So why not rework Taric into a.. son of Odin, Mjolnir wielding-esque beast? He could still have an affinity for gems, they could've been bestowed upon him after being recognized by some sky god for his deeds, or having came from the earth, they represent that essence, hammer in hand, gems embedded in armor, sky/ground.

Olaf is a lost cause..

I don't know man, I say rework Taric but his identity as a Paladin would be lost, and this Valhalla junkie would be restricted to support? meh. They either need to come out with a new champion like this all together, or rework Taric and then come out with a more realistic paladin later on.

Pretty much this. It's the fabled hero's weapon if Demacian, waiting for the true weikder who will save the land from destruction (spoilers--it's Poppy).

We're not going to get Thor specifically, because Runeterra isn't our world and their gods and heroes aren't ours. I'd imagine even "Hammer wielding Northern God-Being" is probably too close to really be in the table.

Taric, Volibear, Jayce, Poppy, and Braum all have bits of someone like Thor in them though.

berserkers, i presume you're referencing? i don't really care for the whole thunder god thing, so much as i do the warrior thing. to be honest, olaf would be perfect if he wasn't... such a failure. axes -> hammers, add a few new visuals, heavier armor, appropriate lines, bam.

I think the main reason Thor isn't in this game is because this isn't Smite

Also, did anybody pick up on the irony of the OP complaining that Olaf doesn't fit the description cause he uses axes instead of a hammer, but the very next post from him was complaining about somebody focusing on the hammer part of his post?
