Idea for a Taric Rework

Taric The Gem Knight Rework Hello, this is my rework idea for Taric. He is still Support/Fighter and his abilities are reworked and his stats are tweaked. Enjoy

Stats Health: 503 (+87 per level) Health regeneration: 7.1 (+0.6 per level) Mana: 246 (+56 per level) Mana regeneration: 3.9 (+0.7 per level) Attack Damage: 57 (+3.2 per level) Attack Speed: 0.675 (+1.6% per level) Armor: 16.8 (+2.6 per level) Magic Resistance: 18.6 (+2.4 per level) Movement Speed: 340 Attack Range: 130 The changes to his stats grants him more starting health, but he gains less health over time. This is to give him an advantage early in the game without letting him to grow invincible later in the game. Same goes with his armor and MR.

Abilities: Passive- Gemcraft After using an ability, Taric gains bonus armor and magic resistance for 4 seconds. The bonus resistances increase every 2 levels. Taric’s abilities scale off of his bonus armor and magic resistance. This doesn't stack with itself, it only refreshes the cooldown. Armor Bonus: 8/12/16/20/24/28/32/36/40 MR Bonus: 8/12/16/20/24/28/32/36/40 The change to his passive is to make him feel like a better tank and encourage building tanky items. The fact that his abilities scale with bonus armor and MR is to give him usefulness while remaining tanky.

Q: Ruby of Regeneration- Passive/Active Taric passively gains bonus health regeneration based on his missing health. He can activate this ability to heal an ally based on his current health. The passive effect of this ability is disabled while on cooldown. Health Regeneration: 1%/1%/1%/1%/1% per 1% missing health Heal: 40/60/80/100/120 (+10% current health)(+20% bonus MR) Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 Mana Cost: 40/60/80/100/120 To give him a little survival against adcs like Cait and Twitch. Passive health regeneration is supposed to synergies with the amount of health he can heal making him a little more important than just being a tank. W: Garnet of the Guardian- Aura/Active Taric passively generates an aura of armor, granting nearby allies and himself bonus armor. He can activate this to temporarily give himself or an ally a shield and additional armor for a short time. The armor aura is disabled during this spell’s cooldown. Passive armor: 5/10/15/20/25 (+25% bonus armor) Shield Strength: 40/60/80/100/120 (+60% bonus MR)(+60% bonus armor) Shield Duration: 2/3/4/5/6 seconds Cooldown: 24/22/20/18/16 Mana Cost: 120/110/100/90/80 Once again, just to give taric a little more tankiness and some more usefulness. Bonus armor to counter his low starting armor. The shield, once again heavily encourages building tanky. E: Stunning Sapphire- Active Taric launches an explosive gem from his shield, stunning and damaging an enemy. The explosion damages enemies near the primary target. Damage: 80/90/100/110/120 (+70% bonus MR)(+40% AP) Splash Damage: 40/45/50/55/60 (+40% bonus armor)(+20% AP) Stun duration: 1.75/1.75/1.75/1.75/1.75/ Mana Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 Ye olde stun. Now with AoE damage instead of damage based on range. R: Diamond of Determination- Active Taric infuses the power of his gems into the air giving surrounding allies bonus attack damage, ability power, and a movement speed buff for a short time. Taric gains a percentage of the gold for every enemy slain from the empowered allies. Bonus Attack Damage: 20/40/60 (+45% AD)(+20% armor) Bonus Ability Power: 20/40/60/ (+45% AP)(+20% MR) Bonus Movement Speed: 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% Gold Gain: 35%/40%/45% Duration: 4/6/8 seconds Cooldown: 140/110/80 Mana Cost: 200/180/160 Aura Size: 600 Resembles his old ult but now with a movement speed buff and changes to the attack damage and ability power. Can be cast on allies instead of a wide aura. This is my vision for what Taric could be, may seem a little too OP, but I would have to see it in-game. Anyway, thanks for reading and please be sure to give input.

Edit: Removed Armor and MR scaling from passive, increased armor and MR on passive, turned ult into an aura, swapped the macros so it is good for the Taric mains, decreased ad/ap scaling on ult, decreased ult duration.

Wow, this sounds great! I like the more gem-focused kit.

Pretty nice, I have to say, it sounds interesting and fun to play. I would definitely play it! There are a few little things though...

First: I think Taric should remain a support fighter. We've already got two tank supports fitting the role of offense(Leona) and defense(Braum), and I don't think that a buff/sustain based tank would be very healthy for the game. He's also typically associated as a fighter, so I just feel it would make sense to his character to keep him that way.

Second: Not really as much a serious criticism as it is a minor nitpick, in other words, it's not really important. But wouldn't it make sense to keep the skills where the skill of similar effect originally was? so, Ruby on Q, Garnet on W and Sapphire on E?

Third: His ultimate. I like the idea of giving your allies a more noticable buff, but I think the scalings on this one are a liiiittle bit broken. Also, just a personal opinion, but I would love it if it was an aura type like it is now, but you just get to chose who gets the bigger buff instead of it being forced stuck on Taric. More choice and all that. .... It isn't an aura in your idea, right..? just wondering if I actually got it right.

Fourth: ... That passive won't need those scalings, It's plenty powerful without them, but a slight scaling probably wouldn't hurt. It's just that... With a full-tank Taric and that passive... He'd be a hyper-tank, and completely un-killable as long as that passive is up.

But yeah, otherwise, I love it! Especially the health regen part. You added that since his self-heal on heal is gone, correct? It's also wonderful how every skill now has some kind of gemstone related to it, and I like their names as well. Not to mention, it'd make the skill bar soooo colorful!

TL;DR: Keep him a fighter, Tone down the ult and scalings on passive, otherwise I love it! (The poor guys seriously needs a visual update at least though.)

I give you my gems- item 1028 item 1027 Because I like this Taric

I love it! Just one thing... I'd make the Q a skillshot. If it hits, then the AOE damage would proc. It would give Taric alot of good poke.
