artheis is entirely reliant on skill shots and good positioning to do his job. His ultimate also requires good timing to use properly.

4. Base Stats

Health: 502-1871 Health Regeneration: 5.4-14.8 Mana: 385-1200 Mana Regeneration: 6.0-19.6 Range: 550 Attack Damage: 54-105 Attack Speed: 0.665 (+0%-59.95%) Armor: 19-84 Magic Resistance: 30 Movement Speed: 335

5. Kit

Passive - Phantasmal Run Every 90 seconds, Artheis can transform into a wisp for 1.5 second by issuing a movement command while holding down the ALT key. While under this effect, Artheis is untargetable, unaffected by slowing effects, can pass through terrain and units, but cannot perform any action other than moving. Hitting an enemy with a spell will reduce Phantasmal Run’s cooldown by 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds (value updates at levels 1, 5, 9, 13 and 17).

Q - Spirit Shot Cost: 40/60/80/100/120 mana Cooldown: 6/5.25/4.5/3.75/3 seconds Range: 1100 Width: 60 Missile Speed: 1900 Artheis shoots an arrow of pure light that deals 70/110/150/190/230 (+70% ability power) magic damage to the first target hit. If it kills its target, the arrow continues onward. This can repeat indefinitely until the arrow reaches its maximum distance. If this ability hits an enemy, half of its mana cost and cooldown are refunded. This ability can be cast while moving.

W - Divine Sentinels Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 mana Cooldown: 10/8.5/7/5.5/4 seconds (starts after the effect ends) Range: 1000 Width: 80 Delay: 0.425 second Artheis summons three sentinels that hover around him for up to 6 seconds. While the sentinels hover around Artheis, he gains 150 bonus range. When Artheis performs a basic attack, one of the sentinels launches a beam towards the target that deals 30/45/60/75/90 (+35% ability power) magic damage to all enemies it passes through, then vanishes. Each time a beam hits an enemy champion, Artheis gains 20%/30%/40%/50%/60% bonus movement speed that rapidly decays over 1 second.

E - Hunter's Mark Cost: 90 mana Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds Range: 900 Leash Range: 1400 Width: 60 Missile Speed: 1300 (Passive) Basic attacks deal 4 (+2 per level) (+10% ability power) bonus magic damage. Additional attacks against the same target increase the bonus magic damage done by the same amount. This stacks up to 2 times, for a maximum of 12 (+6 per level) (+30% ability power) magic damage per attack, and lasts 6 seconds. (Active) Artheis launches a sphere of energy that latches onto the first enemy hit, marking it with a rune for the next 3 seconds. While the rune is active, Artheis can reactivate Hunter’s Mark to start channeling for up to 1 second. Over the duration of the channel, Artheis launches one attack every 0.2 second. Each attack deals 16/27/38/49/60 (+18% ability power) magic damage. If Artheis lands all five shots, the target is stunned and revealed for 1.5 second. While channeling, this ability can be reactivated to end the channel early. If the target walks out of range of Artheis during the channel, it immediately ends.

R - Spiritual Ascension Cost: 100 mana Cooldown: 130/115/100 seconds After a short channel of 1 second, Artheis empowers himself for 10 seconds. His spells are empowered and he generates 10 stacks of Spiritual Energy per second. Hitting an enemy champion with an ability generates 5 stacks of Spiritual Energy. Artheis can have up to 100 stacks of S_piritual Energy_. Once Artheis reaches 100 stacks of Spiritual Energy, he can cast Celestial Wrath, which immediately ends Spiritual Ascension.

Phantasmal Run: Can be cast while under the effect of any crowd control effect, nullifying it for the duration of Phantasmal Run. Spirit Shot: If the target does not die, the projectile explodes, dealing 50% damage in a small area around it (200 units on all sides of the target hit). Divine Sentinels: Artheis gains 50%/75%/100% bonus attack speed while W is active. Hunter’s Mark: The sphere passes through enemies, marking each enemy hit. When reactivated, Artheis launches attacks against all marked targets.

R2 - Celestial Wrath Cost: 100 mana + 100 Spiritual Energy Range: 1500 Area of Effect: 450 Angle: 180 Delay: 0.4 second Artheis channels his powers, overcharging his bow and lifting himself up in the air. Over the course of the next 3 seconds, he will shoot at the location of the cursor every 0.5 second. Artheis can only shoot in an arc in front of himself. Each shot deals 100/150/200 (+30% ability power) magic damage in a small area. Reactivating this ability will end it early.

6. Ability Details

Passive The passive does not cleanse slows. Rather, it makes it so while it is active, Artheis is immune to slows. Therefore, if the slowing effect persists once Phantasmal Run ends, Artheis will still be slowed. The same thing applies to any form of CC that might affect Artheis if he uses Phantasmal Run while Spiritual Ascension, his ultimate, is active. If the effect ends while Artheis is inside a wall, he will be forced out of the wall and reappear at the nearest available space.

W This ability is similar to Lucian's Q. When you attack a target while W is active, one of the 3 sentinels will start to shoot a beam at this target's location. After a 0.425 second delay, the beam will be launched at where the target was when Artheis first attacked it. The beams themselves have a range of 1000 and can therefore shoot past the target of the basic attack.

R While this is active, Artheis is surrounded by a glow and a large runic symbol appears to float behind him (kinda like Zilean's clock or Karma's ionian crest).

R2 The blasts can only be shot in a 180 angle in front of Artheis, at a maximum of 1500 range. While this is happening, Artheis floats in the air and three massive lances of light appear on each side of him, around his shoulders. When he launches a blast, he grabs one of the lances and shoots it with his bow.

7. Lore (long version)

A light rain fell from the clouded night sky, wetting the paved way that led to the great temple that loomed over the large village of Shiansei. Nestled between two hills, the village was as calm as one would expect in the dead of the night. For the first time in a month, the city slept well, unencumbered by the worries that had plagued it. Artheis made his way towards the large doors of carved stone that guarded the entrance to the holy site. He was unsure to what gods or philosophy the temple was dedicated; he had not thought to ask, for his questions had been many when he had first arrived. Ionians seemed to venerate all sorts of things, from simple tenets to complex pantheons of creatures that populated every single thing. They were, as a people, much more in tune with their spirituality than the power-hungry elite of Noxus he had observed before. His gaze turned downwards as he found himself fascinated by the way the rain drops would fall down and explode once they touched the stones, merging with the rest of their kind. He chuckled, wondering if it was normal to find such a simple thing so mesmerizing. The water did not touch him or his vestments. Through some process Artheis knew almost nothing of, the drops simply glided along skin and cloth without truly touching either. He did not wish to be wet and so he was not. There ended his comprehension of the phenomenon. He hoped that tonight he would find some answers. Artheis stopped in front of the gates, not daring to knock on them. The old priestess had told him to come to her as soon as the task was done, but Artheis could not help but wonder if he would wake her from her slumber. From what he had been told, sleep was essential for most humans and he was loathe to rob one of their well earned rest. As he raised his clenched fist, a strange whisper suddenly filled his mind. He could not make out its content, but he knew what it meant. It was an invitation. Lowering his hand, Artheis focused his will for a moment. Suddenly, his whole body faded into a dim, silvery light and his being folded onto itself. His perception of the world did not change, but he knew he now had the appearance of a simple ball of light shrouded in a silvery mist. He moved forward, passing effortlessly through the stone doors. Following the direction imprinted onto his mind by the whisper, Artheis made his way into the temple, using the torch-lit corridors so as to not intrude upon one’s private chambers. He arrived at the end of a corridor and passed through a wooden door adorned with many painted engravings depicting mystical beasts wandering through phantasmal landscapes. Artheis entered the room and reformed himself, taking on once again the shape of a young man. The room was obviously someone’s private apartments. Unlike the cells of simple initiates, this room was vast and walls of painted paper divided it into numerous sections. The room was warm and inviting and a light smell of incense filled the air. A heatless flame hovered near the ceiling, providing light but also casting dancing shadows across the room. Standing near the door was the occupants of this room, dressed in large robes of jade and teal with massive sleeves. The great priestess of this temple was a diminutive woman with dark hair somehow yet untouched by gray and sharp black eyes that seemed wise beyond even her venerable years. Her face was almost devoid of any creases and furrows, probably because she made a show of her emotionless facade. The townsfolk spoke of her as if she was eternal, as though she had always been there and would still be here when they would be long gone. Artheis wondered if she had somehow cheated time.

« Is it done? » Her voice was soft and calm, almost a whisper. Artheis smiled, knowing full well that she did not need her question answered. « The beast has been slain. » He paused, studying her for a hint of emotion, be it satisfaction of otherwise. She displayed none. « What was it? The villagers called it a demon. It seemed as though only my arrows could harm it… » « Ah, yes, your arrows. Arrows made of pure light, conjured from the depths of your mind and soul, no? I had a feeling they would do the trick. »

Without another word, she turned around, making her way towards the back of the room. Artheis silently followed her. She opened one of the painted doors, revealing a small space completely bare of any furniture or adornment. Its floor was different, made of glassy tiles.

« This is where you come to meditate, isn’t it? » « Your intuition is correct. » She turned around, studying him intensely. « One might say it is uncanny. » « It… merely seemed logical, » Artheis replied, suddenly uncomfortable. A small smile passed over her lips, but it was gone in an instant. « You came for your payment, did you not? » As she asked her question, she fetched a small, delicate brush and a pot of ink from within her sleeves. Artheis merely nodded in response. « Do you know what we worship within these halls? You did not inquire about it when you were here earlier, but maybe you brushed the subject while you were in town. » « No, I was too busy slaying a shadowy creature bent on killing a child. » « Ah, I see. What a single-minded hero you are. » She opened the ink pot and wet the tip of her brush, then turned around and bent down. « In Ionia, we are very much aware that the world does not begin and end with what we can touch, hear, taste, smell or see. » As she spoke, she started painting on the glass floor, creating intricate, swirling patterns. « There are many sages and mystics throughout this land, each devoted to one form of wisdom or another. I am the keeper of this temple and of an ancient tradition that predates Ionia’s oldest political institutions. Before we learned to rule ourselves, my people learned to explore lands unseen through our stunted physical senses. In this temple, we follow the ways of the dream walkers. Through meditation and archaic rituals, we reach into the spirit world and there we communicate with beings whose knowledge dwarfs that of all the sentient races of Valoran. In return for their gift of wisdom, we offer our praise and our devotion. Through this relationship, they further their unbounded understanding of this universe and we gain certain abilities. » She stood back up, hands on her hips, examining her handywork. She seemed satisfied with it, for she closed the ink pot, wiped the brush on a stained hankerchief she had produced from the depths of her sleeves, and hid every item back where they came from. « That’s how you reached out to me… In my head. Those vision that guided me to this very temple, you sent them! You said you merely spoke for those who summoned me here. » « I did not lie, I merely misrepresented reality, for it is not I who delivered this message, but lesser spirits who were bound to do my bidding. I had to make sure you could complete the task I set for you before revealing what I know. » « And what do you know, exactly? » « I know many things. About you? I know that you are kind and eager to help others, but also that you isolate yourself. I know that you have strange powers. I know that you need not rest or breathe, that you do not require sustenance and that you are a stranger to the pains of thirst. I know that you are unaware of your origins. Tonight, you also confirmed some of my suspicions. You see, what you defeated was no mere demon taking physical form. It was a malevolent spirit, reaching into our world, yet staying behind the veil that separates it from the creature’s own land. Your arrows harmed it, however. This means that you are deeply connected to the spirit world. How, I do not know. What you are, I do not know either. However, I do know this: you will not find those answers here. Your destiny will lead you elsewhere. Where is a mystery to me, but I know those who might give you shrouded clues. They will not be the answers you seek, but is it not better than nothing? » « Yes, I suppose. » Artheis paused, uncertain as to what would happen next.

The priestess raised her right hand, which was clenched into a fist, above the flowing runes she had painted. She uttered a few words in a strange tongue, and then opened her hand, releasing some golden dust. Instead of falling down, the dust coalesced into a swirling cloud. The metallic specks reflected the distant light from the fire.

« Gaze into the dust, for it is a window into the spirit world. Some of its more ancient denizens have agreed to allow you a glimpse into your future to set you on the path you need to follow. » She paused, visibly uncertain. This seemed very out of character for this woman who always appeared in complete control of herself and her surroundings. « You must know… I did not find you, they did. They offered me this solution, this deal. For some reason, the spirits have taken a great interest in you. They regard you with respect. I could sense from them a feeling of kinship. I do not know why. »

Unsure what to do with this information, Artheis muttered a hesitant thank before focusing his gaze on the dust cloud. It was moving slowly, as if pushed by unseen waves. The spectacle was eerie. As he stared into this so-called window, images started to flash into his mind. They were chaotic, wordless, but filled with meaning and emotion. Artheis could feel a number of other consciousnesses reaching towards his, delivering fragmented messages. After what seemed like an eternity, the communication ended. He gasped in surprised. « I saw… a lone man, a warrior carried by the winds. His past is shrouded in lies and his future is unsure. He… I think he will lead me to the answers I seek. » « Then you must find him, » the priestess replied simply. « But I have no idea where he is! » Artheis protested, suddenly feeling defeated. « Then you must commune with the spirits. Obviously, you are able to do so. What you just did usually requires years of training. I believe you may not need all those artifices to speak with them. » « How? » « Try meditation, » she said with a small laugh. « Now, it is very late and I am weary. I thank you for ridding the village of its dreadful visitor, but I must bid you good night. » « Thank you, » Artheis said.

He left Shiansei that night, filled with more questions than when he had arrived but for once in months certain of his path.

Hey there! Allow me to say that this champion is interesting, but the numbers make this champion quite scary and OP.

CCOS BONUS

I am here to give feedback. Fair of course.

While reading this I can't help but wonder if he was inspired by Varus. His Q and E oddly resemble Varus's Q and W with slight variations. Just curious on that.

Onto the feedback!

Passive Let's start with the passive. For the most part it is interesting and unique. Nothing of note here for me to see.

Q This one I have more to say on. 1s cooldown? That's almost instant at 40% CDR and not even needing CDR it is still a fast cast with insanely high damage for something like that.

Varus's Q at max is 8s. The lowest CD I've seen is Karthus's Q which is set at 1s static and deals half of the damage your Q does and is a one off ability. Meaning it doesn't keep going after someone dies. Karthus's Q also has less range than your Q.

Currently this ability is extremely OP. Extremely low CD and decently high damage and scaling. 70% Scaling with 600 AP would be 230+420 for a total of 650 damage every 1s. Hitting enemies every second for 3s would be dealing 1950 every 3s. That's a lot. That's damn near a Nunu Ult since his cast time is about the same. Granted, his is AoE. If you're accurate you can kite ANYONE forever and kill them all with that CD and damage.

Also, does this ability take in account magic resist or armor as well? Add in magic pen or armor pen (whatever is needed) this ability will hurt.

Suggestions Increase that cooldown or decrease the damage. Also, is there a windup like for Varus's Q or a slight delay like with Karthus's Q? If not then yeah. Damage or CD need to be changed. Currently this ability is strong. Really strong.

W On the W. This one is interesting. There's not much I can say about it. Though the cooldown is again too low. I only have one question. Can the beam be dodged? Imo, it should be able to be dodge.

As for the cooldown. It's really low again. A 6s effect for 4 CD? Granted, it's after the effect ends, but still.

Suggestions With CDR that will be an almost instant other 6s. Increase the CD. At least double it to 6s or possible to 8.

Having short cooldowns on abilities needs a bit of counterplay. Currently, it's only "Dodge" it. Which is kinda silly. Especially on that Q which can be fired really fast, then with 40% CDR that's 1.6s CD which almost grants permanent damage. Are you going for a Kayle thing? Can the beam crit?

E The E. It's passive alone is strong. I'm guessing the 6s refreshes when he continuously hits an enemy? Anyways, that's every attack at 600 AP dealing 300 AP at lvl 18. Twisted Fate does a similar thing, but every 4th attack and is just as powerful. This passive at max stacks is doing every attack what TF does every 4th attack. See my issue here? This also reminds me of Varus's Passive a bit.

The other part of this ability. Interesting. Can the shots be dodge? If so, awesome. If not, allow them to be. Cause getting stunned and not able to counter it....well, RIP teams. Especially if this is cast during your ultimate.

Suggestions Make the passive weaker as it is a TF's E but instead of every 4th it is every attack. Even Varus's Blight doesn't do that much. Or, keep the damage but make the damage only be after the stacks reach max stacks, and allow for the stacks to wear off if not getting hit by him.

Make the shots dodge able.

R This one I will have the feedback and suggestions together.

Follow the directions of increasing the Q CD and I have no issue. However, an empowered Q here currently would be every 1s, or almost instantly with CDR would have explosions EVERYWHERE decimating entire teams very fast.

Again, for the E. Make the shots dodgeable and it's all good. Otherwise all you need is a stun on the enemy team, followed by the Q's explosions and it's an easy pentakill. Very OP.

The second part of this. It's like a Karthus Q, but stronger and bigger range (a lot bigger). It is an ultimate, yes. However Xerath does something similar with his ultimate. However he shoots 3 (albeit on a bigger range) that deals 1680 (Rounded up) with all 3 shots with him having 600 AP. His is also predictable and can be dodged. Not sure if yours can be. You would also be dealing at 600AP a possible 2280 on a shorter range, but still.

If the arrows can be dodged however and predicted like Xerath, then I have no issue.

Overall Interesting concept. I like it. Seems very OP right now with those cooldowns. Those are my main concern. Everything else seems pretty neat. So, keep it up! ^_^

Cool :D
