Luka (Loki?)- The Impressionist

NEW CHAMPION CONCEPT: Some players and myself wanted to develop a mimicking style champion. A champion that would need a summoner to adapt to the champion pool of the enemy team. This champion would involve high knowledge of champions and the ability to adapt to any situation; either blind pick or ranked. This champion concept is also a true test for RIOT. Because we are asking for a huge developed style champion. Having Luka be able to perform all abilities, having a regen rate for all resources, etc.

Background: The name of the champion is the origin of the name LOKI (The Norse Trickster god). We would like to name him LOKI, if it does not involve any copyright infringement.

ABILITIES:

PASSIVE: You choose your resource bar. -Mana: increased mana regen rate -Energy: increased energy regen rate -Rage: increased rage meter rate -No abilities: increased cooldown reduction on those abilities

Q: Mimic- You choose one Q ability from the enemy team. -You cannot choose 2 abilities from the same enemy champion until Ultimate levels.

W: Mimic- You choose one W ability from the enemy team. -You cannot choose 2 abilities from the same enemy champion until Ultimate levels.

E: Mimic- You choose one E ability from the enemy team. -You cannot choose 2 abilities from the same enemy champion until Ultimate levels.

R: Imitate- You may erase one chosen ability. And replace it with another of that KEY (Q,W,E). Even from the same champion (this can only happen on Ultimate levels). So at Level 16 (final ultimate), Luka may have all 3 abilities from one enemy champion.

Ability breakdown: The goal is for the summoner to constantly adapt to the game play. Being able to play with the chosen abilities until Ultimate Levels; where they can re-choose one of their choices. By the end of the game (after final ultimate), those will be the final abilities chosen. So the summoner must choose the proper resource bar, and match enemy champion abilities throughout the game. This is also a good nerf on this champion. This idea can create an OP champion, but restricting the resource bar will help. Allowing a full line up of enemy champion abilities and regen rates from passive, makes up for no true Ultimate.

Biggest Development Problem: Animations. The amount of time and effort required to make sure this champion has appropriate particles and animations for every ability in the past (and every ability of every champion added in the future) is staggering. I'd imagine it would add at least 25% more work to any future animations for any champion in the game, as you'd have to build complete animations for this guy as well.

Biggest Design Problem: This could way to easily become horrible overpowered or horribly underpowered. It breaks into awful design territory (how does it react if, say, I get an ability dependent on a mechanic I don't have?), and it does so often (Rage-based Ryze? Possible with this. How does it work?). It breaks the balance of spells and kits, and thus completely breaks the idea of a power budget spread between abilities.

The Ultimate is pretty useless. I'll pick the best skills possible immediately, and then ignore the Ultimate unless two of the best skills are on the same enemy champion. Also, I'm stuck with just basic abilities, because the Ultimate doesn't do anything by itself.

I know what you were trying to accomplish here. The truth of the matter, however, is that League isn't designed to be a modular game, and trying to have a character to make it one (even for just that character) meshes horrifically with the design philosophy and game mechanics of the game.
