Lucea, the Fiery Passion (for fun)
Champion Name: Lucea Appearance/Bio: Thin and lithe, yet curvy. Black and silky, braided hair on one side while shaved on the other. Sun-darkened skin, with Shuriman-based belly dancer garb. Born as "Ahvara" and being of Shuriman birth, she was raised a slave without a proper education. After her master was killed by a rival, the rival had taken her and trained her as his personal dancer. One day she had managed to sneak looks at some books and found out about magic, and swore to herself she'd learn to read so she could one day use this magic. Once she learned enough of reading, she learned and found the feeling of using her magic intoxicating. One day, her master gave her some expensive alcohol to pass around, and as she dared take a small fraction of a cup for herself she realized this could be her chance. As she danced with the alcohol in-hand, she splashed it around herself and called upon her fire magic -- effectively destroying the whole room around her and killing everyone except herself. Dazed but finally free, she gathered what she could find intact and set out to find a place to teach her more. Exiting Shurima, she never hears about Azir's return until she becomes a Champion, and the Institute of War promises to teach her to better use her magics if she fights for them. While she detests the feeling of being dragged back into her old life, she makes the sacrifice for gain of knowledge and accepts -- but under the terms she changes her name, so as to not truly go back to being a slave. Having seen Lux's power for its worth, she changes her name to "Lucea" and swears to herself to become more powerful than the bubbly woman.
Champion Passive: Reactivating Lucea's Abilities before their cooldown resets causes them to reactivate for half the Mana cost, but the ability reactivated gains 5 more seconds of cooldown. Reactivating Lucea's abilities also heals herself and allies inside the area the ability's location, but also slows them.
Q Name: Severed Dream Q Cooldown/Cost: none yet/none yet (short cooldown, like Yasuo's Q; effectively a secondary basic attack with reversed MF Q effect) Q Passive: While this ability is on cooldown and the ability has not yet been reactivated, Lucea gains vision of a very small area around the whip's location. Q Active: Lucea lashes forward with her whip, damaging the first two enemies in a straight line. If this ability deals damage, the second enemy (if any) takes reduced damage but also suffers a 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% slow. After this the whip detaches from its handle, curling in an oval shape. Q Secondary Active: Lucea presses a button on her whip's handle, detonating the detached whip and stunning enemies in the middle of its oval-shaped radius.
W Name: Passionate Concentration W Cooldown/Cost: none yet/None W Passive: After standing still for X seconds, Lucea gains +100%/150%/200%/250%/300% Mana Regeneration while standing still, but takes damage to her health equal to half the Mana regained. This effect stops when Lucea's health drops to X% and/or her Mana increases to Y% while the effect is active, or she is moved or becomes affected by Crowd Control. This ability cannot activate if Lucea's health is below X% and/or her Mana is above Y%. W Active: None
E Name: Heated Rhythm (best name I could come up with, if you guys have a better name for a belly dancer ability please feel free to tell me) E Cooldown/Cost: none yet/none yet (planning on it having a high cooldown due to its unique nature) E Passive: Enemies charmed by this ability are slowed while moving harmlessly towards her, and enemies leaving the circle prematurely removes the effect on them. Minions/Monsters leaving the circle prematurely start attacking her for up to 5 seconds (or until their aggro meter fills, if they are a monster), and do not target other Champions with their attacks until the effect ends. E Active: Lucea dances skillfully while she moves, charming enemies in a small circle around her causing them to move harmlessly towards her for 1-1.5 seconds (based on level) or until they reach her. She can move with a 40%/32.5%/25%/17.5%/10% Movement Speed reduction while dancing. This ability immediately goes on cooldown when activated. E Secondary Active: Lucea reveals a bottle of fuel (I want it to be alcohol, but she could drink some flammable herb tonic instead?) while twirling, ending her dance by splashing the liquid out breathing fire in a half-circle in a given direction. Non-slow CC effects on allies in the half-circle are removed, and allies within the fire are unaffected by CC for 1 second after, but this ability's cooldown is increased by 1 second for each ally affected by this ability. Enemies damaged by Lucea's fire after being charmed cannot be charmed for 2 minutes.
R Name: Firestorm (like sandstorm, but...with fire!) R Cooldown/Cost: none yet/none yet (ever-increasing continuous cost) R Passive: None R Active: Letting her control of her powers go, Lucea creates an ever-expanding area of fire around her, damaging and igniting enemies within the area as it gets bigger. Lucea cannot be affected by CC while the area is active, but moving ends the effect prematurely. Being unable to pay the cost while it is still active automatically activates its secondary activation. R Secondary Active: Reigning in her powers, she returns the fire back within her. Due to the sudden vacuum of air, enemies are dragged towards the center (farther away is dragged closer, closer is dragged but ends up closer). Upon returning her fire to her, Lucea regains [40%/50%/60% of a value based on the size of the circle created] mana. Allies suffer a worse-but-unchanged slow, but regain more health depending on the size of this ability's area before it was activated the second time.
I tried to go for a balanceable belly dancer with a dark sense of humor and passion for magic. Her own Passive gives her the ability to reactivate her own abilities before their cooldown rully resets, but at the cost of using more mana. The area where reactivation takes place heals allies to make up for the larger Mana loss, but those healed are also slowed (which essentially acts like an AoE Honeyfruit). Her mechanics make her a Mage/Support with as much Carry potential as Yasuo but replacing his Burst and Mobility with CC and Healing. Due to her mechanics, she has an easier time against Champions with lack of mobility but at the same time finds it harder supporting immobile allies; in reverse, it's harder to really mess with mobile opponents with Dashes and Flashes, but at the same time is greatly helped by mobile allies like Ezreal, Tristana, and Ivern. Especially Ivern, as his Q's unique effect allow her immobile allies to seemingly ignore her Passive's slows in teamfights. She's meant to go right in the middle of a fight and destabilize her opponents with skill and grace, either breaking up the fight or acting as a distraction as her allies mow down her opponents while she gives them heals.
Her Q is a reversed Miss Fortune Q, but like Yasuo's Q has a short cooldown which is affected by her AP. It's "reversed" because instead of the second target taking more damage they take less, however that second target is slowed in place of the lost damage. It's pretty much my balance of a Mage's version of Yasuo's Q. Its second activation detonates the whip at the location it landed at, and also stuns those unfortunate enough to be in the center at the time.
Her W is a passive ability that acts like a reversed Master Yi W -- this time, "reversed" means that instead of using Mana to regain health, she's effectively using her health to regain Mana. Like Yi, she can move to cancel it; however, to activate it she must be standing still for several seconds and it will cancel after either her Mana reaches a certain percentage or her Health drops to a certain percentage. Also, the Mana-healing is based on Regeneration, not simply regaining health, so it won't be very useful until later in the game or she gets items that increase her Mana Regen (like
, for example). Being a Passive ability, it doesn't get an Activation (or second one for that matter).
Her E...well, I had thought of making it her ultimate at first, but I decided her dancing should have a little more presence in-game, as well as its secondary active's effect on her allies, so I made it a primary ability. This is a unique ability in that it immediately goes on cooldown after it's activated while it's still in play, so I want for it to have a longer cooldown to make up for this. Even with the 5 second reactivation cost. It's also unique it that it's like Lucian's Ult in that she can move freely while it's active, though with a slow. Like Ahri's E, it has the ability to charm her enemies (which should really be a real and capitalized form of CC, instead of something unique to Ahri), but Lucea does this in an AoE...Aura of sorts. Her charmed enemies also move slow, so she can end up dancing too far from them -- ending the charm. The second activation lets her end the dance by turning her into a fire breather, damaging enemies while also using her Passive to heal he allies. This fire, though, also removes all non-slow forms of CC on them (and protects them from further CC for 1 second to let them get away easier...like imagine Blitzcrank's Q getting Tristana as she W's away when she just got out of a stun-lock...not fun). Since it has a high cooldown, I felt the CC removal was a good addition.
Her Ult. I had fun making this. It's like giving Nunu's Ult the mechanics of Aurelion Sol's Q and Shyvana's W, but it hits her Mana HARD. I added the Clarity-esque effect as balance for losing so much Mana from its first activation, since the longer she has it up the worse the burn is...with this restoration of Mana on its second activation, she's not terribly punished if she keeps it up for a long time and can still fight some after the ability's done its work; being like this, it would make sense for her to use it when she has more Mana, as she'll end up being rewarded more for a larger AoE. I added the Orianna Ult-like effect as I felt it was too lack-luster for someone as supportive as Lucea, and returning all her fire should make a vacuum effect have sense, so I had the enemies in the area dragged towards the center as the effect. Obviously, her allies will get the heal/slow from this ability, but they won't get that until the second activation when it vacuums in; this gives her allies an easier time to deal with dragged-in targets, but it also gives those enemies time to get away as her healed allies also have a slow applied to them. Note: one thing I noticed is that her W works in her favor here, giving her massive Mana regen late-game so she can keep her Ult up a little longer. Of course, sooner or later her health will drop down far enough that her W will end, so she'll lose her Ult eventually. And with that larger area comes a bigger heal.
I hope you guys like it :) I've been working on this baby for a few hours, and it took me some time to create a Bio for her so I hope my hard work didn't go to terrible waste. If you have any ideas on the things I didn't list or fill in, or you have ideas to balance her further or change her abilities to make more sense for her premise, please feel free to comment!
