Control Wards.

i got to thinking, should fit into the totem trinket spot where our (or / ) goes. we still have to buy them manually (though maybe reduce the cost to 50 from 75) and do not recharge on their own but it would save an item spot for other important items. if we run out of we can either buy more or switch to the other three vision items at no charge. while i would suggest / would also go there they are technically not vision items and as such we would be without vision until our quest is complete.
