"It doesn't even matter", says practically all the community when in a non-ranked game

...except it does matter. You play a match expecting to learn something or at least have fun...but when you end up having incompatible Champs at the end, and you tell them why they just did that when you already had your Champ locked in, they just go "dude who cares" or "it&'s just a [insert game mode] game" or both. Then when they end up feeding (or end up making you feed because they're so bad at their role or they did it on purpose, and their Champs are powerful enough to take you down easily), they get salty about it and tell you to die and uninstall. I love this game, and Riot and its employees are so awesome. I love everything about it (except some incredibly minor things), but I hate its community's general attitude towards everything. They either care about something so much they're practically a fanatic (oh nuuu Sona's not super powerful we need to buff her!! she's technically the second least powerful so she needs buffs!! [even though her utility's so well-rounded she ends up being the perfect Support in a lot of cases]) or they care so little — and then perhaps caring so much later on — that you can't tell whether they're trying to make you angry or not. Again, don't get me wrong. I love the game, I won't uninstall. I have people on my Friend List I enjoy teaming up with, I love the Champs in this game as much as any sane person loves them. I like playing off-Meta builds and Champs and roles. But I really don't like the attitude of our community here. /rant done I mean no toxicity to the people here, other than the obvious people that have the mindsets I listed down. I just decide sometimes I need to rant about certain behaviors I see, and hope some people agree about what I post down. Thanks for taking the time to read, if you did.

"You play a match expecting to learn something (because non-Ranked is all about training you to become capable at Ranked, whether you want to play in Bots or Draft/Blind)"

Here's your issue - this is why YOU play Normal matches and what you expect.

The rest of the community won't share this sentiment on a large scale. They may roll Normals to try a new champ, a new build, an off meta champ in an odd lane, or a million other things including having fun not being berated by a try hard in their Normal matches.

Because wanting to have a normal game without some pot-smoking douchebag losing our game before we even start is considered being a tryhard? I know what people think, and I think with some common sense you'd know that 'training for training's sake' is not why anyone plays League. I know that a lot of people simply want to have fun, and breaking the Meta is good; but when you knowingly take something like Tristana vs Draven (or, when he comes out, Jhin vs Teemo) because you want to "try a new champ" and simply have a non-caring attitude about it, and then feed that entire game and make it impossible for anyone to learn anything — knowingly or not — except what not to do...that's the kind of bull I'm talking about My Topic was about the general attitude of the community in large, and how they spread that to their games and make it a clusterfuck of excessive toxicity or non-caring.

Every now and than in ranked you will face your counter, deliberately picking bad matchups in normals is legit thing to do to improve oneself. If you get salty when people don't tryhard you games as much as you do your only option is to enter ranked queue.

I'm not going to say I don't tryhard sometimes, everyone has their tryhard moments. And I didn't say "picking their counter" isn't a bad thing as long as you have the correct mindest for going against your counters. I said that you knowingly picking a champ that's countered by theirs in the same lane, and obviously being uncaring or overly toxic about it, is something that just creates more trouble for everyone else and spreads to other games.

Ranked is the go-to option for someone of your mindset where winning, proper matchups/counter-picks, meta picks, etc are expected a majority of the play, so just play there and your problem is solved.

If I want to have fun with friend in Normal's playing Soraka Sona bot lane the last thing I'd want is someone bitching at us from the champ select lobby forward.

Who said I bitch about people picking off-Meta picks? I said that going in with bullshit attitude makes for a bad game. TBH I do feel somewhat sorry for your team if you do pick those together for Bot Lane (if you weren't playing with friends, I mean). You want to pick that team with your friends you go right ahead and do so. You might even win if you use them correctly. I'm talking about when you go in Solo (or a small party) and go in totally uncaring or extremely toxic — picking off-Meta or acceptable Champs — and then go ahead to feed the enemy team or not help your team at all because of that.

I honestly don't even take ranked seriously. I lose about 35% more LP for a loss than I gain for a win because of how bad I performed in my first attempt at ranked in S3. And Riot may reset the rift and items and champions, but there's no reset button for MMR for any of us unless we just decide to scrap an entire account with everything we've purchased to try again with nothing but what we've learned. Even if I am one win or loss away from determining if I rank up, I'm chill. If I move up...whatever, you know? I'm still a long way off from moving up the Rainbow chart and earning that gold star sticker all the kids want placed by their name at any cost.

Even if the system was more forgiving than an insurance company, I probably would not be willing to put in a any additional effort because part of what has improved my game is that I play my games the only way in which I can. Without the stress and not allowing anyone to put me down.

I suppose I need to change my wording on my original then. EDIT: hope that, if you read it again, you hopefully know what I mean. If not, oh well. Can't please the populace.
