Taric - Rework Imminent?

Taric . Oh, good ol' Taric.

Taric is hopefully (if not already) in sights for a rework. That's plain as day to anyone who likes the pink blue gemstone avenger.

That said, his rework really needs to make him into something closer to the ideal that his bio gives him, which is already fairly vague. "...summoned to Runeterra from a faraway world."

I feel like his kit is trying to be too much. He gives passive armor, and gains benefits from his W off of additional armor, while his Q, E, and R all benefit from flat ability power (and in Q's case, bonus health). He can heal. He can reduce enemy armor as well as buff AD and AP for himself and allies.

His kit is across the board. The only 2 things he's missing are true damage and mobility.

I feel like Riot really needs to reaffirm his identity, and focus more on one or two solid things his kit provides.

The minor healing he does is negligent, and I feel like his ult "steroid" is lackluster in teamfights. That, and the travel speed of his E. Those 3 places are where I'd firm up his kit. While his bio confirms him as a healer, I'd try and find a fun way to change it instead of it just being "press Q, get life". He's supposed to be the world's only "earth mage"...or "crystal/gem mage" if you want to split hairs.

First, I'd update his E. I feel like Dazzle could use a reimagining. My thoughts? Cause it to burst forth, nearly immediately, as a short cone of light (or even a nova), and cause either a blind or a "confuse" effect, similar to fear. Doesn't have to last long, but long enough to gap-close.

Second, I'd completely reimagine his R. How does his "damage and AP/AD steroid" fit into his lore, exactly? I don't know, but I'd rather see him do something actually fun and useful. If he controls "magic of the earth" drawn from the resonance of crystals and gems...I suppose a buff is OK? But I'd rather see something that isn't just a "press R and hope your team wins" kind of thing. I feel like he's more of a juggernaught / support. He's slow, kitable, and durable. I'd love to see something in his kit allow him to disrupt a teamfight as much as a Braum or Nami Ult.

Just my thoughts on one of my favorite supports that doesn't seem to get enough love lately.

It's been mentioned a lot in the past week. He's slated for a rework, his kit is almost done and they're mostly doing work on the bells and whistles at this point.
